- I had the opportunity to test the @Seadoo switch when it first came out. Looking to purchase one? This might be a good video to watch.

The bigger picture......
This is a tremendously smart move for Sea Doo. Building customizable platforms that perform allows for near infinite options with the addition of 3rd party inventors/vendors. RVs, especially Sprinter types, should be looking into this.
Agreed! THe concept is great. Thanks for watching!
I have the 21 230 and by far, the best Boat I’ve ever owned!! Handles absolutely amazing! Love it!
They definitely handle well!
How is the gas consumption and what area do you take it out
@@dennismajors252 strictly salt, water only; very close to the Gulf of Mexico south Louisiana. Gas consumption is a little worse than what you would think normal would be, but not horrible.
I use my 2023 21 230 cruise in higher elevation lakes in Utah and love this boat. Fresh Water only
Who would have know the Jeeps on the run guy. Thanks Mike . Looking to pick up our sport compact with the 170 from Neilsen . Need to sell this new 2023 spark first
Haha small world. This is JOTR's sister RUclips channel.
When I first checked these boat out 2 years ago they were being sold alot cheaper than they are today 3 years ago you could get the 13 ft for $19,000 with a trailer, today that same boat is now $28,000 .When I inquire about the price difference I was told (SUPPLY AND DEMAND).
The dealership I work with isn't gouging. You can still get an entry level one for low 20s
can i ask how much was it and how is the availability. thanks
Because Covid caused delays in shipping and under stock of products
Wait till they make a live well and trolling setup. Ooowee! 💪🏽
Yes. Shocked they haven't yet. The live well already is made for the seadoo fish pro
I've never came across a product that I ended up really liking so much but having a single feature about it that became an absolute show stopper and it's those god dam handle bars. And this is coming from a guy who never liked pontoon style boats. It’s amazing how Sea Doo changed my mind about pontoons but with a single design feature toss me right back to how I viewed them. Such a let-down. Let’s hope that Sea Doo’s modular design philosophy here with the switch translates into offering optional helm styles in the future.
We hear this a lot. Have you driven one of these yet? If you drove it - it might make more sense to you as to why they did the bars.
@@midwestadventurelifeI've never driven one and I can see how well it maneuvers when docking it from videos I’ve watchged but I am a traditionalist at heart. I would think they'd be able to create a similar maneuvering experience with a wheeled helm and throttle stick(s) unless I am completely missing something here.
@@budo4 Understood. I thought the same until I drove one. You can throw it around like an oversized PWC. Imagine a steering wheel on a JetSki... THat's how this would feel.
@@midwestadventurelife I hear you but when I look at this product I don't see a oversized JetSki. I see a very cool boat to cruise the lake with family. They've done a great job with it's design but that helm is still a show stopper for me.
Can you get a live well for fishing
I love my 18’ sport and I only have a few complaints 1 there is no side door only in the front and the top only folds down to the front so you can’t use the boat with the top down
Fair complaints ...
Thx for sharing. Will these handle in a rough bay? What’s the maintenance like, say as wave runner? Lastly which one is best, family or sport? Thank you
Maintenance is very straightforward, same as a pwc would be. Winterize (if needed where you live) seasonal oil changes.
I personally like the cruiser style for the layout, but there's really no right or wrong option, and toy can change the Floorplan as your needs change.
@@midwestadventurelife thanks for the feedback. What about handling is the bat as opposed to a lake?
@@gust9464 not sure I understand the question.
The look and sound awesome. But already being a Seadoo jet boat owner i am extremely worried about long term servicing of these. Just like the boats are now.
Checking in, What are your thoughts now?
@midwestadventurelife Same as before. As long as there is a warranty there will have to be service. But as they get older parts and people willing to work on them will dwindle. I couldn't even get a new or factory rebuilt 1503sc from seadoo which was a gigantic seller for them. I am looking for long term. That is why I decided not to buy a switch.
Come see us for you @Seadoo Switch! #NeTime
Awesome Dealer!
Is it possible to put a wake shaper (suction cup style for pwc) on the 21 foot 230hp model and wake surf behind it?
I am not 100% sure about the product - but with this design and material of the hull, I think suction cup items may not stick well.
How does it handle big water and waves? I'm in the Georgian Bay area, Ontario
Surprisingly well.
Does sea doo have a throttle control so one can dial the motor down for a 25 horsepower lake
It won't change the horsepower, but you can limit with a programed key
Can you wet dock it long term 2-3 months?
While BRP really doesn’t recommend it - as they want you to flush the toons etc. Having said that - I have seen many people leave them in the water issue free.
I want 1, but my dealer in california Rate Hike is too damn high.
APR Rates, or charging over retail price?
Both. I saw toyota in riverside with all the added stuff up to $20k.
@@ITRLOVER that's crazy!
what is the fuel burn rate running at medium speed, say taching 3000 per hour for the 21 foot with the 230 engine? Also, what is the fuel tank size?
4 + hours at that rpm. 29 gallons
How much water does it need to float? And how much or little can it run in?? Can’t find any draft numbers. I live in lots of reefs country in northern Canada
19” draft
The only flaw i see is with the boarding door. They should be on the sides some how.
Just picked up our Sea Doo Switch 230 (close to $50,000) on Memorial Day weekend. Now 2 months later the "Check Engine Light" is going on and off. Now we have to take it out of the water (mid July), take it to the dealer (Pioneer Motor Sports, Chaffee, NY) so they can put it on the computer to see what's wrong. The "what it could be" information in the booklet provided in vague and useless. Just had family out for the weekend which was basically ruined!!! ADVICE: IF YOU WANT A PONTOON BOAT, BUY A PONTOON BOAT! AVOID THIS CRAFT....TOO NEW ON THE MARKET!
TO be fair, it's no different than a vehicle theses days. A check engine light can be many things. Also keep in mind that the motor and drive system is proven from their PWC lineup already.
Having said that, it's always frustrating to have it put a kink in your weekend plans!
Small world, I'm scheduled to look at same model from Pioneer next weekend. Any update on the issue?
@user any update?
It’s crazy how plastic that we have a abundance of can cost $50,000 😮
Height on trailer? Does it fit in an 8’ tall garage?
With the top folded down it's about 104" up to the highest part. An 8' door would not be an easy task
@@midwestadventurelife bummer.
@@gransport4246 Rumor is that there are aftermarket tops, which would reduce the height.
could you keep one on the lake like you would a std (aluminum) pontoon boat?
While BRP really doesn’t recommend it - as they want you to flush the toons etc. Having said that - I have seen many people leave them in the water issue free.
yes
Would this handle Lake Michigan?
Definitely a subjective question. They do handle waves fairly decently, but Lake Michigan conditions definitely vary a lot.
If they want to review something, how about the price ?
At the time this review was made, these Boats were prototype, not production. There was not prices released at this time.
Great concept, price point is terrible, at $20K they would've made a huge dent in the market, at almost $40K with hilariously overpriced bundles and accessories, it's a no go.
Not so sure.. In my area you see them all over the palce.
My my neighbors bought a pontoon boat. At the same time I bought my Sea-Doo switch. They paid almost exactly the same amount, and my boat walks all over theirs.
I guess we all know now you don't make a lot of money with a post like that...
@@michaellong8816you must be broke bud. Cope harder.
There are many bad reviews.. Any owners? Recommend or Do not buy?
Like any new product, you'll always have mixed reviews.
My wife asks where’s the toilet? 😵💫
It's called a bucket or jump in the lake

:
The price point is all wrong. Way too much money for what you get. Cheaply made too.
Really depends on how you want to equip the unit.
@@midwestadventurelife Nope, the cost of materials is the cost of materials.
Cheap recycle plastic.
Perfect! Its light weight yet tough as hell and seems perfect for something like this and lord knows we need to find ways to recycle that stuff!
Over priced and unreliable. The bubble will burst. Just can't happen soon enough. One thing about BRP is that they will call it quits on any product at any time. In the blink of an eye. And NGAF. Here today gone tomorrow. There is no dedication in building anymore. Sux. Same product for many, many years. 😢
Are the outlanders any good?
No one is buying them.
The dealer I work with has sold hundreds.
Then how come they sold out two years straight?
Total garbage, look at the recalls. The only people that say they like this boat are the ones that bought it and are too embarrassed to admit that they bought a piece of crap
Definitely to each their own.
What issues on the recalls?
