The other week, I had 9 orders due over 2 days, plus working a 6+ hour day at my part-time job one of those days. I went from not even one a month in my first year, to at least one a week in my second year!
My orders worked out well, after all the mishaps. I got my first long distance order. Meaning the order is not in my parish (we also called it another Country here in Jamaica), you would call it another State in America. I sent it off today, and guess what?! I got another parish 😂😂 thank God. You have no idea how happy I am, and taking your tips help me out a lot. I know it can be overwhelming. I am a Single Moma and I have a full time job 🥴 I'm so tired at the moment, but I have to make a way for my daughter, Dad, and others. Thanks again! I started my Home Bakery today, and oh Lord the obstacles were there on point. I didn't give up, I took a break and went and prayed. Father God is always on point, ready to add peace. The cake turned out beautiful, gorgeous actually. Sorry that you had a tough time with the florist! If they did not treat you well can you consider shopping somewhere else?! After some time you may think differently about the whole experience but whatever you decide, your feelings are absolutely valid and you know when something is off. Beautiful work, great job persevering under pressure. I'm so mad with how this floral shop handled you and I really don't understand why they didn't have flowers on hand to show you in the cooler where you could have selected your own stems to fit your design. (Especially since they missed the mark and you were not happy) I hope you find another florist that is near you to meet your needs in the future.❤

Please keep doing these videos love how raw and uncut it is! and those FLOWERS were absolutely terrible honest nothing I would've got definitely looked like they were off the side of the road. Your feelings were definitely VALIDATED. Very disappointing that the cake didn't come out as you'd envisioned but, still came out BEAUTIFUL!

My mom got me flowers once and called all excited to get my reaction as she spent $85 on them (in 2006). All she requested is they look romantic and Victorian. ONE flower showed up in a TINY bunch of sprigs/weeds. She called them and made them resend an actual flower arrangement. Apparently this happens all the time.

Hi! Thank you so much! There’s a lot of factors that can affect results for everyone. But for me, I haven’t had a problem leaving the cake out at room temperature (room temp for us is in the 70’s). I’ve also used it outside and it’s held up great. Of course don’t leave it in the sun and for hours, but this is my personal experience with it!
I’m a sucker for these kinds of situations. There are plenty of times I paid for things that I was not happy with and didn’t combat. I made a promise to myself to never do business again but some of the situations were Ls I hated to take in that moment. At least you spoke about improvising or trying to get the florist to do their job by giving you what you asked for. I can’t stand confrontation because it gives me anxiety but I’m learning to speak up more especially if I’m not pleased with something. I’m good at not repeating business though. Nonetheless, cake turned out great despite the inconveniences.
The cake is looking beautiful. If I make a floral order & I they are not 9f my liking I wouldn't take them, they would have to give me one of those I saw & like in that fridge.
It's sad... the several times i have gone to a florist for flowers for a cake i have never gotten what i have asked for even when providing pictures and the prices are just so high. Not trying to belittle what they do because i know i am asking for a custom assortment. Buy I prefer faux flowers or going to the grocery store and winging it. And just letting customers know that that is how i roll. Plus using faux flowers i can save the leftovers and dont have to worry about them wilting etc.
Omg that cake is gorgeous, are those real flowers or edible? I always get requests for decorated cakes, but to be honest im not a cake decorator, im a baker, however i do admire cake decorators, the creativity, imagination and patience that goes into it, i cant. 🤣

Another great option for flowers are local growers. See if you can’t make a local contact! Many of them will let you come and pick your own. So sorry you had such an awful experience. ❤️
I believe when operating on a time frame and perfection. In Business you are able to see it from that point of view. My suggestion is to advertise your brand let them know that you are doing business not criticizing you have an audience you were doing them a favor for free. My love go back dedicate a video production for them hope to make that a contract you have many gifts!
I let them know what it was for but I don’t like to advertise who I am. Especially because j the new town I’m in. I’ve had some interesting happenings so I just try to seem as “normal” as possible. People can be really weird.

We have to laugh over the mishaps 😂😅 I got a new oven, it wouldn't light, then the gas is out, then the ink wasn't working, all the internet Cafe that I know of were closed, yes closed 😅😂 normally I would cry, but not TODAY 😅 I went and prayed instead. Glory to God it ends well.

You shouldn't have paid for those., why didn't you say they were ugly and not what you wanted. I would have walked right out and told them I was disappointed . You should have gone to another flower shop or even go to the grocery store for their flower. Also if you're a baker you should qualify for a business license to get flowers directly at the wholesale flower market. You need to do that instead of ever going back to that place again.
You’re right. I’m learning to operate more business minded and not personally and business wise, that is what I should have done. Personally I rarely ever return or deny something I’m in the midst of paying for, but that doesn’t work when running a business. I also wasn’t aware of going to the wholesaler myself. There’s another florist I intend on working with on future orders, but yes I chose Walmart for my cakes coming up in my next videos. Thank you for sharing this!

Some people don't care about customization, just cost. If it tastes good enough and looks good enough to a client/customer, they'll pay whatever they perceive that value to be. In your case, the flowers on the side of the road were better quality, free, and didn't come with a side of attitude 😂

We grow our own edible flowers. You should try that. Never wait for flowers again.
