Thanks for the video.
Just a tip to help take the rotors off after you get the screws out. Grab two 8M x 1.25 bolts and screw them into the other two empty holes on the face of the rotor. Alternate screwing each one a few turns at a time. Saw this on another vid and tried it. Rotor pops off easily.
I never seen a set of lug nuts move that fast in my whole life, lol. Awesome cool video. Jim, you are a Super Good Person. To take time to show the viewers how to do this at home. You are just an all around good person. Thank you so much for sharing your video. I truly hope you have a Blessed Week. God Bless You.
This is exactly what i was looking for...a step by step. Thank you millions. Your work is clean
I'm ready to do my first brake replacement on my 2008 Honda CRV. Thanks for the confidence building video Jim. You're the best!

I'm happy to help. Thanks for watching.
Thank you. It's any brand for breaks and rotors you can recommend?
Thanks for this great video. Very interesting and well explained.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Jim, I’m really surprised that you didn’t have a jack stand under the car. I would under no circumstance rely on the jack. I realize you are showing us how to do this kind of work in the garage with basic tools, but I consider a jack stand a basic tool also. Love your videos and keep up the good work👍🏻
At least he had the wheel underneath the car to prevent the car from falling completely if jack failed.
Wow, what an great informative video, Jim. 2 thumbs up!
So on our 2011 CRV AWD EX I noticed what looks like some sort of hollow round-form gasket now starting to bulge out from the DS front rotor -- it's in a inset groove where the hub is cast onto the disk.
Never seen this before. Is this something that's normally built into the rotor -- any idea what this is? Thanks.
So Jim, Do you torque the caliper bracket bolts or the caliper mounting bolts or is it just a guess to tightness
Hello Jim, I have a good one for you. I have a 1987 f150 with a I6 engine. We replaced the trans in it it started right up I took it for road test it did fine now after I was diving it home it cut of, now it only cranks over but it won't start. I checked spark all plugs are getting it , replaced distributor module check if it was turning it is nothing was touched in engine. I checked fuel pump fuel pressure it's up to specks I checked with a gauge and it show normal pressure I spayed starter fluid in the intake it act like it wants to start not.
Please help Joe
What is the wrench size to open pad clipper?
ahhh jim snap on tools for home nice! china rotors came a long way they are good and cheap no one cuts them anymore a good thing!
@n 14:00 pounding on that rotor is a good way to break it as cast iron is brittle.
When you get the two screws out, start the car, step on the brakes and put it in gear, go between drive and reverse a few times until you hear it come free, the torque will cause the disc and hub to move a little breaking it free.
This is only safe to do if all the drive wheels are off the ground.
Thanks for watching.
Nice view of your shoulder. Camera on right side of wheel well probably would have been better.
number1
Jim, that screw holding the rotor, is that really necessary? Is there any effect if that is removed and not put back?
an important step is to ensure to torque the wheel's lug nuts to spec
What was the jack point?
I made a video on jacking up a Honda CR-V right here: ruclips.net/video/APbyI2MLIqA/видео.html
don't forget to retorque wheels after you take it for a spin around the block
Thanks for watching.
Ever heard of PB Blaster, because you didn't try any rust lubricant at all...….
JIM EVERY BRAKE JOB I DO I ALWAYS PUT A THIN FILM OF BRAKE GREASE BETWEEN THE ROTOR AND HUB I NEVER HAVE ANY PROBLEMS GETTING ROTORS OFF THAT WAY MAYBE THIS IS SOMETHING YOU CAN IMPLEMENT INTO YOUR BRAKE JOBS
PLEASE DONT TAKE MY COMMENT AS TELLING YOU HOW TO DO YOUR JOB// AM JUST TRYING TO MAKE YOUR LIFE A LITTLE EASIER JIM
I don't use pry bar to push the piston back , instead I use C-clamp on the piston :) Also I use heavy hammer on the hand impact anvil; 3.5 lbs short handle sledge breaks the screw loose in one or two hits ruclips.net/video/4TLHtDB8uDE/видео.html
Remove brake rotor screw in ONE second

With the camera behind you I can't see what you're doing, you should have put the camera on the right upper side aiming down on the wheel.
I’m sorry I know he is a professional, but you never ever just use a floor jack to support your vehicle, you can leave it there as a preventive measure but ideally the car should be on a jack stand .
All those chicks were calling him 😉
camera in wrong place. seen too much of your back side.
To me, the most frustrating part is putting those dang pads back in! You just say tip in and thats it. Come on...show how you did that! Also, turn off your phone on the next video. That is sooo annoying!
I will remember that the next time I make a free video!!!!!! Your welcome
