The flip out screen on the Sony ZV1F always got in the way. I specifically bought the Olympus once i noticed that flip down screen. Like he said, makes a huge difference when shooting on the move.
For a clean HDMI output, with the E-M10 II, hold down the info button until the info disappears, that might be the same with the Mark IV. I know some capture cards will lock up when you do that but all you have to do is restart the capture card in the software and you will be good to go.
@@martysender5539 I'm not talking about the physical size of the the hdmi port. I'm referring to the camera information showing up on the external monitor and how to clear information off of the monitor. This is called "clean HDMI output."
IMPRESSED! OLYMPUS Has come a long way from my first OM-10 to an OM-1, which I loved back in '83 - 90+, (and still do), but it also has a step above many other DSLRs. The Zuiko lens to name one. All the features are awesome, for the little camera. Bravo!!! for Olympus!
I am using the E-M10 II with the 14-150 II lens. I would appreciate 20 MP, so cropping Gannets In Flight pictures for 33x23 inch prints becomes less critical. I do selfies as introductions in videos. With the 180 degree tilt screen I could do this without guessing the correct body tilt. With the 100-400 lens as well, my moon shots may also go on 33x23 inch prints. Currently I use the SH-1 pocket zoom for frame filling Moon shots. But relying on x4 Digital Zoom, these are limited to use as background screen on my laptops. On the MarIV, is video ISO AUTO only, as on my Mark II? On my Mark II night videos, ISO AUTO totally counteracts my EV adjustments. I go to EV +2, and the ISO is reduced to give me the same video brightness as EV 0 does.
What's remarkable to me is you don't talk about the Moon, what you see there. Just tech. It's just a machine to capture an image. What is significant is the Moon, not the zoom lens. Ya'll miss the point. think again.

How do you use the flip down selfie screen if the camera is on a tripod? You answered this a year ago with only, "No it does not interfere.", but it has to. The tripod mount is in front of the screen when the screen is in the down position. Therefore the screen should be behind the tripod.
Thank you for pointing this oversight out to us. Although the LCD screen can be flipped down while the camera is mounted to a tripod, the view would unfortunately be blocked.
The answer may depend on the specific tripod you own and its design (unfortunately, we cannot test cameras on all tripods we carry). That being said, the 1/4"-20 female tripod thread on the base of the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV Digital Camera is located near the front of the camera, and the LCD screen on the rear of the camera has a hinge that hinges out and away from the camera body. If you are referring to using the touchscreen feature or using the camera for selfies, then yes, depending on the tripod you own, the center column may be in front of the screen (the selfie mode is more for hand-held or selfie-stick usage), but you may still be able to see around the center column for basic framing purposes. It will depend on your tripod, so your mileage may vary.
@@BandH While it's true that the camera automatically goes into selfie mode when the screen is flipped down 180°, that can be over-ridden in the settings to use the camera in any video mode with the screen down. It does not appear that the cameras use similar in-body image stabilization. The Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III's in-body image stabilization is rated for up to 7 stops, while the in-body image stabilization for the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV is rated for 4.5 stops.
