Keith. I have had mine for 4 years. They have seen countless speed crashes, including a fall into a ravine. In terms of durability they are outstanding. I am beginning to loose some powder coat in high wear areas. The only downside I have found is that they widen the bike platform and make some luggage systems difficult to mount correctly. Particularly the U-shaped systems. I often look for luggage that will fit a 690 or has some minor adjustability. Also my bike is a 2013 so the rack is slightly different. Your version appears to be more narrow and better fitting. Also glad to see the addition of the strap loops on both the top and bottom of the tubes. A- overall. I have posted 3 videos over time about them if anyone looking for other opinions. And yes George is great.
Great product, I want one, but for $907.00 delivered to NSW I think I might try and build my own.
Useful video. I could never understand why ktm owners didn't try to make racks themselves, as I did. When I got my bike in 2019 I found the Globetrottin racks but did nothing about it due to costs. I made my own system and I can easily carry 25kg securely. My system has longer side arms for much better security of the bags. I also made my own soft luggage system.
Just installed my Globetrottin rack. Had some initial confusion on my end. I emailed George and he got right back to me and even called me. Top notch customer service. After talking with him the install went great. Getting my mosko moto reckless 80’s tomorrow. Excited to get out and adventure. Thank you for posting this. Safe adventures.
You're welcome!
Great review Keith!!👌🏻👌🏻
The effort you’ve put into this very thorough product showcase is much appreaciated🍻
I look forward to receiving my set from George. 👍🏻
Not sponsored or have a horse in the race, but would highly recommend the Enduristan Blizzard rack less system as well. Used them on an XR650R for an African trip, and they worked very well. So waterproof that if you can buy a bag of ice at the end of the day, before camping up, they work really well as a cooler bag for your beers.
Nice work Keith! Have a 2018 500, this rack has been on the cards for a while but I kept on putting it off. Looks like i'll be placing an order .
Did you place an order? I have the same and came to 412 plus 154 postage (I think that is US) does that sound right?
I went for a true north moto rack but you have to cut the plastics.
This reviewed rack looks well thought out.
Glad you liked the recommendation Keith. Mine still going strong. Voile strap on the bottom legs works well. Straps loosen over time but the rubber strap keeps the legs under tension.
Next recommendation for you Keith, the Motominded Rally Tower. Great product with kick ass lighting. Very happy with mine.
Hiw would these be in a crash would they bend easily?
Hi Keith ! I put the same rack on my 500 EXC and the bracket that goes over the muffler broke. I generally carry a one gallon rotopax of fuel and the tool pouch that came with the bike. Hopefully you will have better luck. Thanks for all the great videos !
True North Moto makes an amazing USA manufactured option.
He mentioned that @2:37
This one is USA mfg as well and way better design.
Great video Keith. I was after something like this when building my bike but it wasn’t available at the time so settled for the Tusk rack as I won’t be heavy with gear. I’ll probably go this route though at some point. 👍🏻
Hey Keith, have been in contact with George regarding a rack for a Beta . Great guy ! Thanks for the heads up on Globetrottiin
No worries Wayde.
I like the rack grab hold point too but I'll just continue to rub my platics finish off and save money. I also have two up pegs mounted and that occupies the same frame holes so I'd lose that feature.
I have a globetrotter on my KTM 500 exc and I use it for my bags and carting fuel. Great product. Great video well done
Thank you!
Such a great video, thank you for all that effort and purchase of all the luggage systems. I really appreciate seeing them in a real scenario, so I can make an informer choice👌👌
Thanks! I just made a video about what I would want to see, that is, actual luggage systems fitted up.
adventurespec has some racks too for the smaller through 690 ktm/700 gasgas/701 husky models.
$600 rack with shipping; and I’m in USA! I spend a bunch on motorcycling, but that amount made me feel irresponsible. Looks like a wonderful setup.
Right!
I went with the true North moto rack. I tried ordering the globe-trotting rack but could not complete the ordering process and after several follow up emails they weren't really helpful... so went true north. Mine is a 2016 exc.
i put the same rack on my 500 but also got them to put a plate with bolt holes across the back so i can bolt a nylon plate on it in the future. havent decided wether to do that yet.
great piece of kit though eh
What are you using for windshield?
Excellant and well thought out and I'm sure it will be well recieved as its quite versatile. Thanks Keith
morning? Dude's content straight up! Solid, useful.
Thanks fella. That's my goal, content of value. 😎
Have you considered using the Gnoblin with this rack for the Reckless 80 or is there a mounting point for it on the rack?
George can add a bracket for it.
Too bad KTM didn’t put a full subframe on the bike 🤷♂️
Does it fit the xc-f 250?
well done Keith a lot of time and effort and great results
Thanks Roy, I was pretty happy to get this one finished! A LOT of time indeed...
Thanks for the video (very well done as usual) and featuring this solid looking product. I wish they made it for my '23 Husky 501. Their website states they don't have a date for its' development so in the meantime I'll be using the nomad simple rack as that is currently the easiest option for me...
True North Motos have a rack for your bike.
@@Eldon95084 Hi, thanks. I did check that one out but it only holds 18kgs, which is ~9kg less capacity. I use the moskomoto gear, which itself is the first 6kgs so I'm trying to reach a maximum weight that will allow me to take around 20-25kgs of gear for 7ish day trips...
Hi Dizzy,
I've previously made a rack for a Husky 501 2022 last year. The 2023 models have the same subframe and mounting points just like the ones from the last two years. I can send you some pictures if you're interested . This rack isn't on the website yet because I'm still testing the model's performance.
@@georgeglobetrottin Hi George, thank you very much for responding on this thread, it's so appreciated when a business takes an active interest! I'd love to see some photos and would also love to know if it were at all possible to carry around 35kgs (for a lap of OZ)? I'll jump on your website and message you now! Thanks again, Jon
@@dizzyreckless5991 TNM is being extremely conservative with their load capacity.
Anyone have luck reaching the Globetrottin folks? I would love to add these to one/both of my KTM's.
Great stuff. I have a Reckless 80 as well, THANK YOU SO MUCH for the video on the mounting. I've not bought the Globetrottin' rack yet, but will be doing so after watching your video. Quick question -- what is the windscreen on the EXC-F?
Enduro screen by bajaworx
@@keithjob Thanks, Keith.
Excellent video
Hi Keith, Awesome job at sharing all that information! I'm ordering one today! Two questions for you.....What seat do you have on the bike and what windscreen? I'm interested in both. Thanks!
Seat is custom made, the shop is no longer in business. Screen is by Bajaworx in the US, their "enduro" screen.
Hey Keith, have you come across any convenient options for carrying additional fuel? I've seen some people use camping fuel bottles like those from MSR. But I've been looking for cans similar to what you see on off road vehicles that mount to a rack and are square and relatively flat. If anyone else has seen any, feel free to comment! Great video as always.
Rotopax are the square ones. They mount to various racks. But convenience? Well that is an individual thing.
Good job George.
Great video! I’m saving it👍
Great video Keith. Unrelated comment: Topline no longer doing seat modifications. Do you have any specs/details that could be used to guide another upholsterer?
I had heard that, thanks for confirming. 9" wide at the back, closed cell EVA foam. Copied from a Fisher seat. That's all I know.
Nice work Keith!!!!!
It’s an unfortunate reality that the 17-19 exc500’s have exceptionally weak rear fenders. From at least the last 6” of the seat back.
My 2022 fender broke before it ever got out of the truck from the dealer, reaching around it to grab a strap.
So this video was not sponsored by Globetrottin? It's your pure goodwill to produce them marketing video and offer discount code? You're a humble guy😇🤣
That's right, the rack was ordered and paid for by me (using the money I make from this channel). After I had done most of the review I contacted George about a code, and the extensions came out of that discussion.
I prefer to buy the products upfront and let the review be a true one, not swayed by the manufacturer. Hope you got some value out of it!
Sorry, just a question - would you be able to do an update video of your ongoing experience of the new cush drive rear wheel? And related to this, any way you could provide details of the wheel as I'm having a devil of a time trying to find the correct one for the Husky 501...Thanks in advance if you get the time.
Hey Dizzy I'll do an update soon. As for the exact wheel, if you search the kke site or ebay for this: "KKE 21/18 Cush Drive Wheels Set for KTM EXC EXC-F XCW 125-530 2003-2022 Disc" That's what I got. As for Husky, not sure about KKE... a mate bought some pretty sick blue ones for his 501 from JTR Racing in Queensland. Hope that helps!
@@keithjob Hi Keith, thanks for taking the time to respond. I'll check out JTR! Looking forward to the update as well.
Great vid as always! Quick question, what three different cameras did you use for this? Enjoyed the different views.
Canon 70D for close up RHS shot. Canon G7X for wide LHS shot. Insta360 GO2 worn on my shirt for POV shots. Audio recorded via Rode wireless mic into the 70D.
@@keithjob Thank you.
where do you get these volley straps?
Aren't they great? I got mine from a cycling shop in Melbourne, Curve Cycling.
www.curvecycling.com.au/products/voile-staps?variant=41830170329264
right off track , where did you get that contour pattern t-shirt ? Rack was nice.
yeah that's pretty off-track! 😂 It's a Mountain Designs shirt. I think I got it from Anaconda.
Brilliant vid thank you Keith!!
Glad you liked it!
Nice demo of how these work. I have been thinking about this system for my 500. If you don't mind me asking, what brand wind shield is that? Cheers
Bajaworx www.bajaworx.com/enduro-windshield.html
@@keithjob Thnx!
$622 US Shipped. It would want to be good. Ouch.
Agree the shipping is an absolute killer 😩. George says it's also getting really expensive within the US states too. We need more of these companies in Australia!
don't need one, just use Giant loop Mojavi and you all set.
Your coupon has already reached the maximum number of uses :)
I'll get George to check that....
Should be fixed!
@@keithjob yep! working :)
Gold
I had one on my 2020 model. The mount that goes under the seat snapped pretty quickly. Including powder coat it was only 1.6mm thick. I had a new one made up that's 3mm thick and haven't had an issue.
@@rohanyorston8745 Hi Rohan, I am sorry to hear that you had some problem with my rack. Please if you can share some photos I will really appreciate that. I was just checking emails from you but I didn't find any complains about that problem. Thanks George
@@georgeglobetrottin hi mate. I'll see if I still have any photos. I didn't bother you at the time, you were pretty busy back then dealing with all the covid delays etc. Thought I'd just get a new one made up locally.
Does anyone have George's phone number? Having issues getting anyone to respond to my emails. Thanks!
Brilliant video
Thanks!
Have close to 8,000 miles on my rack with my 60lb husky riding on the back along with 70L worth of panniers on my ktm 500. Just lived off of it for 2 months in mexico and the rack did great. @devineadventure if anyone wants to see the proof lol.
Yes!))
