Did I hear that right? That the suspect had ALL seven children barricaded in the room with him? The three responders killed and another in critical condition is traumatic enough, now we have seven children who will have life long trauma because of a father/mother I'm assuming? Just disgusting and tragic!

Something is strange they aren't revealing the shooters identity or why he started shooting! There were multiple cops on scene, including swat...they know exactly who the shooter is and why this turned violent! You don't just go into someone's home at 5:30 in the morning...that is a recipe for disaster!
My nephew just became a police chief in a small community in southern Ohio. I worry everyday. He just adopted 2 young children and has a 24 yr old son. My niece has health issues. My heart breaks for the terrible loss of these 3 young men. 😢

Shannon Gooden, 5'6" 170lb black male was the shooter, he was identified on public police scanner logs released by Dakota county, where Burnsville is located. He was also unlawfully possessing firearms as he was a convicted violent criminal.

Something so senseless as this tragedy which is being addressed now, is just that and it's a far, far reaching sense of loss and sorrow, frustration as we search for any one thing to somehow make this easier to assimilate as just part of the sacrifice public servants make as they perform their sworn duties to protect and to serve us all. I see and can almost feel their pain at losing their partners.. I am going to take this time to interject some words, unrelated but do concern a tragedy.. Losing someone close is devastating, ruins lives and stays with us forever. I will say this again, I understand the pain and sorrow these folks are feeling, I have lost family and friends ... I know that many Police, I would like to say most are good but.. I just don't feel I can. When speaking of the general public , I will say most of us are good people .. This just brought back the tragedy of George Floyd. Tragic in so many ways but mostly because it reminded many of Public Lynching ...I know it felt this way to myself and even though I never heard of George prior to his execution at the hands of Police as he pleaded along with members of society, pleaded with the (Persons) responsible to let him live...We all know how that ended ... What I want to tell the Police is this .. All life is Precious and All life matters ..
