  • Trying out a new video idea where I walk the viewer through my thoughts on various things gaming related on a conceptual level. I want to call it the "Conceptual Compendium". I hope you enjoy the video
I do not own the rights to any music used in the video.
I also (unless specified) did not create any of the images used in the video.

When you start getting into Emulation you gonna unlock thousands of title of backlog, now I just choose whatever I feel like

Seriously. I already have dozens of purchased games I haven’t played. Now I also have emulation. I have a whole excel spreadsheet that is a game of its own in organizing what I’ll play next lol

Good video!! Bit heavy on the split second text gags, though--I'm often on mobile and it's a pain to read them all. Would you mind keeping them on screen a bit longer? Other than that, this was great and really made me appreciate the positives of something generally spoken of negatively in the community. Keep it up!

This here, split second is annoying and detracts from the video for me unless I rapid pause and rewind.

I've been collecting games for about a year and a half now. It has led me to having a backlog for the first time ever. At the beginning, I was kind of worried that I would never get around to them and I would feel bad about purchasing them without the intent to play. But now, I think it's for the best. Bringing myself to play a game in my backlog can be hard, but I always feel better in the end and it's always good to know you have a fun experience for a rainy day.

Couldn't agree more. Just because you haven't gotten around to a game or system yet doesn't mean you'll never get to it. I personally believe that most of us have a lot of time to play a lot of games, and you'll get around to everything eventually.

At this point I have realized I am much more a game collector (/entertainment value potential collector) than I am an actual gamer. Needless to say, I have a backlog I will NEVER get to before I die.

If it weren't for my extensive backlog of games, I dare say that I would hardly have any log at all!

I like your video a lot, but I will say, you have a lot of quick key frames of text, throughout the video, that you have to pause constantly, in order to read them lmfao! Other than that, solid ass video, homie, keep up the content, I can't wait to see what you do in the future! :)

Organizing my backlog is a game of its own for me. I organize it by genre, time to beat, review score, franchise, and console generation. I prioritize shorter games. And I like to play two games, one older and one newer game at a time.

About 2% of games on PSN are worth a damn. It's crazy to think about. Not just the random mobile and flash games but console experiences.

Same with the finishing games god knows there's no reason to play sonic 3d blast and it's not an enjoyable gameplay experience but I forced myself to

I feel like the only reason to have a backlog is the discover what you like and we don't like. I like Zelda games real time strategy games Ys games and Spyro the dragon. Mario 64 was the only good 3D Mario game I played Mario Odyssey does not have the spirit and I felt like it was a waste of time. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 had a wonderful story but the tutorial was incredibly annoying. Zelda games and anything that are fantasy action adventures like Kena Bridge of spirits are usually really good. My dad played command and conquer Red alert and as a result I love real time strategy games.

Oh man. I’m jealous of you. I wish I could play resident evil games over again. Unpopular opinion but you can leave code Veronica for last. It was truly amazing for its time but hasn’t aged as well as the original trilogy. 5 and 6 are alright. I’d wait for remakes of those. Skip the first game and play the HD remaster. But do play the OG 2/3.
    My recommendation would be
    Resident Evil HD remake
    RE 2
    RE 3
    RE 2 remake
    RE 3 remake
    RE 4 remake
    RE 7
    RE village
Then go back and try 0, code Veronica, 5, 6, and the revelations games if you like. These games haven’t aged as well but they still have their fans that would disagree with me leaving them off my essentials list. I actually really enjoy 0 with a few mods. I try to turn my brain off and just enjoy the atmosphere. But I know I’m in the minority on that one.
Despite it being one of my all time favorites I feel like the remake has made RE4 redundant. But there’s an upscale mod that makes that game quite amazing on its own.
So, I still think it’s worthwhile to play it. Just not necessary. I like to say this franchise is not about scaring you. It is horror in a different sense. It’s about making you uncomfortable and then providing you the tools to make yourself comfortable. That comfort you get is like nothing else for me. Solving a puzzle, saving enough ammo to overpower the next fight. Getting to a save room. Uncovering the mysteries of the environment and story. It’s crack! Despite the games taking place in often gross environments and being filled with monsters. They are some of the most cozy games I can think of. It’s so weird. But I promise you. They are cozy. It’s not nostalgia either. I believe it’s deliberately designed that way.
