John is perhaps the most 'normal' rock star of all time. You can tell that he was raised properly. He is just 'normal'. He knows how to speak to others, doesn't have a huge ego, isn't a jerk, isn't trying to be super cool all of time and he isn't always 'putting on' an act like so many other 'rock stars' do. He is just a cool guy who happens to be one of the greatest guitar players to ever strap on a guitar.
I had never heard of him up until these rumors about him joining Mötley Crüe surfaced. I think he'd be a great fit but even if he doesn't join crue I'm glad I discovered him. Saw him live with mötley last week and the guy absolutely rocked it. If I didn’t know, I’d have said he’s been with them since the 80s, cause they were vibing like they’ve been doing this together for decades. His energy is immaculate. Always liked him on marilyn manson but I’m so glad he joined motley, he’s such a likable dude and amazing guitarist.

I'm a blues and jazz guitarist... but I genuinely think John 5 is one of the best guitarists out there. He's got the chops, he's got the sound, he has the restraint when needed, and he's an all-around awesome dude. What more can you ask for?

I remember when John 5 would come around to different Studios and drop off I can't remember if it was a tape or CD that was a Showcase of what he could do. We had Studio 56 radio recorders at the time and envision Productions. I do always remember him being a very nice guy and down-to-earth. And somewhere I know I still have a signed tape or CD of him from his showcase. He would chop it around because he was a great session guitar player. But just thought I would share and let you know that even back then he was just a very cool guy. I didn't meet very many cool musicians so he always stood out as just being cool

Seeing John at Ozzfest with Zombie was a complete surprise. Saw John do the biggest guitar throw I've ever seen and continue into a solo without missing a fucking beat. The best.
Loved this interview. Worrying about if he's talking too much? I'm a Manson fan. I was about 20 feet from the stage when he first played with Rob Zombie. I was instantly struck by his versatility. I was probably one of the earliest to purchase his first solo album. Nice to see someone of his stature not afraid to open up.
What a really amazing human being. Not just the things he's done, seen and accomplished in his short life but seems like a genuinely nice guy.... You can tell they were at some sort of event, you can hear so many people clamoring around them but his focus and attention is completely on the interview. I don't think I've ever seen that out of another musician. I have loved Marilyn Manson since I was 12. But I can see why him and John 5 maybe clash all the time. They're two very different people.
