I was thinking the same thing. Guitar players typically like to play things exactly like the original. Nothing wrong with injecting a little originality into it.
@@abaloyaf Meh, he was basically copying EVH's live versions of Eruption. Personally, as a guitar player, I would have liked to see the original. Only EVH could pull of the improvisation stuff with his work.
This is fantastic!! These dudes are probably the same age as me and remembered Revenge of the Nerds and DEVO when they were new. Huge talent for guitar, bass, and drum playing for sure.
No idea why Google recommended this, but thank you!. My Uncle Victor Little (RIP) was buddies with Eddie at continuation high school in Pasadena. They had their own bands and were both guitar players. My dad was 5 years older and was their auto shop teacher. My dad used to do roll call and would call out "Eddie Van Allen Belt".
He actually did something FAR cooler and did his own rendition of the Live Without a Net version. That's the making of a great Tribute Band in my opinion, And how you reach to the deeper level of the audience member, is by doing cool stuff like that that real genuine fans will remember.
Hey, Caleb, I was as far from EVH at the 1980 Invasion show as that guy in the green t-shirt and black cap as he is from you. And my mouth was as wide open as it was hearing you.
This band looks like they should be playing Weezer songs lol. I'm pretty sure he was expecting the crowd to be wowed and start screaming and cheering when he busted out the fast repetitive lick at 1:16 lol even pulled off the dangling hand holding the pick with his middle finger fast strumming eddie technique. His tone sounds awesome. Dead ass crowd.
Back in '80, I was in the Marines Corps. There was a band called Snowman that played at the E-Club (enlisted club). These guys dressed in all white, wig to shoe, never saw what they looked like out of form. Nerd Halen is a costume band with great talent. Like to see what they really look like
Just talking about them a month ago. While working at a rock radio station in L.A. they sent us a all white vinyl record. Called us and invited me to their show at The Roxy. Band started behind a white curtain with smoke rising. Went backstage after a really fun show and met them while taking off their makeup. Real nice guys!
I use to catch these guys @ the Stone Balloon and the Logan House in Delaware.....Great times....I remember their cover of Elton Johns' cover of Funeral for a Friend-------->Love lies Bleeding. They nailed it.
Talk about a great time. These guys have the talent to pull off the Mighty Van Halen to a T but infuse a great sense of humor as well as a twist of originality to make this show a winner. Love the poke at the Pussycats...I'm sure Taime loved it too. These guys are pro. I'd like some original material from them!
Ah yes! I'm from the Jersey Shore...spent the glory days watching The Nerds, Big Orange Cone and the Benjamins playing the shore bar scene at places like Tradewinds and Joey Harrison's. Harrison's.These guys are very good, but The Nerds have covered VH plenty, as well as many others from the era. These guys are pretty good though.
That's what I'm talking about! Nothing says fun like rollin around with 50 yo blue collars, can beer, cover band, Viagra and being nostalgic on a boat! Winner winner chicken dinner.
I love how they screw up the timing on purpose it's hilarious. And they all look at each other in disgust like it's the other guys fault. The guitar player is hilarious !
Whenever you listen to someone try to cover Van Halen, you realize just how important the rhythm section was to that band! I’m not saying these guys are bad I’m just saying it doesn’t sound quite right
GREAT rendition of EDDIE'S solo with very interesting variations but why is everybody dressed like WALDO in the Hot For Teacher video on 1984 ?? ......lol ....Love 1981 Fair Warning tour STRIPEY Socks......lol
As a software engineer and Van Halen fan, I approve of this band! Nerd on! 😁
I love how they are like 80% accurate, but the 20% makes them their own thing.
Damn they suck

Those guyz made my day back then on the MORC!!! Sooo GOOD! 😊
Nerd Halen R.U.L.E.S. !!!! Eddie is smiling down at you guys from the heavens !!
Nahhh I don't think so
This is fantastic!! These dudes are probably the same age as me and remembered Revenge of the Nerds and DEVO when they were new. Huge talent for guitar, bass, and drum playing for sure.
Every guitar kid I knew in 1979 could play Eruption, note for note, exactly like the record. Such a tribute to Eddie.
Ahh, not every kid, when I tried my friends just felt so bad at the poor attempt they didn't even say it sucked.
Oh yea, and so I would then go into this Bill & Ted guitar lick everyone knows.

I closed my eyes listening to this and listened to Eddie play. So good!
Rocking mix lads, dedication IS a thing. Great work, I had the pleasure of working with dozens of tribute bands less committed
Wow! Great fidelity. Niiiiiiice...
These guys are doing an awesome job. A cool twist to the real thing
Love the touch of red and white stripes via the socks instead of a jumper suit. Too cool
Nice that 'Eddie' Nerd didn't do the Eruption solo verbatim like most do although it seems he definitely could have. Great tone!
Uh no.....

i agree 100% . His improvisation mixed with Eddie . I’d pay to see these guys . E=MC5150
we call that a "wanking session in the style of eruption"
As a middle aged man, I want to go on the old people rock cruise

A very interesting cover of eruption. Nicely done.
I'm loving that they are all wearing the socks we all know Eddie Wearing lol

I didn’t think it was the same as the Nerds… 🤔
I just hope, on the ship. This is Loud as FFFFFFFF Wish I was there.

Tone is spot on from live without a net
Great tribute band, awesome vocals and ROCK'N talent 🤘

So dang tight. Sweet, NH, you're doing Ed proud. RIP, EVH
These cats are great!!! Rock on!!!! I said rock on!!!!
I like that they’re using Marshall amps vs a 5150 model. Definitely a more accurate old school VH sound.
🤘
Wait, Faster Pussycat was on a cruise ship and nobody told me? I love those guys!
this is great; very very great, altough I see the vid and songs months later: wow - best performance - thanks a lot!!!!
Would love to see them perform in Detroit.
That's frickin funny, that's exactly the way VH looked the last 10 years like salesman not rock n roller's.
THE NERDS FROM NEW JERSEY ARE THE ULTIMATE COVER BAND!!!!
yes they are!! and whoever has not seen them is really missing out!

hal sparks! news and entertainment!
Guitarist was impressive....
He studied live without a net too
In their next incarnation i reckon they will be big.
Haha..😅
Jeff, Jeff, Jeff!!!!!
The amount of male pattern baldness in that crowd 😂
😂
@Proximity Symbol it's here already
It’s coming for all of us 😂.
I was just giving those guys a hard time. They were there listening to some kick butt music, from a killer band.
I have a feeling that all those dads are wearing a new pair of white New Balance shoes
Same
The drummer was like get it over with already haha
...its the sound of the history of VH and RnR (residuals n royalties)
Why I will never go on a cruise!!
Anyone unfamiliar w VH might think those socks are part of the nerd costumes lol.
I love how they screw up the timing on purpose it's hilarious. And they all look at each other in disgust like it's the other guys fault.
The guitar player is hilarious !
Wow these guys sound great.high towers bloody good on the old gat.
Well I guess the question has finally been answered... WHAT IF Devo went MetaL?
All this band needs is Dave and it will sound like the real band.
Nice
I like the name
The next eddie van hallen...👍👍👍
Thanks for posting that! Your phone has really good audio recording! Solid 8 outta 10 for the whole shebang!
What cruise ship was this on ?
Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas
holy shit that guys good and is he 7 feet tall???
6'4
Thanks MelRocks1213
Pretty good. The guitar is a nice copy
Nothing like this done today.
DLR I’ve only heard one person cover his vocals
"You just got your ass rocked by a bunch of goddam nerds."

A dude likes this.
So THIS is what became of Waldo...🧐
Like Buddy Holly transported to 1984.🤣
I didn't know Rob Gronkowski played guitar...
GREAT rendition of EDDIE'S solo with very interesting variations but why is everybody dressed like WALDO in the Hot For Teacher video on 1984 ?? ......lol ....Love 1981 Fair Warning tour STRIPEY Socks......lol
🤡’n on em with that solo for real
NERDS!!!!!!
Nerd Weezer is pretty cool too
That's a Giant ass "Eddie" Nerd!!!!
Never thought I'd see a 7 foot tall EVH...lol
Title Update:. Weezer covers ANOTHER classic rock song! 🤭
At least their guitarist is alive...
Nothing like Eddie ....had to listen to.
Is he about 7 foot tall???!!!
Haha he’s 6’4 which is still pretty tall.
Sooooooo, they’re “gimmick” is basically taped up glasses. Got it
No they have a whole “nerd” act, gotta see them live
@@MelRocks1213 No! please let Dan decide what we are!
nice solo nerd....
Turn up your speakers to over ride the song lol
not the solo but nice chops
The guitarist looks a lot like Rob Gronkowski.
They look good but they are too calm. Eddie needs to dance more.😝
OK.. It's was very hot and humid.
