If you want to make these quite a bit harder touch your nose to the ground/floor for every rep. You can also add some resistance by wearing a weighted backpack. I do them on rings every workout!

I'm bringing my hands up in line with my shoulders - till my grip is in level with an imaginary line that passes through the centre of both shoulders. I notice that you bring the arms up near the waist.
Apart from weight distribution, it there any major difference (or danger) with my version that should know about ?
Also, I have noticed that when I'm struggling to complete the last few pushups, my toes start extending trying to push my body forwards. I think this is my body trying to decrease the length of the lever by putting more weight ahead of the arms. I have to stop when I notice this, as I've sprained my big toe twice trying to push out those last few pushups.
I know... strange, yes? Straining the big toe muscle by doing pushups - LOL

Do these build more muscle definition than Diamond push-ups.. I'm up to 12 diamonds and trying to progress both cosmetically and ... well skill is also in there but sorta working on cosmetic for a great "after" picture at the end of a 6 month body transformation.
Yes they do Tom! They are much harder then Diamond Push Ups. For maximum cosmetic looks, add weight to your push ups though. Take a backpack and add some books, then do push ups with it.
When do u think someone is ready for ringpush ups? For example if they can do 10 regular with good form?
8-8-8 good form diamond push ups and you should be good to go with 4-4-4 ring push ups. As for regular idk but I moved to 4-4-4 diamond push ups after hitting 13-13-13 regular ones... 10-10-10 push ups and you're definitely NOT ready for 4-4-4 ring pus...
Just warm-up And start with 10 x 3 Ring push-up
