I shot my 8 pointer last year with the XL's 125gr. Dropped 30yrds from the shot. Went throught the onside shoulder. Love them! Congrats on the 10!! Good luck this year. Take care and God bless. -Love from NH
@@-lovefromnh I’m trying out their solid heads this year. So far the 125s fly true. I’m going to try their 100 grain ones as well. Good luck to you as well. Aim small, miss small 🤙🏻🏹
Peterson bowhunting does the test using large ziploc type bags which would simulate soft tissue better and let's the broadheads do their cutting. Shot placement and confidence in your arrows and broadheads is what really matters.
I’ve been shooting magnus black hornets for the last 2 years. I’ve killed 3 deer with them and have had complete pass throughs on all 3. They are really accurate too.
I’ve always wondered what it’d be like using a watermelon. Cutting the rind off, leaving the inside flat or square. Exposing the soft part of the watermelon. Then getting a cheap rack of ribs to some how attach it to the watermelon. Then do a damage test with broadheads. Ribs could simulate the meat and ribs of a deer. While the watermelon could do a okay job simulating the lungs.
This is a fun test, but it really does not give any accuracy for real life bleed out. Broadheads that cut a coring hole always shine in this test, but seem to fail in penetration and durability tests. Great job guys!
I like how you told us how this test was basically pointless, then did it anyway. Putting in the man hours, so we don’t have to. 😂 love the videos and gear just havin fun
Cool test I've been having great luck past few yrs with sevr on whitetail and exodus on elk besides trying the afflictor hybrid k2 last season it didn't perform well both deer I shot were 10 rings and well over 100yrd tracks with both heads destroyed so im back to sevr have never had anything make it outta sight with 30+ kills and awesome blood trails just wish they came alil sharper but regardless I strop everything before it hits the quiver i recently got a set of iron will wides so gonna play ard with them but they'll have to be damn good to nock out my old reliable sevr's
Probably switched to a more dull, less penetrating, less structural integrity. Bold move cotton… let’s see how it pays off. Why is everyone worried about blood trails? Shoot the thing in the vital V and go pick it up 50 yards later. Blood trails are totally unpredictable, no matter what head you use.
@@garrettrowe7917 I've been bowhunting long enough to know blood trails matter. I dont care how good you think you are crap happens in the woods. cotton?
Besides shooting a cinder block or steel plate, this is probably the most irrelevant test. Why doesn’t anyone look at penetration through animal mediums, or sharpness? Everyone always assumes that the most cutting diameter causes most bleeding, but it don’t matter how big the cut is if it’s dull. If you can’t sharpen it and if it doesn’t have good enough steel to hold an edge through hide, muscle bone… it’s junk.
Great video! I have shot grim reaper whitetail specials for 6 years and have had 0 issues with penetration, opening issues or recovering any deer I’ve hit with them. They have been an awesome mechanical head
I sure hope people don't think this test means anything in the real world.
I shot my 10 point last year with a tooth of the arrow. Love them, deadly accurate

Grim reapers are the bomb. Consider them and you will not be sorry 🇺🇸

Agree this method of testing is flawed for the exact reason you mention.

I shot a doe with the afflictor hybrid mini and it didn’t do to good, I’m shooting exodus this year.
Need to time it to a designated spot on the jug not where are the Broadhead hit!
Broad heads hit hi and Lo giving different times.
I would like to see this test with mechanical broadheads and use the grim reaper whitetail special pro series
Single bevel broadheads suck for blood trails. Thats why I stopped using cutthroat single bevel broadheads.

I shoot the toxic’s and I’m betting if you put it up against the winner it would out preform it
