Adam is colourblind and Steph has a neurological disorder which means she has a tremor, this throws some extra obstacles our way when it comes to creating art but we still enjoy the process anyway! Seeing Adamo using watercolor without watering it down a bunch was interesting to see. I also really like Steph’s picture, the idea is really neat.
This coming a week later actually really worked out well for my schedule. 😅 I was out for a 🏹 competition last week.

I love it when I get a new set of paints I always keep all the little paper wrappers to paste in my current journal to write all kinds of nice things about the Color’s when I use them. It’s nice to see a company reaching out to gift you things to try out you two should be getting way more companies sending you things everyone loves it when Sunday arrives cause it’s time for doodledate.

I have the older version of their 48-color set and I love it to bits. I like the older plain bubblegum pink tin box though

I was a huge fan of your channel when I was in middle school and super into art. 7 years later and I’m 19 now, I no longer do much art but I still consider myself a creative person and love to craft. You two have always been such an inspiration for me. Recently I’ve gotten back into your videos, watching you fills me with such nostalgia and helps me unwind after hard days. Keep doing what you’re doing, it makes a difference ❤️

Hullo Steph & Adam, I did purchase the Pink Palette for my wife and then re-loaded it with DaVinci watercolor pants! They are also Professional grade paints. I know that many people believe that China has used the recipe from the Rubens paints for other paint lines they are selling at a discount. Sometimes using not as professional grade pigments and some believe that they have even started cutting costs with the Rubens paints too. I am glad your enjoying these paints. BOTH OF THE ARTWORKS LOOK LOVELY!

I love unwrapping paint pans. One of the etsy shops I get handmade paints from uses colourful foil which increases the sweetie vibes. I also regularly get chocolate on my paper.
These look incredible, your art very much shows them off well. I love both pictures and the ideas behind them so much. I want the mermaid who owns the vase to meet the star maker and fall in love and have trists (sp?) on the horizon where the sky meets the sea.

love the colors yall chose! the finial pieces turned out so nice! steph, your sea vase reminds me of my creek days as a kid. i would find so many old glass bottles covered in algea, snails, and various aquatic plants that i would use to decorate my woodland hideaways!

By a huge coincidence, I was painting a watercolour piece on that exact paper this afternoon! It is sparkly, and the spangliness (it’s a word, don’t judge! 😁) stays even after it’s been painted on. I love the way it makes every colour look just a little magical, in a subtle way, and it can take a fair amount of water as it’s 100% cotton. I do have a set of the Rubens watercolours too, though they’re currently about 5000 miles away from where I am, so I used my Rosa Gallery paints instead.

oh yeah if theres one thing the paul rubens does well, its their packaging!! always looks beautiful :)) but i do like the paints as well, i bought their flower matching set a few years back!

Watercolor pigment nerd here, just wanted to pop,in and let Adam know that the blue he loved so much is Ultramarine Blue. I recognized the pigment code on the swatch card (PB29). It’s a great pigment, most granulate beautifully and are such lovely warm blues. Plus if you mix it with other colors, it’ll make them granulate too and you can get cool effects.

The Paul Rubens paints are lovely! They're not my faves my any means (Sennelier/random handmade paint my beloved) but they're consistent and reliable so I can always recommend them :)

Less chalkiness than student grade and decent lightfastness on the Blue Wool Scale (each color is different).
These are just so dang smooooooth!
I may be late to the game (aka video) but I love the concepts you both came up with, and man was it a joy seeing you enthuse over the watercolours ☺They definitely are lovely and vibrant, and made me think of my own exploration of the coast, like seeing little anemones and limpets!

I went to check the price on the watercolours and I will be honest: I was expecting them to cost way more!! They are so stunning and pigmented.

I'm kind of shocked that Adam didn't water his pigments down to homeopathic levels like usual! Thats an endorsement if i ever saw one! The paints look lovely, it's a shame I don't do watercolour or I'd be all over them❤
I love Paul Ruben paints! I am glad the company sent you some. Question: When writing the names on the half pans, do you also write the pigment numbers on the other side of the half pans? I was thinking that the blue dress was an ultramarine blue (Pb 29), but I am not sure. The paints are cool.
It’s Chinese! Mandarin is the spoken dialect. Written Chinese is more or less the same across regions. China uses Simplified Chinese and Taiwan uses Traditional Chinese- but it’s similar enough for the most part to be mutually legible. Mandarin is the official dialect and the one used by the government and it’s what people usually mean when they’re asked if someone “speaks Chinese,” but depending on the region, Chinese people speak a variety of dialects.
