@@bwest6275 It's been working out very well for me. Downloaded and printed a bunch of mods from thingiverse, and even designed a couple of my own with FreeCAD.

Anyway, great content! Thank you again!
I've had my Ender 3 for three years now. The first time i tried to get it set up, i had troubles leveling the bed. I tried several times, to no avail, which led me to not ever getting it set up. REALLY excellent video Mike. Totally agree that bed leveling is the NUMBER 1 issue that so many have, especially with the stock springs. I would mention that sometimes if not able to adjust enough in Z that the endstop might need to be moved down or up slightly to allow for more adjustment. This has been a big issue with the Ender and so many have fought their machines trying to level when they run out of adjustment on their beds.

If you're brand new and you print the X from this tutorial and are having a hard time scraping it off the bed, heat the bed to 80C and then it will make it super easy to scrape off. I was tearing my hair out and accidentally cut my thumb on the scraper before figuring this out. No one mentioned it anywhere.

@Xana Montana I've just bought an ender 3 and I'm going to assemble it this week, I was waiting for a roll of filament and I still need to clear some space. I think the instructions with the printer are pretty good and there are plenty of videos like this on RUclips that you can pause and re-watch to get a grip of whats required. One thing I picked up from this video was disabling the stepper motors when levelling to avoid power spikes, another tip from a different video by another 3d printer You Tuber was to have a square handy when assembling the gantry (y axis) so it's square to the base and in line with the bed. I think the biggest hurdle is going to be learning how to use the slicing software and the 3d modelling software to produce the models to print

I ordered my Ender 3 in December and am really happy that I have a video like this to help when I get it in a couple days (It is going to be the first printer I have owned)

Great work Michael! I remember learning all this the hard way, but I still enjoyed every minute of it. This will be a great help to newcomers going through the learning curve.
Just wana add my thanks for this video, I'm considering getting into 3d printing for ammunition reloading accessorys and was getting so confused with all the technical jargon and hardware etc. Great to see your Aussie as well 👍

Man! your video and explanations are amazing! Can't Thank you enough! Had success with my first time levelling following your steps and printer a perfect X. Not going to progress to the rest. Thank you!
@@Shaun-hp2yz First I had the magnetic build plate of the Ender 3 Pro, which was really easy to get prints of, but I switched over to a glass bed (for better flatness of the bed), so now I use a spatula. It's quite tough sometimes to get it of, but once you have a little corner slightly up, you can get the rest off easily. It's also good to wait for the bed to cool back down; makes it easier for the print to loosen from the bed.
In the Cura software I had to resize the "X" to 96% else it wouldnt fit (thats what Cura told me) and it wouldnt slice. I dont know why, I did everything correctly :)
You are very intelligent and thorough. This is my first time looking up 3D printers. I had no idea of how they work and you gave me interesting information.
I've watched several setup videos for the Ender 3 and I've noticed that there's not much of a discussion regarding the mechanical alignment of the components. I have an extensive background in CNC machining and I'm generally familiar with the processes involved in setting up machine tools. I've yet to see anyone talk about checking that the axis are physically straight and perpendicular to one another. It seems to me that these factors are relevant to any CNC machine whether it's a 3D printer or a milling machine. Is this that level of precision just never a factor with these? It would seem that one could misdiagnose a problem as being a warped bed when in fact you could have a bent/warped aluminum extrusion or other problem in the structure.
You're right! I had a warped extrusion (Y axis) on my previous ender 3 and it was difficult to find it. I also had to shim the framing on many place so it's perfectly square. I also had a warped bed. I put a lot of time and money trying fixing it and finally decided to sell it as is. I did not liked it how it's made from low quality component....
I'm at the 19min Plus excellent 3D Bed levelling Guide having used your video to assemble and setup my Ender 3 NEO I find X.stl in one diagonal direction prints fine, the other I'll use your guide for tuning and perfecting the levelling. Extremely helpful thanks for the great video.
A lot of friends asking for 3d printer recommendation. I always send them this video to help them understand if 3d printing is really the thing for them.
I've watched a few 'intro to 3D printing' vids, so far this is my favourite - clear, good pace, handy tips for common pitfalls. Really appreciate having the little relevant Australian tips too. Thanks :)

I haven't done the calibration process because I ran out of time, but the way you explained the ins and outs of the printer is greatly appreciated. Subscribed and made a fan of me. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos and learning from them.
Michael.it would really be boss to have a Playlist that is devoted completely to just your Ender/Ender 3 references videos. 3D printing is really taking off as a great hobby especially with the Ender 3 and you are one of the leaders in education us. Please consider.
Probably the best laid out, presented, informative and clearest video of any topic on youtube. 'If Carlsberg did videos'
Good to see I'm not the only 3d printing obsessed teacher who is an MCM fan.
This is the most clear and best explaination video for the ender 3 ive iver seen, you have saved my 3d printing journey and given me hope
I just wanted to scream my love for my ender3. I spent 3 months tweaking and customizing it with a lot of success and pleasure !
Yes I love my Ender 3 Pro too - Had it a little over a year, and it great out of the box and even better after a few upgrades I have done
just assembled the ender pro 3 this evening, about 75% through this x leveling print. looking beautiful so far. perfectly leveled. thanks sir.
You can bend your bed if will move only one corner at that hight. When i have such a big gap im moving up one side (2x knoobs ) until is close enought then other side and after that fine tuning with corner methods and paper.
If i start 3d printing ill keep that in mind very good to know thanks
Excellent and very informative video "Hands Down" The tips were a "Big Plus" I can't say enough. I applaud you.
I just got into the 3d printers and have been watching videos on how they work and the best ones to get for beginners for the past couple days. This is by far the best video I’ve come across and pretty well touched everything you need to know. Much appreciated.
Best "basic" tutorial out there. Spent hours trying to figure out slicing
Comes right in handy that guide, alot of things i learned already not most.. since im a beginner, and it takes ages to learn anything, thanks for the content
OMG what a super guide, thank you so much. I have been watching other ppl's tutorials and unboxing and you are #1 NO COMPETITION!
yes I am pretty tight on money and still bought one and here I am a year later reading your comment.
From one vlogger to another... this is simply a fantastic video and a fantastic channel. Today I have received my Ender 3 Pro, set it up with no issues and was able to print successfully right out the box - this would not have been achieved without your help, thank you. I'm already most of my way through your Onshape playlist and have already been able to create a part for my car. I try to do the same thing for my viewers, but to get them started in motorsport, I hope my videos are even half as useful as yours. Thank you, Rob.
I have been doing some research on the 3d printers but just have not got all my question answered. This tutorial help get some of those questions taken care of but just not all. This was the best video that I have seen so far, so thanks it really help me.
I just bought the upgraded version and downloaded stls I wanted but I literally have no clue what to do when It gets here. There's definitely a learning curve but this machine is underated and I'm here to learn. Patience isn't my strong suit so I'm here to study before it arrives!
I just got a 3d printer was struggling all weekend so now this guy on this page helped me to understand it so quickly thanks sir you are a inspiring ledgend keep up the good work
Mr.Michael Thanks a lot, I just got my 1st Ender 3 pro but was hesitant even to open the box and set it up. Your instructions were amazing and has given me confidence to go ahead and try it. You have a new subscriber planning to learn a lot from your videos. Thanks again mate.
I can't get enough of how well you explain it to my 5 year old brain.
Ordered an Ender 3 yesterday. As soon as it arrives I'm watching this video again and following assembly and the rest! Thanks!
Newbie here. Thinking about getting a 3D Printer. Your video was clear, and I could understand almost everything you explained. Hoping to be able to get many more ideas and learning experiences from you in the future. Thank you.
Finally a video I can recommend to people as a starter. Well done!! And props for the MCM shirt. :)
Hunting through videos to help me get the bed leveled on my new printer, being a nob it was quite overwhelming but following your video, it's helped me dramatically to get my printer setup much better. Was drawn in by the Chopped shirt, I stayed for the maad info, thanks for the video dude.. Will be watching more videos for sure! ✌️
This is great content.
Found exactly the info I was looking for to start printing and it even happened to be the printer I am getting for myself.
Thank you!
My son and I are just starting out 3D printing, this is SUPER helpful!
Great introduction Michael. Your teaching skills really came through.
fantastic, I am going to buy my first printer in a few days and had no clue what to even do to set it up or basically any knowledge at all. I can now refer to this video so easily
First tutorial just happened to be for the one I bought. Lucky.
One of the best if not the tutorial out there. Thank you! You’ve gained a new subscriber!
That was such a clear and simple instructional video, thanks! Just ordered one of these and that was exactly what I needed to have the confidence to jump in
I like your presentation style. Low key, chill, and trustworthy
Truly an outstanding video! Thank you for the time and effort creating such a well-designed tutorial. I'm thinking about this hobby and this was very helpful.
Hi Mike, today I have ordered my 1st 3D printer. Yes, it's the Ender -3. Your great instruction video will be a great help to get started!
you stil like it? even in 2023?
I ordered my Ender 3 in December and am really happy that I have a video like this to help when I get it in a couple days
(It is going to be the first printer I have owned)
Love the shirt. The reason why I am learning about 3d printing is to rapid prototype my ideas for car mods. Thanks for the video! Keep up the good work! CHEERS AND CHOPPED!!!
Great to see your Aussie as well 👍
I have an Ender 3 waiting for me at home. This is such perfect timing. Can't wait to get started in 3d printing
How is it going with the Ender 3
@@drakedimaria6301 love it. I recommend it for anyone wanting a 3d printer.
@@ChevTecGroup I have the ender 3 v2 coming in tomorrow. Can’t wait

I've been looking for 3d printer stuff for a while and honestly I couldn't have asked for a better review and also tutorial just wanted to say thank you!
my filament already arrived, now im waiting for the printer to arrive xD
Lol same
Same
Man! your video and explanations are amazing! Can't Thank you enough! Had success with my first time levelling following your steps and printer a perfect X. Not going to progress to the rest. Thank you!
m8, had my Ender installed a month ago, this would have been helpful :D nice video tho!
how do you get the prints off the bed
@@Shaun-hp2yz First I had the magnetic build plate of the Ender 3 Pro, which was really easy to get prints of, but I switched over to a glass bed (for better flatness of the bed), so now I use a spatula. It's quite tough sometimes to get it of, but once you have a little corner slightly up, you can get the rest off easily. It's also good to wait for the bed to cool back down; makes it easier for the print to loosen from the bed.
Stupendous! Clear, concise, calming, thorough, and enjoyable. Thanks from the USA
In the Cura software I had to resize the "X" to 96% else it wouldnt fit (thats what Cura told me) and it wouldnt slice. I dont know why, I did everything correctly :)
same problem , it won't slice for me either and resizing didn't work either it wont slice even at 10%
Watched out of curiosity - and very impressed. Not likely to buy one, but I now know what's involved. WELL DONE.
Is that a might car mod chopped t-shirt ???
It look like it
Indeed it is.
You are very intelligent and thorough. This is my first time looking up 3D printers. I had no idea of how they work and you gave me interesting information.
Just a quick question. How many Ender 3 printers went already through your desk? :D
This is the third.
An old video, but exactly what I was looking for...clear, concise and easy to get to grips with. Thanks for helping a noob.
hi vinanderson have you become a flat earther yet?
3:30 Volt cannot kill a person by itself, it is the current (Amperage) who does it. One needs the other tho.😊
Thanks my guy for helping me out with something up my 3D printer definitely helped with the giant hurdle of the overwhelmingness of 3D printing
A lot of friends asking for 3d printer recommendation. I always send them this video to help them understand if 3d printing is really the thing for them.
Thanks!
Legends are watching without printer
Getting one tommorow😝
Yeah alright 😅😅
I've watched a few 'intro to 3D printing' vids, so far this is my favourite - clear, good pace, handy tips for common pitfalls. Really appreciate having the little relevant Australian tips too. Thanks :)
Your nozzle was not even close to the paper when you said it was touching?
Excellent video tutorials on how to assemble 3D Ender Pro.
I like to think the name and logo are a reference to the Minecraft ender dragon
I've watched about a million of your videos. They have been a great resource to have as a newbie with my first 3d printer. I deliberately chose a printer that needed a bit of nursing and tuning to work adequately, and your videos really helped.

You sold me on this hobby. I will be retiring in the next 5-6 years and outside of gardening/landscaping, I was looking for something for the 8 months an winter here in the north. Great informational video. I've subscribed and look forward to more tutorial help. I have been looking at the printers now..Thanks! Erich WV USA

I just bought the same 3d printer and i m so glad that i have found this channel. your video is so so helpful for a newbie like me. thank you very much.
This looks more complicated than learning to fly a plane.
It’s honestly not, I have the same printer in this video and I’m 14 with adhd so I’m dumb as hell, I figured out how to use it within like 2 days

this is a hugely undervalued channel. thank you for the great content.
