    For the rubber cush spacers you need to put a little bit of grease to facilitate install and recommended anyway instead of using dry. 👍

    • @krazed0451
      @krazed0451 Год назад +2

      Grease traps dirt and dust and turns into grinding paste, dry is better for a cush drive.

    I got a KKE cush drive for the KTM 525 and I'm really happy with it but one thing I couldn't find a source for was replacement KKE drive blocks, I found that KTM 690 ones fit and I've made a video on it for anyone who needs more info.
    It's good to replace cush drive rubbers from time to time especially on the bigger single cylinder bikes like DR650's and the bigger KTM's, they shrink and get hard which increases driveline slop and reduces their damping effectiveness, I good rule of thumb is once they start falling out on their own when you take the wheel out its probobly time for a fresh set. On a DR650 that's usually around 10,000km ish, not sure what it is for these KKE wheels as I haven't done meany K's yet.

    Great. Is there an option to get only the hub? Would it fit original spokes and rims? I would trust the original to be stronger against denting and spoke damage, or am I wrong? Up to now I knew only the cush hub from Han Wheels. They cost twice as much.

    Good move. I put a Haan/SMPro wheel on from John Titman racing in 2019. Cost about $1300 then. You can get these wheels directly from Aliexpress plus all sorts of other stuff for KTMs.

      I had a leftover cush wheel from the 525, that was dedicated to street duty on a newer 2014 450.
      Don't really notice a positive difference since the clutch has dampers. The negative is the wheel is heavier and picked up another bearing. The extra unsprung weight is noticeable offroad.
      I don't think I would buy a cush hub for the newer bikes... the 450 has 12k miles on stock wheel set and no problems what so ever... 7 years as a singletrack bike, remainder mostly dualsporting with a mix of single.
      Probably should sell the wheel but too lazy 🤔

    Not a fan of the white tank unless riding off road. Black tank will definitely bring it together better. 500 23, nice purchase. 👌 in Australia when it's a 500cc or over, your registration is the same cost as a car, is it the same there?

Just now getting it back ready and with all the kit to do adv. rides. The price you quoted is correct. Sorry you had to buy the china stuff. I don't like the PRC and try to make them fail. China crap is a no go for me.

    Hi Keith, great helpful content. Did you consider the Motomox cush sprocket when you were evaluating a cush drive? If so your thoughts. Thx g

    • @keithjob
      @keithjob  Год назад +1

      It was a consideration, sure. I decided I wanted a second set of wheels though, so went a different path. The Motomox would certainly be a LOT lighter.. you just need to make sure you get the right tooth size for ALL your riding. No Swapping!
