@@mdabidhussain9621 EHAT filament are you using?
@@mdabidhussain9621 ok
At 7:00 for attaching z axis motor, you said m4x16 screws. It's the m4x18.
@@dortanid1506 ah thanks for that
Tip: If you got your Ender 3 recently, the M4X18 screws are used to fasten the z axis motor, rather than the M4X16 screws
Should've read the comments first 😂 thank you so much! I thought i was going crazy!!
yeah he just mis-said it, they use the M4X18 screws in this video too, you can read it on the bag he grabs
Bahaha I was just using the M4X16 then went crazy so I came to comments. Thank god I saw you bahahaha
Bless you kind soul
I wish I had read this before spending ages trying so hard to fix it with the 16s, heh. With the right screws it took a few seconds.
There was a point where I said screw it this video makes it too complicated. Then I pulled out the instructions, looked at them, and immediately went back to the video...
Same here...
the written instructions were TERRIBLE.
@wutmoorlord easy except afterwards.
This douche doesn’t explain well enough what side is what. I want to punch him in the face
@@noahblanchard4135 you should make a better video then! I'd love to see it before I get my printer.
6:52 this says m4x16. you need the m4x18 screws, he misspoke. this took me like an hour of frustration to realize
edit: thanks for the likes glad i could help
Same here! Ugh
Sameeeeeeeeee
Thanks
OMFG thank you 😖
Luckily I saw your comment after 15 minutes or I'd have been at it for 45 more minutes. Funny enough i got one of the screws barely in
Dude.
I watched this video the first time straight through, and today I just spent 3+ hours building this Ender 3 and getting it all set up. I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR YOUR EFFORTS!!! I would have been so lost if it was not for this video. I'm subscribing. Thank you!
Ikr took me 3 hrs too. The manual is just confusing.
The motor mount uses the m4*18 screws and not the m4*16, he says 16 in the video but you should realize that somethings off.
ryan d yeah you’re right I noticed that too. Thx for the comment I was able to confirm lol
I legit spent like 20 minutes trying to use the m4*16... thanks for the help lol
He also skipped step 7
Rip hour of my life
yep, figured it out when the 16s were too short and then looking at the video, You could see they were actually flat head which is what the 18s were. all in all a lot easier to watch and pause the video than to try to use the install guide that came with the printer.
Is anyone else watching this before they even get their ender 3
Perhaps I should have, I think my cable is on wrong side
Also, mount the spool holder the other way around. Some filament spools are wider and won't fit when assembled as shown.

i am. i like researching things before i buy.
Me
Just purchased a creality ender 3 hours ago, amazing staff, gave me a box of filament on the house. The owner is a kind man. I recommend anyone that can go here, go here. I am very impressed with the service.
I've had my Ender 3 for over a year sitting in its box... waiting for extra time / rainy day... Well I got a hip replacement last week and since I'm sitting around I decided it was time. The paper directions got me to the point of finishing the main assembly, but this video did the rest. It clearly explained all the adjustments that needed to be done. First print was a total success.
Thanks,
Sal
I just got one. Recently retired, will be putting together it together soon. I also had my left hip replaced 3yrs ago, life changing. Hope yours works out for you 👍
This is absolutely superb in the attention to detail and I followed it absolutely yesterday in the build of my first 3D printer the Ender 3x Pro. I watched it 3 times before I even received my printer! I found one tiny little error. At 34:40 you say the mounting screws for the Z-axis motor are M4x16. This is the wrong length, it should be M4x18. There actually are M4x16 screws in the kit, but the ones needed are the m4x18 countersunk heads. The video clearly shows countersunk screws but I did not see this at first and I went for the wrong screws. Well done, thank you so much for the best ever build video, and the voice is so reassuring.
Yes. I did the same mistake. But somehow checked elsewhere and found out this error. It will be good to add card or something at this location to rectify the same and help others. Thanks for the great video otherwise.
Yo I was stuck here for like 45 min thank you so much
I am so glad I happened to read this before I got there. Thank you for saving me the headache. Otherwise, this video is great. Straight to the point, no nonsense. This was the only way my ADHD self was going to get through this.
6:48 the speaker says to use two M4*16 screws but they're supposed to be M4*18 screws
How do you know?
@@jessemcdonough7558 In the video, the bag is labeled m4x18
@@WomboShlongo 😂 thanks I already built it 1 month ago though
bruh ,ty
I had to order a hole pack of screws for $22 because I thought I was missing a few M4 by 16 screws. turns out the M4 by 16 screws don't reach anyway
Tip - if when feeding in the filament, you can't get it all through the tube, use the change filament option on the printer. It will suck it in for you and keep extruding until some comes out
And I just find this now.
t h a n k y o u
Or just print a knob for the extruder and you won't even have to squeeze the lever.
Holy hell why isn't this the official instruction lol. That's an insane amount easier. So silly.
wasn´t necessary for me... did like the video instructed and all worked fine (as long as you pre-heated or followed all the steps)
I haven't been able to get the filaments going to the tube at all no matter what I try lol
Amazing video; you have just saved me hours trying to fathom the manufacturers terrible instructions.
This is my first 3D printer and you have just made the first step enjoyable for me.
My first print is currently running 🤞
Bro how have you found all the software? I’m struggling to understand how to get started with a picture I’d like done
Dude mine didn’t even come with instructions
How do you know what temperature to use?
@@lardj4954 ik man I also have a couple mates who also are f-ing around with softwares
Also did ur printer come with instructions ?
@@lardj4954I wanna help but it's been awhile
This is possibly the best instructional video I have ever seen. Thank you! Your method of explaining the action, why and possible pitfalls is the best damn thing.
Watched this in 2022 to help set up my Ender 3 pro. There were a few small differences between my printer and the one in the video but nothing major and the video really helped so much!
I have the Ender 3 Pro but I'm pretty sure the mounting of the Z stepper motor is the same on both. That being said, at 6:52 the M4*16 screws were too small and my directions said to use the M4*18 (I'm going back and forth between the video and the included instructions haha). That ended up working for me.
Just a tip for anyone else watching and potentially building their first printer like I am :)
thank you i was so confused
Halp my ender 3 is not working the filament is not going through the nozzle so i have to do it manually it also just randomly spews out filament before printing
Bro I was panicking! Thank you! Favorite person rn

You deserve some praise, I’m new to 3D printing and this was an absolutely massive help, I was tearing my hair out trying to figure out how to use my printer before I found this video. Thank you so much!!!!
Thanks! I watched this a couple times before assembling my Ender 3 and the process went very quickly. Spent time leveling the bed and the first print with Creality's sample PLA filament turned out great. Early success is encouraging!
I just wanted to say thank you so much. I very rarely comment on videos. I started reading the instructions, got VERY confused and put everything down. Tried to find youtube videos to help and yours was by far the best. I really appreciate you making this video!
Amazing guide, start to finish, got my ender 3 running out of the box, clear instructions and straight to the point, thank you 3d printing Canada, you guys are great
Great video and easy to follow. Unfortunately, my Ender 3 did not come with the long Zed screw. Trying to get the folks I got it from together me one now. Other than that, once I get it I'll be able to level my plate, and get started. Also, My flash drive did not come with one of the execute files which would have enabled me to work with printable files. I will have time to locate one while I wait for the Zed screw.
I'm so looking forward to getting started and finding the best filaments at the best prices.
I will, as many have done before me, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the quality of this guiding video. As someone starting in the 3D printing world, i would have struggled so much more without your clear and precise advices. We are very grateful for your help !
Building this thing was an absolute joy. It came with every tool that you need! Even clippers! And a USB card reader? Damn
Perhaps the most useful video on the subject. Thank you!
You guys are amazing. This saved me from hours of internet searching. Printing the doggy now!
yea, nice video, but a warning should be included before printing that stupid dog that takes hours!
@@neobikes How many? to be more precise... Mine broke after about 2 hours and it was at about 20mm height - it popped up (I suspect I had the nozzle a tiny bit too high, or my bed has a valley in the middle of it). Again, how do you know how long the printing is gonna take? I suspect Cura would show details like that, but for files you already have on the sd card....
@@neobikes well shit... I just set it to go on that little bit that comes with the printer hahaha. Welp.. ... lesson learned
Faill at 85% can it be heat problem?becose my printing dog pops out of the board?
Thank you so much for this video! I don't know how this doesn't have more views! Got my printer up and running in no time. Thank you for all the help!
Here I am just trying to figure out how to remove it from the packaging without breaking anything...
Gonna be honest... Took me from 7pm - 2am, but by God, with your help I was able to complete this.... 5 years after you made this vid man. I appreciate this video as all get out
Just a tip, I wouldn't recommend using the preheat PLA function before doing bed leveling. If the nozzle is hot and you touch it to the bed, you risk creating small melted divots in the places the nozzle touches.
This^^ Ask me how I know Ive done it twice. Lol
OOF, I read this prior to leveling and preheated anyways (Man I'm dumb)
But, hey, good thing to learn 🤣
Excellent video tutorials. It’s easy to assemble my new 3D printer while watching your video. It’s fully informative. Thank you for sharing your video. Watching here with full support from a new subscribers from Canada 🇨🇦
Extremely helpful! If you use this guide as your MAIN instruction for assembling your printer, I found it helpful to occasionally cross-reference the Creality paper instructions as a back-up. That may be why I didn’t get stuck when the wrong bolt was mentioned at around the 7-minute mark.
It's been 8 months of pain, and attempting printing. And I finally found this video. Thank you so much! I can finally print!
Awesome tutorial. Creality should license this one from you guys. A very thorough and professional production.
They really should. The included instructions are horrible at best.
Thanks A LOT. I saw this video before and now i followed all the steps to get the job done. It was a decent amout of work, but all those simple explanations made it really easy. THANKS AGAIN
I can't imagine trying to put this thing together using the incomprehensible, Byzantine directions from the manufacturer. Thank you so much for taking the time.
This is my second time buying an ender 3. Had to send back the first one last year after being frustrated through the setup process without clear instructions especially on leveling the bed. After following your tutorial with the detailed steps, I'm now printing the test dog. Will take my real dog out for a walk and hopefully come back to the test dog fully printed properly :)
Thank you! Thank you! And Thank you!!!!
I have an Ender 3 I purchased a while ago, but I never had time to assemble, calibrate and print with the machine because of my job. I recently put it together and I was looking to do a quick set up and print to make sure it works since it's just been sitting there for weeks. As with all newbies that have a little technical know-how, you think things should be fairly easy and smooth. "Far from it" is being very generous in this instance.
I thought the bed was leveled and it wasn't, scratched it the first time I tried to print. I thought the profile was good ... Naw!!!! Not by a long shot. I looked at a few vids to try to get my bearings and I was thoroughly unimpressed with their directions and walkthrough. I was getting close to giving up and scrapping it for another day. Then I ran into this video and said this has to work on this will be on the shelf for a little longer. Instantly I saw the difference in instruction and directions. I was able to set up things properly in about 30 minutes and I do mean everything. Bed leveling, temp adjustments, other calibrations, it all went smoothly. In fact, the most time I spent in the process was with the bed leveling. (It took about 15 minutes to get it fully completed.) Even the walkthrough with Cura was on point to give a newbie like me a good understanding of the software and what I should be doing. I know I'll need to study more, but for a starting point, this is fantastic! If you are new to 3d printing like I am, this is your best starting point. I am not one to leave reviews but I had to do so cause this just saved my 3d printing life!
By far, the best instructional video I've seen for the Ender 3 Pro. Thanks for the guidance! Why have you not been declared the KING of the INTERNET yet? GREAT JOB!
This tutorial saved my life!!! Thank you so much! I still need to figure out a lot of things. I made cookie cutters tonight and they were perfect!!! The only issue is it won't let me print stl, I have to convert it to g something lol and the bed is usually so messy with PLA waste :( if anyone knows how to fix it, I'll be forever grateful! 💖
So, you need to gently scrape off the bed, like really good. Then you need to soak a cotton ball in rubbing alcohol and clean the bed gently. Then you might want to check if it is leveled!
Have a great day 😃😃😃
you need a slicer software like cura to convert a stl file to instructions for the printer.
Totally new to 3d printing, and yesterday I used this video to build and test my new Ender 3. Everything was perfect! I never even referred to the written instructions or manual. Thanks so much for this awesome resource.
great tutorial and awesome timing! i have an ender 3 arriving tommorow, ill be watching this again while assembling
I never comment on videos but I just have to say thank you I wouldn't have been able to get it running so well without you. First real tech thing I've ever done alone thank you so much.
Am just about to begin my ender journey and after watching a few guides this seems to be the most concise, thank you. It’s going to be a great help at the weekend!
I have a CR10 -S5 and I just purchased an Ender3 because of the headache that cost. Thank you so much for this and making it simple
The best video I've found on setting up the Ender 3. Thank you.
For the longest time I could not get my prints to work, I had recently upgraded to the CR Touch and the magnetic print bed and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. I've been printing for just under a year so I'm still pretty inexperienced. I tried so many forums, help articles and other videos. Thank God for your video, I had no idea that the bed and the X axis had adjuster screws! I knew something was wrong because the bed and print nozzle didn't seem as stable as when I had first bought the printer, but I couldn't see the adjustment.
Just wanted to say thank you for helping me get back to enjoying my hobby :)
This video was so useful! I watched it over and over and it made my installation of my first 3D printer ever a breeze. Subbed on the spot. Thank you sir!
Very helpful, think that there were some updates for software since this video has released but everything else was extremely helpful and I’m now printing my first 3D model! Thanks :)
I love you, you're like an audible, clear, concise instruction package with a visual representation of what you're doing, made my life so much easier. Thank you!
Man, you are a godsent. I dont think I could have done it without this guide. Thanks!
The instructions sucked. So thanks for this video! Really helped me out!
They REALLY sucked lol
They really did
Just ordered my Ender 3 will be here in a couple days. It’s actually my second printer, my first was an Anycubic mega S. Great printer, with no instructions. It worked fine but when we had to move I think something got loose and I’m not able to print really anymore. So I finally decided to just buy a new printer since there isn’t any 3D print repair shops. I’ll say that now that I understand how these machines work better than my first time, this is a wonderful instruction piece that I wish I had the first time. From explaining the parts, how to properly install them, all the way to doing a basic Cura explanation. I can’t wait to start printing again. To anyone new to this hobby, welcome and for your information if you haven’t heard, printing is slow, it’s like watching paint dry except that’s actually faster. Good luck!
Thanks for the detail on this. After seeing that I wasn’t missing any steps, I checked again and again in this video and Reddit and found that my Z - Axis bump switch was pressed all the way flat.
Popped it up to where it is supposed to be and I’ve saved Christmas 2023!!!
Thanks for the assist btw! 🤘🏼
Thanks for pointing out all the things that can go wrong
I’ve been watching different videos and this is by far that best.
I wonder how big the surge of views is around the holidays. I know I'm one of them haha
Same 😂
My god YOU LIFE SAVER YOUR THE GOD OF THE 3D PRINTING WORLD. I WAS STRUGGLING WITH THE PAPER INSTRUCTIONS .SEEING YOUR VIDEO HAS GIVEN ME MORE KNOWLEDGE THAN THE INSTRUCTIONS COULD EVER DO AND TOP RATE TIPS THESE HAVE REALLY HELPED ME SO THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU GOD BLESS.
Love the video :) Thanks so much! @ 6:52 the speaker says to use two M4*16 screws but they're supposed to be M4*18 screws. The correct screws are pointed at in the video, I think the speaker just said the wrong size by accident :P (Instructions say M4*18 and if you zoom the video you can see by the packaging that they're M4*18 screws).
Truth!
When I was setting it up o thought it was m4 16 and I didn’t have enough and had to go to the store to buy some more but then I realized they were m4 18😞😞😞

Finally a guide, where the camera depicts one actually shows what is done.
Wow! I have looked at quite a few build videos for this printer, but this one is by FAR THE BEST! Every step explained and shown so it is really easy to follow. Nothing left to chance.
Every question I had in my mind as I was watching was eventually answered. I actually had the sensation I was building the printer as I was watching! Thank you so much for taking the time to put this together - It is far more than a quick start guide! I feel very confident I will be able to put my Ender 3 Pro together and start printing without hassle because of this video. A nice touch showing the Cura software setup as well. The prints you showed at the end were amazing - if mine prints as good as that I'll be very happy. I can't wait for my printer to arrive on Tuesday :)
Actually the only good instructions on youtube, thank you very much, i was stuck on this for two days because i didnt know that you could twist those spinning thingys to lift up the bed, and before that, the bed was not lining up with the nozzle so thank you so much.
It is good practice to unclip the electrical connections to motors before moving them along the extrusions as they will act as generators and could destroy your board.
Andrew Hayes or just move them slowly
That shouldn't be a problem. There is a flyback diode inside the MOSFETs that drive the stepper motors. No voltage can get through them and back into the printer. When the MOSFETs are turning on, there is a small voltage drop. When they're fully on, the diode is basically shorted and doesn't affect the circuit.
@@PunakiviAddikti I don't believe that is entirely true - When moving the z axis on my 3 pro by hand at anything other than a snail's pace the display on the printer will briefly light up. This is with the printer unplugged, mind you.
It's late 2022 and this video is the best one I've found to get an Ender 3 set up. I've already had my first prints but this video is great for troubleshooting too.
Thank you so much! I didn't know how to use it and I finally found out how, thanks to you!
The best ender 3 tutorial to date
Wow amazing video really high quality and very detailed best video ever
Your guide was super helpful, and truly follows the ethos of Canada by being friendly, helpful and pleasant all the way through! Thank you!
Great video tutorial. One of the best ones that I have seen. Very thorough and professionally done. Would like to see a video on mods & upgrades that you would recommend, in order to make the Creality Ender 3 an even more awesome printer than it already is.
Excellent! Just built my ender-3 using this guide and the instructions. Very well made, excellent pace, and visuals.
This was a truly fantastic tutorial! Thank you SO much for sharing your 3-D printing knowledge!
Thank you so much for making such a high quality video that simplifies the whole process to this degree. It couldnt have been better.
Thank you so much, just got my Ender 3 up and running thanks to you!! You did confuse me with the M4x16 at 6:50 ;) (you need M4x18 for the people who don't know)
SiboVG that’s why I spent so long pushing the screw! It’s not long enough, I was using the wrong screw!
Overall a great instructional video. At 6 min and 50 sec it is telling how to install the Z axis motor, and says to use a 4 x 16 screw, those don't fit. The correct screw is the 4 x 18, it would be helpful to mention that these screws have countersunk heads. I was wondering why Creality didn't include countersunk 4 x 16 screws, then it became obvious when I looked at the pictorial assembly instructions that a 4 x 18 with a countersunk head was called for and required. Other than that issue the video is stellar!!.
Excellent video!
Also, you forgot to show the step to wire the Z-axis motor.
This was an absolutely perfect video for any beginner such as myself.
I cannot thank you enough.
Absolutely fantastic work!
Really helped me through the iffy Ikea instructions of this thing!
After a few tries of watching other youtube videos to get mine start to print, I finally got it right. Thank you so much
Thanks for the video! I had a good time shopping at your store today
Used your video to set my 40th bday present up, yesterday. I didn't have the dog, but lucky cat in the test print. Turned out great. Thanks heaps, so easy to follow.
This was super helpful thank you. It's my first 3d printer and i currently have a dog coming out! Soon to move on to visors for health workers. I had a few issues with the X-axis gantry step - it didnt seem to align properly and i had to force it a little - on the video you didnt mention it. Also at the end i was a bit unclear why we were heating things up before alignment. And finally the 'Home' button leaves the nozzle off the edge of the plate, which i was (am) confused about. Oh and I bought a glass plate to go on, so had to adjust the z-stop. Overall though your explanation was superb.
Same alignment issue with initial print. Did you happen to figure out the issue? Thanks in advance!
What is the z stop? I just put the plate on and started following this 😅
Thank you. Tomorrow I am going to set up my Ender 3. I should be able to do it easily with your instructions.
Update:: I followed your instructions. Did. Not. Work. 😭😱yes, that was me. I watched the video again. Almost (but not quite) cried myself to sleep. Got up this morning. Watched it again. Emailed Creality. Watched it again. Called a friend who talked me into getting a printer. She suggested bunch of stuff including unplugging and replugging all the connectors. I had a few plugged in the wrong spot. Took me about an hour ro get the bed leveled. Now I am happily printing the thing on the SD card provided. Cat,5H.gcode. Maybe there was a few other things different from your video -- the display panel is totally different but the basic commands are in there if you hop around enough. But yay,,, I am orinting!!
The m4x16 doesn’t work
Should I do m4x18?
Awesome, started printing with my new Ender 3 without any glitches. Awesome Tutorial. Thank you again 3D Printing Canada.
So Z axis is up.... this goes against all my 3D knowledge!
I suppose I'll be looking from the top down when imagining how I'm placing the model onto the plate
I was taught the z is the up n down in metal machining..I've seen software that u can change it so It'll b the way u want
IMPORTANT NOTE: At the point in the video, about attaching the Z-Stepper motor (about the 7 minute mark), the narrator makes an error and says to use M16 bolts to attach the steppers to the vertical extrusion. The actual bolt needed is M18. Other than that, great video.
This helped me to put my ender 3 together perfectly- thank You for making video. Warm greetings from Latvia!
Thanks for this! Even with the error, you made I would've never been able to assemble this with the included instructions. Nothing but a bunch of arrows pointing to scribble. It still basically took me all day to assemble. I'm on my first test print of a pig which will never finish because I only have the included filament which is probably not enough but it's working!
Excellent video, thank you sir. Wish I had seen this before I assembled my Ender 3, took me almost 2 hours. LOL
this is the first video that actually tells me everything I need to know including the printing software and how to use it I've been looking for a video like this for almost 2 and a half hours now so really what I'm trying to say is thankyou
This was AMAZING! Thank you so much. As a complete novice, this was incredibly helpful.
this is best tutorial, i followed another guy's tutorial and he didn't give me any hints or how and why do this and that, but this video explains everything
This is a great video, I just wished there was a QR code ship with the printer for this tutorial. You guys should write the manufacturing manual too. Outstanding!!!. I wasted 2 hours doing this on my own and after watching this video, I got it work. THANK YOU. my next purchase will be through you guys.
You were the one who best taught me how to assemble an Ender 3. But when I turned on the printer it didn't go down Y axis. When I first saw a cable you forgot to connect. But I want to thank you very much for the lesson on how to help lay people. Note 9.9 because of Y axis Thank you very much.
You have no clue how helpful this was and how much time it saved me
Thanks friend, best video I found after getting frustrated with others.
Took two and a half hours in total

Thanks to your video I double checked all the actions made during assembly. And then even learned about cura software and now printing my first 3d printed cat model.
This is the best video especially for newbees, I just got a Ender 3 Neo and assembled it but I felt things weren't just right. But when I viewed your video and heard what to do to correct snags and hard to move gantry you guys saved me major frustration. Many thanks for your time and informative video.
Really complete guide, I'm really grateful for your tutorial. The instructions were missed to explain a lot of parts and assembly process.Thank you 👍
It was so satisfying to finally hear an end to the 30 minutes of constant background music looping
Super simple and I've never printed anything so I'm excited to see how it comes out.
Greatest explanation of all time! Got mine up and running in an hour! Thank you
