My backlog is huge. I am starting ff4 tonight. This video has convinced me to rethink my backlog as not just a pile of boxes but as a list of unique experiences to enjoy one by one.
That’s awesome to hear. FFIV is one of my favorite games. I hope you enjoy it!
It's been 1 year, so how did that go?
@@huevonesunltd Thank you for asking! I've beaten many games since then including multiple final fantasy games. Some of my favorites have been borderlands 2, dark souls 2, transformers devastation, and mega man x4.
Ff4 advance was really fun. Rosa carried my late game ooof
The amount of games i haven't even STARTED
is fkn scary
Try a backlog draft!
I knocked a giant chunk out of my backlog in quarantine and now I beat em as I get em and feel great. Gamer score is nuts too. Now I just watch these videos to see what outlandish random games are being played in the background. It’s like some sort of victory lap lol
There are TOO many games out there. Congrats on beating yours!
Dude. You alone have done what tons of video essays on "backlogs" haven't. Get me excited about beating my backlog and turning it into something I can actually do. So thanks! Can't wait to get working on it! Also I'm absolutely gonna check out your discord.
Glad to help! Welcome to the discord. I think gamification is the key.
@@ChrimChrimbo yeah definitely
I always go overboard when I get new gaming systems. I'm not complaining, I love the excitement I feel collecting new games for my new toys haha. But yeah, just like everyone...I play the games for a bit, then never touch them again.
I've started the process of getting through some of those games this year and I'm having a blast so far!
Yes! It takes time to get into a good system but it's worth it to finally get through everything (and weed out the crap.)
Ironically I just finished mine today after about 2 years, it included me buying new games here and there and I like to platinum most of my games. Some of those makes life difficult like devil may cry 5. But with enough dedication to it anyone can kill off their backlog. And trust me if u have a big one like I did kill is a good term for it.
One of the nice things about playing Backlog Golf is that you can lose more points for getting platinums or 100%ing a game. When I first played BG, it made me seriously consider, and ultimately 100% a number of games.
Great job on killing your backlog! You are right, killing it is the right term.
I've actually been doing really good with mine recently; just platinumed mw remastered, persona 5 royal, and skyrim a bit ago lol. Finally.
Nice! I think I platinums MW back in the day. Did you have to do mile high club or was that MWII?
@@ChrimChrimbo Yeah the one with mile high, I have to be honest though, I cheated that level haha
@@jonathonnicholson5651 aw no fun. I grinded it out forever to get it back in the day.
@@ChrimChrimbo I feel it, I couldnt do it again haha
My backlog is… hundreds. I’m scared to find out. But I’m ready to face my fears!!! Thanks for the encouragement 👍🏼
It’s a long road but it’s worth it!
My backlog is HUGE! No kidding. Due to a illness I couldn't game, my fav. hobby, for quite some time. Ty for this vid. I thought it was just me. hehe
Step nr1 for me is stop collecting.
Yes! The plan is to buy less and enjoy what you have. Great start.
Backlog is 670 on steam and I’m really excited to play through the old d&d games
Nice! I’ve wanted to play those for a long long time.
You make way too good videos for how few subs you have. Totally deserve more haha. Great video
I truly appreciate your kind words. RUclips growth is a long marathon, so I'm hoping the channel will continue growing. We will see.
Smart. Great work
Thanks!
*Pauses video and counts all Steam games in YTs digital library*
"Not everyone will have a backlog as big as mine."
*Remembers size of own library*
Me: "Nope, I'll never finish mine."
YOU CAN DO IT! I've been working through mine and it's getting done!
Guessing I've beat around 10% of all games I own/have a copy of:
3DS library: around 20
Switch: 10-15
PS4: around 25
Origin: around 25
GOG: 350+
Steam: 879
Emulation ROMs: (infinite?)
"You can do it!"
**Presses X to doubt**
I appreciate the encouragement though =)
@@renewagain6956 Ok, you win you have more than I!
If you discover the fountain of youth, let me know. I think I might stand a chance in that case. xD
Lmao "responsible owners"
you are a responsible owner kind of
My backlog is only 5 games, yet I'm watching this video.
Welcome, and as long as you stick to a 5 game backlog, you actually have an achievable goal to finish!
Got like 5 games left in backlog, the rest is side dishes, almost there. It's been a long road, fortunately, enjoyed most of it...except certain jrpgs with a lot of filler content(Looking at you, Persona 5, Star Ocean TDF)
Amazing work! EXCEPT YOU DIDN'T LIKE P5?????
I'm gonna sub, this channel will be gold
lets goooooo
very underrated I subscribe :D
Thanks!
Wow! My 20-game backlog looks insignificant compared to yours! :D
20 games means you'll actually get them all beaten!
In the realm of actually playing games from your backlog, without using the draft or golf method, do you think it is a good idea to allow yourself to play more than one game at a time or is it best to only play one?
Yeah, I think the bottom line is: are you having fun?
If you find it most fun to play 3-4 games at a time, then go for it!
If you often find yourself starting a bunch of games and not finishing them, it might be a good idea to try focusing down 1 or 2 at a time instead.
If you're going to beat your backlog, I recommend you use something like a belt, or perhaps a slipper.
HOW INSIGHTFUL
Starting today 🥊
How did it go?
@@ChrimChrimbogreat i got finally Last of us i Put that away for 2 years and starting Last of us Part 2 tomorrow 👍🏻
@@Trophykingxxl1 NICE! Good job.
@@ChrimChrimbo thanks man i Give my best 🙏🏻
A good way to tackle a backlog is to compete with your friends list on monthly gamer score leaderboards on xbox
This is a great idea! I hadn't thought about it before. You could do the same with steam achievements or PS4 trophies.
My issue is that I always want at least 10 hours played to feel satisfied with it. Luckily, it means I go back to games I tried for only an hour. Most games I play go up to 50+ hours.
Interesting. Where does the 10 hour mark come from?
@@ChrimChrimbo it's just the lowest double digit. I like seeing that my purchase was worth it, not a waste for a couple of hours of my time. I feel like I'd be better off watching a movie in that case.
How am I supposed to beat the backlog when so many games get added to it every year? I managed to only buy 6 games last year but I'm kinda up to 9 games bought in 2023
There are a number of ways, but sitting down to play them is how to get started!
I was here before 1k
Me too!
How do you know you beaten a rougelike? When do you take it out from the backlog?
It depends, but typically once you get credits rolling. That's how I measure it at least.
@Make You Seethe vampire survivor, 20 minutes til dawn.
In Hades you have to play through 10 times, to see end credit. So, you beat it, with 1 playthrough or 10? Dead cells has similar style has to beat in bc5 dificulty to find the final boss. In Returnal the end credit appears in end of act 2 but there are an act3. You beaten if you just do the 2nd act?
I have a ghazzillion games. Even for PAID games that are backlogged.
SAME. Backlogs are hard.
Ok when I have time I’m counting
ok!
I have 117 games in my backlog and still more I plan to buy lol
Same. There's always another game...
@@ChrimChrimbo the way I’ve been trying to get through it is making a list of every game and sorting them by year. Then I started at the oldest year and work my way up

When were we going to play backlog golf in the discord???
I'm down anytime. I've been interested in trying the draft too.
@@ChrimChrimbo I vote draft.
Need to work away 300 games
Yikes! I feel you though. If you are interested, we are starting a backlog golf game in our discord this week!
What game is that at 1:43
Hey! That's Mothergunship. It's kind of like Doom and legos and FTL and smashed together. You build your guns based on parts you find, so you can create all kinds of weird gun combinations.
@@ChrimChrimbo Yeah it reminded me of doom. Thanks for the reply
please help im lost 😔
Join our discord! We are starting a new backlog draft soon.
@@ChrimChrimbo thank you
Try fighting backlog with ADHD. It's worse. 😩
Literally same for me. It’s tough. I just put out another video talking about this very issue!
@@ChrimChrimbo Really? Can you sent me the link?
@@AbeVsTheWorld Not sure if I can link here, but it's my video on analysis paralysis.
Just stop rushing your backlogs , and just don't pressur yourself. The thing is that many people can easily play 900h to 1200h to whatever League of legends or Apex legends typa games, but can't start a 8h game like hellblade lol. Imagine if you used 1200h for your backlog ,it would've been done.
