I just wanted to let y’all know that I didn’t have to spend hundreds of 💰💰💰💰💰to get rid of our fleas I followed their instructions and they work!! I got my organic neem oil online mixed about 1 oz. With water in a spray bottle
I sprayed everything the floor and other things a couple times set up my soapy water traps and vacuumed
It was a pain but I didn’t have to call an exterminator!!
THANK YOU ALL FIR POSTING THIS!! 😂😂😂😂

You need to use food grade diatomaceous earth. Bath the pet with blue Dawn dishwashing soap, let sit for ten or fifteen minutes, rinse, then wash with baby shampoo to put oil back into skin.

Dawn detergent is good to put in bowl with little water n light over it n will attract fleas n kill them. It kills wasp also so I would not use on pets for washing.

Thank you so much for making this video! I discovered my kittens had fleas so I unfortunately panicked and clean my whole house! Wish I had seen this video beforehand. I love how you both gave such great tips and kept it pleasant. I felt that I would've been much calmer if I had seen this beforehand. All the other videos made it sound like if I don't handle it now, my kittens and I will die 😭

Two things to mention regarding hoovering and clothing. 1. If you're hoover is the bag-less drag along type where every attachment from the floor head, brush, pet brush and crevice tool attaches to the long flexible hose, then when you've finished vacuuming place some sellotape over the end of the hose (or attach the crevice tool and place some sellotape over that) so if some bugs have got caught in some hair ball inside the hose (it happens), then they can't escape when you put it away. If you have to put your hoover away with the hose detached, then sellotape up both ends of the hose and sellotape the opening where the hose goes into the hoover. And for those hoovers hoses that have the 'hole' you can slide open and closed to adjust the vacuum sucking pressure, remember to close that before you put it away. 2. The hot cycle of a tumble dryer will exceed the temperature that fleas or eggs or lave can tolerate, just be aware that some clothes can't handle such a hot tumble dry cycle. If you wash/dry your clothes and you can be sure they are flea/egg free, place as much as you can in vacuum seal bags and suck all the air out either with a hand pump or a vacuum cleaner with a hose. If you take your clothes to the laundrette, place them straight into the vacuum seal bags at the laundrette before you take them to your car. You will do best to limit the clothes you wear until the infestation is resolved as this will save you doing lots of laundry, but it is well worth it as the fleas cannot survive without air/oxygen, and if you wash/dry the clothes then there shouldn't be any eggs either.

I brought my 7 week oil kitten home 3 days ago and he had fleas. We bathed him in kitten shampoo but that didn't kill all of them so I had to pick off the rest by hand. Treated him with Broadline spot on for kittens, and noticed a dead flea on him the next day. Felt relieved but then found another live one on him the following day!! So put coconut oil on him yesterday and today found another dead one on him. I am hoping this can repel any lingerers. I am terrified of the eggs being all over the apartment though. Have been vaccuming and bleaching the floors, and now washing all the bedding, cushions and blankets as best as I can. I had a bad infestation in my mum's when I was a teenager and I'm scared of it getting that bad again. Thanks for the tips, I hope this will work, we only have one rug and not much furniture so I hope I have prevented an infestation before it happens.

I have been trying to get rid of fleas and ticks for 10 yrs and I didn't have a dog, but I lived in a high rise apartment. Now I find using 1 Cup of Water and 1 Cup of Apple Cider Vinegar and 1 or 2 drops of Lavender Essential Oil ( help the smell better) in spray bottle. Spray mattresses top and bottom, headboards front and back , spray cars and rugs let dry then vacuum. Inside home vacuum one or two times a day. Other things you can use on furniture is 1 cup of warm water and 2 or 3 drops of Cedarwood Essential Oil. This video is wonderful. Your presentation is something of a balm for me right now, soothing my compulsive worrying that I'll never survive this invasion. You're both beautiful and ever so charming and I'm relieved to know others have made it through a flea infestation with their sanity intact. The cleaning ahead will be a very steep uphill battle. I provide live-in care for my packrat elderly mother who insists laundry be limited to one small load a week, preferably less. We're on an extremely tight budget and it seems like every other thing has decided to stop working... most recently, the vacuum cleaner. Let's all wish me some magical luck, eh? Thank you, I'm going to subscribe and look for other videos you may have. P.S. Love the piano key moment... 100% appeals to my sense of humor.

Hi I know it's been a few years later but did you managed to get rid of the fleas?

    • @crowdedcrow3098
      @crowdedcrow3098 8 месяцев назад

@@pathways678 I don't always check notifications or see the responses to comments I've made, but I'm glad I caught yours... thanks for asking, you've taken me back to a time that was extraordinarily difficult but one I'd return to in a heartbeat. I'll explain why - this flea infestation (yes, btw, I did manage to triumph and we've been flea-free ever since) was the last memorable event to happen just before my cat of 14 years went missing. I'm not married and don't have children, so she was everything to me. She was overcome with fleas and just when things were improving and we were getting past the worst of it, she unexpectedly disappeared. I never saw her again, and to this day, my heart hurts when I think of how I was in too much of a hurry to open the door that last night she scratched at it. I had to take a plate of food to my mom and was going to return and let her in. By the time I got back, she was gone, never to return. I still don't know what happened to her, I try not to think about it. We live in a remote part of the countryside and there's a lot of wildlife. She spent 7 years roaming the area and never had an issue. There's no way I could've kept her from going outside, it brought her joy. I've been too afraid to adopt another kitty, I'd constantly worry something terrible would happen to her.
Anyway, that's the long answer to your question. We're mercifully free of fleas. And I'd like to thank you again for taking me back to a bittersweet time in my memory. Mostly sweet.☺🐈❤‍🩹

Nasty fleas bites from my feet to my knees, from working on old classic car. I treated our cats first and then self. I use essential oils; tea tree, lavender, lemon Balm (Melissa) also camomile. Make my own cream as well from Shea Butter and Aloe. Swedish Bitters cream will heal all the bite marks, but takes a while. Must wash everything in hot water because warm water will not kill the flea eggs. Can use olive oil, coconut oil or almond oil as carrier oil for essential oils. I love cold baths too. Thank you!

So I have been rubbing my pet's fur with coconut oil, oranges and lemons liquidised, also put some orange and lemon aromatherapy oils on him sparingly. They don't like Cedar oil or Thyme, so two great oils for the dog's neck with some neem oil and coconut oil. I tried the water in a container last night, it did catch some pests. Will try more and bigger water tonight. I'm just concerned my dog will tip it over, has he loves water.

I've lost 100's of hours of sleep! thousands in $, and a lot of time. Had to seek medical treatment for severe flea allergy dermatitis. Ive tried everything recommended in this vid cept flea bait but I havent started steam cleaning yet. I like neem oil and sprayed in house and the yard but my infestations are so severe its not strong enough. I had to get pest control to spray costly poison which makes me worry. I also spray my boots +shoes now. Fleas are still biting me ;( Ive lost too much weight working 9-12 hours a daynite! on de-fleaing. With the winter coming on now, I await the ultimate flea killer "bomb"
I've used often. As temperatures drop below freezing, I will open the
windows and use fans to move the cold air through my home. One or more
in the windows, pushing the air in and, at the other end of my
apartment, fans in windows sucking the air out. [No fans, just open all
the windows overnight.] I prefer temperatures around 20 degrees, but 30
doesn't hurt! With the former, though, you will need to trickle the
water in all your sinks and tub, because the pipes may freeze up
otherwise. The goal, of course, is to get the house down below freezing.
I'll sleep in a room that is warm, but will switch rooms and freeze
that room out later. This ALWAYS works, when virtually nothing else
does, -chemical spray cans and "bombs", constant vacuuming and mopping,
etc. And it really ain't that hard to do! As far as cost, well, -heating
up your home from freezing DOES cost money... Getting up in the morning
to a frozen house is a rude awakening, but i like the results! While 30
degrees [outside] may not finish them completely, it'll make quite a
dent... But a 20 degree outside temperature, that's nuclear!
Another slightly scary method i use is putting bleach on my calfs
[legs]. You could probably put it on full strength without harming
yourself, but i usually cut it 50/50 with water, or more. 10 to 1
probably won't cut it, as you have to have SOME strength. When house
cleaning, we often get bleach on our hands, and while it is not
something i think is good for me, this is WAR. Fleas burrow into your
flesh and lay their eggs there. If you don't kill the larvae in your own
skin, you are literally "shedding" little fleas as you walk around your
own home! I have heard it claimed that hydrogen peroxide can be used to
wash down your skin and "burn off" fleas. [Btw, peroxide in your ears
helps (some) people with "colds", -esp. upper respiratory viruses!]
Maybe peroxide is healthier, but I don't know that it really works.
Bleach WORKS. Try it two parts water, one part bleach, or 3 to 1 (1/4)
    may even do it.
We have a cat. The first line of flea defense is to take care of
her! [Temperature is still too warm outside now!] Kitty gets a good
combing every night! She's a flea MAGNET! I use a lice comb my daughter
needs once in a while. It's perfect. [A lady on you tube showed me this,
by the way, God bless her!] Take a pot of boiling water to the tub and
set it on a milk crate [etc.] in there. As you comb the cat, you'll get a
flea in the comb, and instantly you dip the comb [with flea on it] in
the hot water. Often you'll get two or three in a swipe. If you don't
move fast, they'll hop off the comb. But they usually seem "stunned" to
be pulled from their "fur world", so you'll have a (long) moment before
they can react... If they do jump, they may fall in the tub, where you
can have a few cups of warm water handy to dump into the tub to try to
wash them down the drain. A dozen fleas on kitty last night, only six
tonight... Gotta keep at it! Good luck to you in your struggle!
And for y'all down south, well, two outta three ain't bad...

I have a question. After the day of fumigation from pest control, apart from vacuuming, can I steam clean right after? Will that suck up the pesticide too rendering my effort useless because it is just water? How many days after can I steam clean? Thank you.

Ok with the coconut oil do you just rub it on your hands then wipe your hands all over the outer part of the cats fur or do you really have to get it all in everywhere? My cat has very thick fur that causes bad hairballs and he does not like bathing. I just got him a week ago but the old owner said she didn't know he had fleas that he must have got them just before she brought him to me.
Regardless he loves to sit with me mostly on my shoulder and tonight I got a bite, it swelled about 1/4 inch around about the size of the tip of my index finger I think it was from them ?? Then I felt something moving in my hair :/ So I freaked out and tossed my hair around with my fingers, I found the flea on my blanket and I put it in dawn water it died right away.. my cat has a flea collar on but it must not be working I still see him occasionally scratching at the area of the collar.

Its funny seeing you guys laughing when Im here going out of my mind. I do NOT have any pets yet my apartment has fleas. I do have neighbors with pets. My landlord has had an exterminator 3/4 and he has sprayed as well as I have used DE Powder and left it on the floors 17 days.. I also have bought flea bombs and fogged every room in my house every week for about a month and almost Poisoned myself with a coughing fit and the foggers made everything sticky (Raid foggers and Advantage foggers for fleas) Once none of that worked I bought RGR grow inhibitors spray ($25usd for a 16oz can) I bought 15 cans and spray everything including furniture walls and floors. I still see fleas jumping and biting me especially my ankles and hands nonstop. I have tried everything so I had my apartment painted and had all my Rugs torn out and I still have jumping fleas and I have and continue to wash floors with lemon and clothes especially bedding regularly. I have also bought a flea collar and placed it in my vacuum but NOTHING IS WORKING so Im sorry that seeing you laugh makes me very upset here because I have bite marks and I have thrown out hundreds in furniture and clothes and shoes and I don’t have any pets or a yard or grass outside I have concrete I live in Nyc. Exterminator confirmed they are fleas as others in the building have cats and dogs. At this point I don’t know what options are left for me I have cleaned everything and used peppermint and lemon which I was told fleas hate the situation has gotten a little better but not by much and I feel like I can’t invite friends over because they may be bit or worse carry one home and I don’t want anyone else suffering like I have.

Sprinkle borax on your floors everywhere you think there might be eggs or infestation. Put it over your rugs, hardwood floors even tile. Make sure you get it into the cracks and in corners and baseboards. You can also put some on your mattress and furniture like sofas and upholstered chairs. Sprinkle it and leave it on your floors for a day or two then vacuum everything up and vacuum everywhere. Repeat process a few times but continue to vacuum your house regularly for a few weeks even if you think it’s gotten better. Borax isn’t toxic per se but try not to breathe it in when putting it down. Also, make sure you wash everything you think fleas may have attached themselves too. To avoid getting bitten use virgin coconut oil on your legs and arms. Coconut oil kills and repels fleas. But main thing is to vacuum your house a lot and make sure you empty the contents outside and into a plastic bag, tie it up and throw it away. You can do this it just takes diligence and some work. Good luck.
