    Wished I would have seen this a few weeks ago. I subscribed to your channel so I can keep up. I used this 6 days ago. On my back porch and inside my house. I have hardwood floors. I used the spreader that came with the product, held the puffer about a foot above the floor, “ no pets inside, no kids just me, I live alone “ the sun came through the windows later in the evening and I could see the particles in the air. LOTS of particles. I got up the next morning and everything “ everything “ was covered. The table, microwave, the fireplace mantel “ EVERYTHING “ 4 days later I still have fleas. I’ve been shop vacuuming the last 3 days, morning then evening. I set the shop vac outside and open to dump it and the powder is everywhere and the fleas still jumping around in the bottom. I wouldn’t recommend this stuff. Thanks for letting people know.

      Also, I want to say it most definitely kills fleas and ticks. BUT it is a powder, so wear a mask and safety goggles. I would rather use something natural and protect my lungs ,eyes, and nose from the dust, then use some chemical. that a scientist somewhere created to put on my animal. When you need to spread on your property don't do it on a windy day. Still wear eye, nose and mouth protection and keep your animals of that part of the yard.

    The package says you can feed it to animals… if the label is the law, why is this allowed? Using the product WRONG is the problem. (Same with the very healing DMSO and borax) The people who have lost their pets due to ‘doctor approved’ flea treatments might like to take their chances with diatomaceous. If you had actual case studies, I might consider what you’re saying.…. you didn’t state any evidence. Maybe you could SHOW people how to use it safely?

    • @GreenAkersPC
      @GreenAkersPC  8 месяцев назад +5

      The issue is that Feeding isn't the same thing as breathing it into your lungs... a good example would be Water. You can drink it but you would die if you tried to breathe it. This video is going over the inhalation of DE and when you treat your pets with it, the dust will enter their lungs through normal grooming. I actually say this many many many times in several of my videos on the dangers of DE and I always get these remarks "if it can be eaten its so safe" which isn't true at all.

      Rule #1 You or your pets should never inhale DE dust.
      Rule #2 A small amount added to pet food is extremely healthy for dogs cats and live stock
      Also helps keep them free of internal parasites. Once in a while I mix a teaspoon of Food grade DE in a glass glass of water
      and take a dose myself. To each his own.

    We had half an acre backyard & nine dogs, many years ago in south Texas, where fleas thrive. On a whim, I ordered nematodes, & they worked like magic. After spraying, the following day there was a noticeable decrease, by the second day the flea population was cut in half, & by the fifth day, zero fleas. I got lucky, bc I found out later that if it’s too dry, they won’t survive, & if it’s too wet, they wash away. We just happened to get the right amount of rain that week.

Bravecto is the prescription which uses a different treatment and requires the flea to bite has also seen a reduction in effectiveness. I think DE applied by duster strictly outdoors, daily flea combing your pet, flea traps (mosalogic makes a great one that alternates warm and uva light), regular vacuuming, upholstery care, Will over time deal with fleas.

    I give them dry food around noon, and dry mixed with tuna, sardines or some fish, but they stay very fearful of humans. Mother was a very quiet feral we almost had tamed (gorgeous calico), and her kits don't make a sound for anything.
    I trapped them with a big live trap to get them out of our crawlspace and put them to our very crowded sunroom (storage) after treating the floors best we could get to.
    I'm sure they're trap shy now, and wife wants to put Benadryl in the food and try to catch and bathe them, and bomb the sunroom. I dunno. 😒

I have a question, 15 years ago, I had a sudden bed bug problem and immediately handled it when my daughter was 7yo and slept with me. We are in the same home and I noticed an issue about a month ago in my bedroom. Now how they are back could be any number of reasons, as I am still a nurse, or my daughter visiting friends, or just day to day life….MY question is, should I wrap my mattress and box spring in plastic as I put them in new encasements, used a steamer, baking soda, vinegar and my old reliable alcohol(I stopped due to fire hazard.) So in addition, since I slowed them down but are not gone like before, I just bought 4ml plastic, duct tape, and am waiting for crossfire to be delivered tomorrow…Thank you for any advice!! My first thought was the problems for my free roam indoor bunnies that have sensitive lungs to anything in a powder form. I may give a sort of bottle trap for flies with diatomaceous earth instead of the vinegar/cider type of bottle trap, though.

    Damn guys, yes, NEVER cover your animal in any kind of fine powder. Especially ones that dry things out or are abrasive but all should be avoided. If you think to yourself hey this powder kills bugs I think I will cover my pet, just don't. Please. Thank you.

    Kind of odd that you use diatomaceous earth to worm your animals by ingesting it yes you make it into a liquid for puppies and feed it as a powder to livestock using any product wrongfully is dangerous. I was a pest control at the largest university in Arkansas I'd like you to talk to Farmers before you say it don't work😂

    Because a doctor or scientist said it, then it must be true, remember when doctors recommended smoking 😂

      Remember when people believed the silicate asbestos was safe too 😂 DE is also a silicate 😂
