    Got one today, 57.00$ they said it was collecting to much dust and let me have it at cost. It’s a great tool. Slick paint work BTW.

    Glad I ran across this tool. Not only will this work to get rid of some sags I have on my topper, but think about all the rock chips it can help remove after they have been touched up with base/clear. Sure beats the heck out of spot sanding them smooth. Word of caution though, Don't Drop IT! Carbide holds an edge for a very long time, but it is also brittle and can shatter if dropped. I have two carbide scribes. Use to have one, then dropped it off the work bench.

    I just got it, need to fill some rock chips, I hope it works like you said. I paid 85 fazools, but I think it pays for itself in extra equipment, tools and time. Let's see. Thanks for the video.

    Might have to try this , I’ve been using the razor blade method

  • @zachnuketown
    @zachnuketown 2 года назад +1

    The first run I tried removing with this tool I ruined. Since then I've used it on nibs with success. I still prefer a bent razor blade with fine tape on either corner for runs though. I've also tried regular nib files with varying success but still prefer the trusty blade. I'm waiting for a good opportunity to try the polyester filler trick that many swear by. I just don't have the balls fo take 320 to fresh paint work lol.

      When you put putty on them it can stain the paint and print it, unless really cured dry. I still use tape and 400 grit wetsand on up through to 1500. And of course 3000 5000 amd 8000

    Great video...I have seen this before but where the HECK do you buy it ? The only place I see is online from Australia at $101 (not sure if that us US dollars). Is there any US distributor ? Thanks and thanks for the great demo

      Robert Arco it is a 3M product so you may be able to contact them directly. If you have a auto body supply store in your area they may be able to get one for you if they are a 3M distributor. I got mine at English Color Supply in Murfreesboro, TN. There number is 1-615-893-2780, you can contact them and see if they will ship you one. Thanks for watching and have a great day.

    These seem to have came down well in price in the UK at least. They're around £53 now I think I remember them being £85+ . The Mirka Shark Blade alternative is under £30.

    The tool is meant to be flat, resting on the string. Not 35 degrees. It's also not meant to be dragged along such large passes.

    How is it any different from a razor blade? Seems way overpriced and marketed with hype. I'm not convinced.

    Do you think this tool would work on rounded areas? I have a good run/sag on the rounded portion of the wheel fender flare on my 1/4 panel. I put on four coats of clear so I have lots to work with.

    a razor blade with tape on the ends does the same thing

    • @acdii
      @acdii 4 года назад

      Yes it can, but the blade does flex, and dulls quickly and can ruin the finish in a blink of an eye. Been there, done that, cussed worse than a drunken sailor. This is actually a very useful product even for a regular car guy.
