  • In this video I used high quality video recording to make a comparison between the Singularity and the ECHOES update, which introduced FSR 2.0 to improve the game's visual and framerate. Let's find out how it performs!

    this update is miraculous, I open my game to test and the difference is insane, everything looks much sharper and with a higher resolution, it doesn't have that blurry appearance anymore and the textures don't look like PS2 anymore (that's from the little I tested in portable mode, I haven't tested it on TV yet)

    Crazy news today with a Switch 2 using DLSS 3++. So this No Man Sky is the 1st Switch game that used FSR2. Previous Switch games only used FSR1

    This game is amazing. I played it way back at launch and even in spite of how limited and buggy the game was, the atmosphere and sound still managed to hold my attention. Just started playing it again on my steam deck and I can’t believe the game it is now.
    It’s the perfect, relaxing game to play after a long day of work. I’m so glad to see the switch port is well supported.

    I've been noticing improvements with each update I don't think it's mandatory but neat that they add points regarding performance on switch most of the it's not just the Switch it's also Garbo code and other Garbo that does not impact performance on other platforms that can run any spaghetti code you throw at it... who needs a good coder when you have more power than you realistically need or use under the hood, but damn after echoes the game became a joy to play, too bad nobody noticed even Nintendo Life only made an article about the improved performance because they added a couple of lines about improving performance on the switch version on the last patch notes😂 Goes to show, devs should hide this kind of stuff from the patch notes, tells you who actually cares about your stupid game.

    Great video. I am very happy with this update. I can actually enjoy the game on Switch now. I had a few graphics problems last night that actually scared me enough I cut my Switch off. It was very strange. On a graphic demanding planet I first noticed in space the clouds were looking strange. Like blobby and very strange color shifting. Then on the planet during a storm these crazy thick lines started showing up. Almost like I was squeezing a lcd screen. Big black areas like the screen was overheating and melting. I've never seen anything like it. I got concerned and quit the game and even powered off the Switch. That's very rate for it to actually be powered off and not in stand by mode.

    Watching NMS go from bare bones nothing to one of the biggest sci fi games out there to date was like watching a kid growing up. Seeing NMS Next update get teased was absolutely awesome and to be honest i really do kinda miss the early first person days of the game (playing the very first iteration on Christmas Day was a blast aha) but im glad its come so far, better late than never i suppose. As someone who played this game on and off ever since it first came out, i really gotta get back into it and give it another good go. I hope Starfield can evolve like this because i love sci fi to death and there’s nothing i hate more than wasted potential. No signs of slowing down, so proud of Hello Games. Brilliant video 💙

    But is it really FSR 2.0? I thought the switch could only handle FSR 1.0. Tears of the kingdom looks very sharp with it but lacks any form of anti aliasing. I'm thinking it's 1.0 with TAA at work, it does looks really smooth and cleaner now.

      O motor gráfico desse jogo comporta diferente do de Zelda, por isso que Zelda é bem melhor trabalhado, porque a Nintendo é mestra nisso. Ainda assim NMS do Switch com FSR 2.0 já é um grande avanço vindo da Hello Games.

    It will be the memory bandwidth causing a bulk of the issues now,

    • @bloomingtails
      @bloomingtails  8 месяцев назад +4

      True, this is one the Switch's worst weak point, Zelda TOTK suffers a lot from it

    • @gersongaete1574
      @gersongaete1574 8 месяцев назад

      @@bloomingtails if you can jailbreak your switch, you could try to OC the memory. I seen people completely fix framerate dips in TOTK by just overclocking the memory a little bit, not even touching the core clock speeds or anything else, just some extra mhz to the memory and hte game runs at 30fps no matter what.

    • @bloomingtails
      @bloomingtails  8 месяцев назад +1

      @@gersongaete1574 Well here it's different: overclocking the RAM will not solve all the issues. TOTK is heavily depending on RAM speed because the game stores positions, rotations, vectors etc of a lot of physics gameobjects for the Recall ability in real time, so it makes sense RAM speed is the culprit. But for No Man's Sky it's more the storage for the assets in the RAM that is to bother, 4GB being little and I am pretty sure it's not to blame for the framerate, but the rendering and GPU power are to blame. If you summon a capital ship and exocrafts on the planet it kills the performances because of that since the game needs more time to draw the extra polygons per frame.

Look at the end of the video and you'll see the smoother experience you'll encounter on other planets, if better!
