I just got my Creality Ender 3 V3 SE today on March 28 , 2024 .. it was my birthday gift to myself.. after watching Barnacules 3d printing from back in the days , it was finally time to jump on board ... and this video was a great introduction in what to look for when starting out ... 🙏
@@eitanosss6 I’m ashamed to admit this .. but it’s still in the box 😭😭😭😭 but with that said, the only thing I was looking into doing is adding a filament runout censor and few others that come to mind when looking at several videos on this printer … but , I say it’s a safe bet getting this printer as your first 3d printer 🖨️ but what do I know , mine is still in the box 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️lol
My wife has bought me this model printer for my 75th birthday (on this coming Sunday), so I have been checking out instruction videos for new 3d modellers. This is the best one I have found, and it is easy to follow, even for a novice like me. A big thank you from me.
this model is my first printer that I will have ever even touched. this video helped me prepare for what to expect when my printer arrives tomorrow. I can't wait to get started in this hobby. thank you for this series.
I have had my Creatly Ender 3 V3 SE since December 2023 and have printed around 10 kg of filament so far. I previously had an Ender 3 V1 with a 4.2.2 mainboard for years, but it's a huge jump to the SE. I've now moved away from super-fast printing and now print rather slowly with the SE, even though much more would be possible. So far I haven't had any problems, the only thing that was a problem at the beginning is the fact that there were no suitable settings in Cura. But with the V2 settings it worked. I've only had one problem to date, I had small lumps and threads that I could never completely get rid of. Thanks to one of your videos, I changed the values in the firmware and was totally surprised by the result. Mechanically I have not yet been disappointed with Creatly. The double-sided F spindle on the Z axis is one of the best changes compared to my old V1. I almost forgot. I had to balance my print bed. The car level is really great, but with a difference of 0.9 mm between the back and the front I had to intervene. I placed 0.1 mm washers under the screws until it fit. Now I no longer have any deviation under the screws, only a slight curvature of 0.03 mm in the middle of the print bed, but I can live with that 🙂
So glad someone mentioned the Voltage in the back. It's been awhile since I've set up a 3D Printer so when I got this it completely slipped my mind to change that and I was so confused for like 10min before realizing it lmao. I've had my V3 SE for about 2 weeks now but I've been watching videos on it and no one has ever mentioned that Voltage switch lmao. New 3D Printer owners see them and won't know.
Just picked up and SE as my first 3D printer. Very thorough walk through that helped me unravel some of the mystery and fear behind 3D printers. Thanks for the great video, subbed!
I'm really amazed that Creailty expected me to understand their 4 page instructions included with the printer. Thanks for the video my man. I wish Creailty would just make their own videos on how to assemble and set up their machines. Maybe one day!
I was hesitant to start the assembly of my new Ender V3 SE as the quick guide is okay as far as it goes, but this video was exactly the kind of help a plodder like me needed. Thank you so much for the effort to put produce and publish this, and I have subscribed and will take in more of your videos.
Awesome. We're not newbies, but we were Ender newbies in 2020, and used your equivalent setup video then to set up our current Ender 3 Pro, which has just been updated to a V3 SE today - watching carefully, and we'll open the box soon. I might add that I think it was the tips you gave us 4 years back that made our Ender 3 perform basically perfectly over the past 4 years. Damn Bowden tubes though! :)
This video made assembly of my first 3D printer, a gift for my 13yo done in secret squirrel mode, a breeeze. Fantastic content for newbies. Keep ‘em coming!
I just bought one of these printers (I'm a total Noob). It arrives tomorrow, so I'm glad I ran across your video that showed the detail I need to set it up properly. Thanks!
This printer was by far the easiest to assemble and get going, from unboxing to printing a test, after doing calibration and levelling. 10 min, all the shenanigans included. The only thing I couldn't do was to change the nozzle (I hate brass), because it hadn't arrived. Creality really did a fine job on this one.
Amazing explanation! You really alleviated the anxiety I’ve been having over unboxing the printer. Thank you for your generosity in sharing those extra tips, in addition to the detailed assembly instructions. Not to mention the extra explanation of the offset nuts.
I just got this printer and it worked well for about 4 prints. Started breaking prints from the plate about an hour to an hour and a half through. I had to touch every srew that I didn't touch during assembly as almost every one was lose. Just an FYI, it will shift on you if you don't make sure everything is tightened. I've also discovered that if you turn your print speed down to 80-85, it doesn't jerk at high speed so much.
This video convinced me to buy an Ender-3 V3 SE as my second printer (after two years of using a Monoprice MP Select Mini V2, which works great but has a relatively small print bed). I followed this video during the setup of the new printer, and all went well. Thanks.
the OG ender 3 video helped me and it is still running for 5 years, intermittently used it, probably dying extruder driver on the board but that's it. I felt old for missing out any new improvements money can buy the past 5 years, but they are only incremental to my uses so I didn't. everything is so automated and streamlined now too, except that eccentric nut that still staying the same. These machines might be digital and such, but in terms of common sense in the finer zone, they felt analog and hands-on , being in tropics the bed never warped too, so auto bed leveling is useless for users with finer senses, specially being helped with your video back then where the springs were almost fully compressed by modified default(lowering the Z endstop) :)
Your video saved my bacon today. I couldn't figure out why my extruder cable was so close to my spool feed. I rewatched again and realized I had looped the cable over top of the gantry. D'Oh. I'm pretty happy to have caught that before powering it up the first time. Thanks for posting such a detailed instructional clip!

I also just got mine and printed out of the box. Came out perfect! And the included filament was even more than enough - used it to print a few camera parts and still have some to spare, still no calibration.

Agreed. I'm glad I went through the pain of struggling with the E3V2 though. Taught me a lot about 3D printing, and machine calibration in general. But a 'do it for you' device is nice to reduce the headaches.
Yes it puts z offset little to cloase i rased it by 0.03 and that worked perfectly. And I recomend to rase it just a bit because petg will live marks in bead so just lift it a bit.

I received my Ender 3 V3 SE yesterday. Assembly was easy and fast. I turned it on and after selecting English as my preferred language, it automatically went into leveling without me having to select it. Leveling was long, but straight forward. I did my first print on the magnetic removable print bed. I don't like that base. I had great difficulty removing my print, and when it did come off, the underside of my print was very very rough, like 80 grit sandpaper. I have an Ender 3 V2 which came with a tempered glass bed and I love that thing so much. I decided to buy the glass bed for the new V3 SE, but had issues installing it. The clips I use on the V2 does not fit on the V3 SE. There is a additional black layer on top of the metal heating base and that makes it too thick for the clips to fit properly. I bought some binder clips at an office supply store to hold the glass bed on, but that makes the leveling procedure difficult, the binder clips interfere with the hot end as it moves across the bed. Bought some smaller 19mm binder clips, which I hope will work.
Wanted to drop by and give you a huge thanks! Concise, straight forward, extra information/tips, and great close-up shots when they're important. Very happy this was the first video I found once I got home with my printer. Thanks again! ✌
Thanks for the video. I just got my Ender 3 V3 SE (160 before tax thx to an ebay offer by Creality). I am surprised that their instructions don't talk about voltage switch except in a small box. I already had mine set up before this video turned up on my feed but I'll make a few adjustments based on what's in here. Your OG video for the V2 was an absolute godsend so when i saw this was here, it was essential viewing. One thing i did with mine was to keep the large top piece from the packing foam and cut a sheet of OSB to the same size (plywood would be better but this is what i had laying around) - I put the foam down first then the wood then sat the printer on top and it's reduced printer noise to a noticeable degree. Not that it was super loud to begin with! Absolutely brilliant printer so far, looking forward to Prusa Slicer having a profile added for it soon, not a fan of the creality software. Ill check out your Cura profile though!
Right? The creality slicer is painful after using PrusaSlicer for a year. I wonder if the E3V3 will work with V2 settings? I assume it's the same version of Marlin (legacy vs. V2)
@@JoeBleeps Yeah. Hope it's not too much longer. Given the popularity of this printer, I'm sure they'll release a profile for it soon (I'm surprised it took this long). Thanks for the video!

I just got mine today may 14, 2024 I e had the ender 3 pro for a year every upgrade known to man my original main board went after not even a year. Dual z axis with belt mod, dual gear extruder, glass bed, upgraded springs then silicone spacers, anti backlash nuts for the z axis rods. Both tensioners on x and y. Upgraded bed carriage stronger wheels new standard wheels. Rebuilt from top to bottom and very few good printd I have a full cardboard box of failed week prints. I've tried every slicer and settings nothing helped. I've leveled the bed every way possible new eccentric nuts spacers you make it. So I'm hopeful that my new printer will not be the same issue or my wife will go through the roof. I've spent probably enough on my ender 3 pro to buy a second ender 3 pro lol
Holy cats! That's amazing--it's almost a consumer product, like a toaster or a food processor! My E-3 Pro was more like a homebrew kit than a turnkey solution. 😅 Mind you, now mine's got linear rails, independent Z-axes, and all sorts of foolishness! Dunno how customizable these newer machines are--though it seems there's less to "fix!"
Great tips on adjusting the roller wheels! 4:50 I got told in another video, that roller wheels was to tight from the factory. (But no instruction how to calibrate them) I noticed after just 3 prints, that the wheels have just been chewing away leaving lots of platic dust behind Now it is running like a dream! :)
Just got one I paid paid 205. It's a big step up from my e3pros and easy to assemble. Very nice printer Very happy with it. Only thing I'm not a fan of is the x gantry wire clip.

Mind you, now mine's got linear rails, independent Z-axes, and all sorts of foolishness! Dunno how customizable these newer machines are--though it seems there's less to "fix!"
My first 3D printer. Very instructional and helpful well done video. Thank you!
Thank you for an awesome tutorial, I don't have my printer yet so I'm off to watch your next video, very informative.
Great tips on adjusting the roller wheels! 4:50
I got told in another video, that roller wheels was to tight from the factory. (But no instruction how to calibrate them)
I noticed after just 3 prints, that the wheels have just been chewing away leaving lots of platic dust behind
Now it is running like a dream! :)
Tysm this was way better then just reading a book
I just bought this for my son for Christmas. I’ll be back here on Dec 25th to figure out how to build it 😂
Just got one I paid paid 205. It's a big step up from my e3pros and easy to assemble. Very nice printer Very happy with it. Only thing I'm not a fan of is the x gantry wire clip.
Thanks so much for this tutorial. I used it to set my new unit up. Nicely done!!!
Woah, i didnt even know there was a V3!
I'd love to see a review/comparison with the V2 and V1 after youve tested it a while.
I'm planning on it :)
Hi! Just got my printer and will build it soon😃 When should you update the firmware of the printer?
Just bought one last night and I’ll be getting it Saturday
Very well done video, I have been watching your video's for years, you helped me set up my first ender years ago. Just got this new one and excited for what all it has. Thanks
Thank you very much for a noobie just about to start out in the 3D printing world and this channel was recommended by a friend
Can't wait to get mine and set it up!
Hey man, I just got my V3 SE in and you're doing me wonders with the setup
Thanks for your video, I didn’t know that C reality released v3 before. This is really a cost-effective entry-level 3D printer
Super informative I’m hoping to get mine tomorrow
Thanks for the video. I get mine delivered on Monday and this video is gonna help tremendously!
Thanks for the great video. Mine arrived today, looking forward to assembly!
Outstanding video. I have already setup my E3 V3 SE and made the same adjustments suggested in your video. Great info for newbies everywhere.
Huge respect for the job you are doing!
thank you i have been saving up for a while and am going to get this and want to make sure i use it to its full potential 🙏
You might want to look at a Bambu Lab A1 or A1 Mini instead, they are much better machines.
@@Tombof3DPrintedHorrors im trying to decide between ender 3 v3 ke or bambu lab a1 mini but im not sure
@@tomyeah the Bambu is the superior machine and produces the best prints I have ever gotten on any machine. I am currently switching my entire business over to A1/A1Minis from Enders.
@@Tombof3DPrintedHorrors thank you very much
I like this video. As a newbee, this is essential information. Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for this video, my E3 V3 SE is on it's way to me as my first 3D printer. This has been very helpful!
Hey Tom. I just bought this for my son! Hes so excited to print some fun stuff! Your video was very helpful! Def needed to switch the voltage haha. We've attempted to print several things but about halfway up it runs off n prints in mid air! Then back to where it was n out again like it thinks it needs to go somewhere else.
Thank you, just installed mine with your help. Keep up the great work
I just assembled it and it says nozzle temp too low
