Tbh I'm just glad to see an instructor with a top on
I think the end goal is being comfortable with shirtless training...
its winter
I was thinking it would be nice to see without a top to see how much pec and arm development can be gained using the rings.
@@Symbolicliving Yeah, and especially just seeing which muscles are being used and how the person orients their body
Ones body is a business card for fitness instructors. If the same could be said for doctors it'd show up the medical profession for what it is.

Superb! Can't upvote enough. 😂😂
I bought my first set of rings a few weeks ago as an early birthday present. Turned 63 yesterday. I've watched a few videos but you are the best so far. Thanks for the beginner tips. ❤
Great video. I'm very encouraged. I just got some rings at age 67.
Awesome! I'm very pround of you :)
Awesome, they will keep you young and agile!
Tanks for this awesome video
I just got rings at 58...I can do tucked front lever pullup into inverted hand and finally skinned cat...and then reverse it all back to where I started. Muscle-ups are another story
End Spann: Update, please.
Why I watch your videos: 20% for the fitness 80% for nature and scenery
Haha, thanks mate. Now I know it's worth it spending time finding those places :)
Deffinetly
The best thing is that with rings you take gym outside and workout on fresh air
yeah!
Y'all have any recommendations to where can I fix them ?
I like how you mimic the struggle of the beginner to sympathize with us. Very appreciated :)
I just bought my rings and started to exercise about a month ago, but it already transformed my training. I could say that this was the missing element I was looking for. I find this video very useful, especially the info about the "false grip". For those who are just starting: Do it in small steps, it WILL pay off.
cant wait to try this! Looks like it will be along journey, nevertheless a whole lot of fun!
How its going ?
wow such a good scam
@Xzavier Curtis you are a insecure beta male for that
Yo Wil!!!!!!! Nasubukan mo na sir?
Wil 🔥🔥🇵🇭✊🏻
inspirational -starting on rings @ 62 yrs. well done. Thanks very much
I started at 62 also. Early birthday present to myself. Turned 63 yesterday.
Me in the park trying to look küL with my new rings:

VERY GOOD BROTHER !
Thanks bro.
I like how you talk about your struggle starting out. Inspires me to not give up and expect a challenge right from the start
Got some 1" x 9' long NRS heavy duty tie down straps and rings some years ago. One of the best investments I ever made for strength training. I only very recently got back into using them and am going all the way this time, with regular workouts. Already after several weeks, I went from barely being able to get into the support position at all to doing ring dips with close to full ROM and can hold the support position for at least 25 seconds.
The NRS straps are very, very solid and are extremely quick and easy to adjust. Much easier than the straps that came with my rings with the larger buckles. The NRS straps are rated for lashing up to 1,500 pounds so I don't have any concerns about durability.
Rings are mentally stimulating and rewarding, which goes even further beyond the strength gains. As your body adapts and can do more and more complex movements, it proves to be really rewarding and satisfying and encourages you to keep going. Same reason I prefer shadowboxing for my cardio workout: I'm practicing old skills and building new skills as I get a workout. The workout at times almost feels like a byproduct of learning a new skill, and at that point it feels more like fun than working out and it can be hard to stop.
More and more of my spare time is spent messing around on the rings or doing calisthenics on the floor, simply trying to find if I can move my body in new ways due to increases in strength. So my baseline activity level has also gone up just for the enjoyment of it.
The rewards we get from ring training are tremendous. So finally, thanks for sharing this video and all the tips you provided. Very helpful and also very motivating for someone who's just getting back into ring training and is excited to train my body and grow stronger.
Just ordered mine!!!! I want to start off with chest, core, dips, and pull ups so I can do muscle ups. Awesome video!!!! 💪
I did my first sets today. Big step up! But I can't wait to progress.
you sir are an awesome youtuber!! keep it up
I am amazed to see this video in my feed! I was literally on the rings in my community this morning. Uncanny coincidence? Or does the RUclips algorithm know me much better than I think? 🧐
Day 1 with rings and I couldn't do a single dip properly and thought may be it's me because parralel bar dips are waaay easier. Feel more confident after this video. Thanks man.
My rings hang outside at home and it's lovely to get fresh air while beginning the rings journey. This video shows I've made a good start after just a few outings - wonderful feeling at 73.
I'm going to make a set of wooden rings immediately. Thanks for a great video. Much respect for your dedication.
pocket83 the ring are make of compact wood and as hard as hell dont DIY it
If he cuts the rings from 2x4s there will be a weak part of the grain where it could snap, fall & injure himself. Don’t DIY these I asked a carpenter friend of mine & he said no way.
pocket83 Buying rings is a better idea and not expensive at all. 😉
I bought mine here ruclips.net/user/redirect?q=http%3A%2F%2Famzn.to%2F2xVRPNW&v=MbhFOBoS1J8&redir_token=W4P-yGTp0XYJ_Z61eggkANLXkK98MTUzNDYxMDYyOUAxNTM0NTI0MjI5&event=video_description (recommended by Antranik on this video: ruclips.net/video/MbhFOBoS1J8/видео.html) and I have absolutely no regrets. The rings are high-quality, including the tough nylon straps and steel clamping buckles that allow you to adjust strap length easily. I'm so glad I bought these.
This is a great video, BTW.
Yeah, I think he did OK...

Thanks mate! I live in an apartment and have no calisthenics park nearby... Spent months thinking about buying dips bar and pull ups bar and where to put them (my aparmente is really super small), but I guess I'll buy a couple fo rings now! Even if it's harder than bars, I'm sure I'm gonna make... Just need more time and training harder!!
Hows training going?
@@UGotTheFunk Bump
I almost bought a dip bar too, dang am I glad i didnt! What waste of space!
bruh, I have a calisthenics park in my family house yard that I currently live (high pull up and dips bar) but I am convinced that when I move to an apartment alone (I am planning to travel to another country) I will only get a pair of rings and enjoy every work out in some park hanging them from a tree
yo
I never thought about the height/length of the straps affecting stability! Thanks for that pro tip!!!
I bought my first set of rings recently but haven't really got a chance to workout with them. I just want to say, I love you man and i love this video. It gave me just what I needed. Thanks
great video ! i train now 6 months with rings and i made a great process ! i agree 100% with you :) rings are great !
thx dude
Nice, thanks!
Great vid! My rings are on order! Should be here this coming week. I will be using your guidance to get me started. Wish I had done this years ago! Yours look very easy to adjust to various heights I hope the ones I have ordered are like that. They had good reviews on Amazon! Thank you! Btw, I will be 71 this year. I love Bodyweight training.
I'm grateful I found this video , I was struggling using rings but now I have enough knowledge to use rings. Thanks for the advice .
Thank you so much for this informative and well-produced video. I recently bought a pair of rings and was discouraged because they were so hard to use. But when I saw that you, too had struggled with them at first, I was encouraged to continue. I find that I make slow, but steady progress. I was particularly inspired by what you said at the end: _The hardest thing to do is the first step. But once you get on the path, you'll never look back._
Q: You say that rings work the whole body. Do they really work the legs?
A: nope
Wow the "military press" like exercise in the end was GOLD! Just got mines yesterday and i'm looking for some guidance on this. Thanks a lot mate!
Mad strength and skills! Great vid.
Just setup a pull-up bar in the house and have also purchased some rings - cannot wait to start using them. Thank you for the video, it's just what I needed.
Thank you for the excellent helpful video. I am ordering rings.
Awesome :)
Buying rings on Amazon because of your video!! Unlike 90% of them out there (showing off and scaring me), yours inspired me!!!
Amazing video, I appreciate your content. You fill my knowledge base of useful exercises to do with my rings, thank you!
thanks! this is great, I started a few weeks ago and am already much more stable, excited to see where it takes me.
This was an excellent introduction to rings. I could not have imagined a better sequence of exercises, from the ultimate baby basics to the first steps to competence. Sold! I think that rings are the very sort of thing that I've been looking for for years but never thought about.
Thanks! Hope you'll fall in love with them like I did.
I'm the same as you. I would never ever have though of doing rings. Then after coming across some callisthenics videos of them, I have got some. Starting out at age 46.
Thanks Pal! Progressing in my calisthenics training, and excited to one day start training on rings. This is very inspiring, and I'm sure I will watch this video multiple times.
how did it go
Just subscribed! this video is really good! Thanks :-)
Oh, thank you :)
content is good. what do you do for living besides training? are you somewhere in eastern Europe?
Erga Omnes he lives in poland
I already have rings At home, but when I see Your video now, i will put IT to my routine workout, nothing come easy!!!! Hard work🙏 Thanks Man!!!
fuuuuuuuuuuuckk yeeeeeesssssss. so excited to get ripped and talk with a slick russian accent
Nikko Quinones he's polish
russian accent is worse than polish. Trust me, as person from poland I can tell you that russian and polish accent is really diffrent.
from the accent I thought he was a Finn
I am 75 years old and just started enjoying rings thanks to guys like you. Dean I have to agree with you
Excellent beginners tutorial. Thank-you...
This video is not just about rings exercise but much needed motivation too...
I love the fall weather in this video
Friend: "Ohhh so what you been watching on youtube?" Me: "Just some dude playing with his ring in the woods!"
Hah
I just got rings - I switched to them after I was developing golfers elbow from straight bar pull-ups - I’m excited to see what I can do!
This video makes me appreciate my gym rings Everytime
A month ago got my pullup bar, loving it. now time for rings
Subscribed! Just found your channel. Good content. Thanks bro.
Thank you!
thanks for your videos, it's exactly how i want to progress :)
I have just put together a bodyweight mini gym at my yard. I installed a fixed pull up bar, a parallel bar (the ones the go in the wall too), and I just ordered the rings. I also put together a slosh pipe and some parallettes. I think I will build some strength using the fixed bars first, before attempting the rings.
Really good Video, I have been watching your Videos now for 2 Months and it is like a drug. You encouraged me to start Calisthenics from the first Video, and I spent my hole pocket money on equipment.
top man! now i know what to do with my rings!
I tried out rings for the first time (I was in desperate need of them, because i wanted to start progressing towards stuff like iron cross and ring planche), the stabilization component came very quickly which surprised me quite a bit
great video dude!
Looks like the perfect intro video. I’ve cancelled my gym membership, cleared space in my garage and my rings arrive next week. I’ve done quite a bit, in the past, with TRX so it will be interesting to experience a comparison.
Any recommendations as to which rings I should buy? I'm looking for the best quality rings for the lowest price. Thanks!
Made of wood is my only recommendation. Besides that, pick whatever.
Grip diameter?
I'd get wooden rings because they help you grip them better, absorbing sweat etc. As per the thickness/grip diameter, they mainly come in two measurements: 28 mm and 32 mm. I believe 28 is the official measurement, but most gymnasts are short and have smaller hands. I am 190 cm tall (6'3") and have big hands, so I went for 32 mm and they are super comfortable!
I like the way that the music does not intrude on the voice
Very well done sir. I learned more here in a few minutes than Anywhere else that I've seen so far.
Thank you. I just got my rings and really hurt my shoulder already on day on. I found my mistake due to your video.
Time to step back and start from scratch!
fantastic video. simple and easy to follow and understand exercises for beginners on rings. I have had my rings for while and needed some simple advice to get started, this video has really helped thank you....
Very helpful! Thank you ❤
Just brought my first set of rings! Thanks for the video and the explanation
such a simple and precise video, i love it, is a audiovisual work of art
I just ordered some rings recently. Thanks for the tips! Im nowhere near your level just learning as I go. I started a youtube channel few months ago really to document my fitness journey,.
Thank you man. Yesterday I got my first rings and, until I saw your video now, I was totally destroyed because I couldn't get along even with "easy" exercises. Obviously I have to start with the basics to train my coordination first. The rest will follow - hopefully. Subscribed!
The rest will follow for sure! Thanks.
Wow! very instructional video. I'll be watching it a few times.
good things to know for the beginner to intermediate to advance injury free. thank you.
I just brought my first ring and this is video very helpful, can't wait n thank you!
Excellent beginners' advice!
Couldn't take him seriously. He was wearing a shirt.
I’m currently waiting for a new pair of rings made out of wood that’s coming to me in the mail on Sunday. Which for me is right on time for my upper body training day.
If there are two exercises I would do with gymnastic rings, they would be push-ups and bodyweight rows. This is a personal favorite selection of mine since the mechanical movements of both exercises resemble exactly each other. Horizontal push and horizontal pull.
Edit: Of course I will also use the rings for other exercises like pull-ups, dips, and skin the cat to name a few examples. However push-ups and bodyweight rows will always be a mainstay for me.
did you get them? I've just got mine and tried these 2 things. How is your ring journey now?
Just started a my ring. Thanks for the tips.
If you're gonna buy rings get the straps with the position markers on them. So much easier to get them even.
Thanks my man just about to begin my journey I'm a 49 year old bjj man
hahaha, i had to smile, because i just started with rings and alltho ive been training with bodyweight for about 2 years now, the only thing i was able to in yesterdays workout has been chin ups.
