I’ve been a nanny for kids for 30 years (babysitting also) and never ever would I leave a baby in a car I now am 47 and have full time care of my goddaughters baby since 2 months i am so tired but never ever would I leave him it’s a constant on your mind she was negligent 100% no excuses don’t look after kids if you aren’t fit to do so.
She probably had a habit of leaving her in the car for a couple hours everytime she babysat her. I don't think this was the first time. This family and alot of the people commenting on here that are her friends are full of excuses! You have to beyond out of your mind to leave a baby in a car for 4 hours. She deserves more than 17 years. Poor parents!!
Well she is out of a job and paying a lawyer so it was probably impossible to think of another car. It’s sad. Now her husband will be a single income, single parent
Why does someone always have to pay? My dad was murdered and they never had to see a prison cell. I'm not saying that's why I support a non murder conviction. I'm showing how not everyone is convicted of murder and that guy that pulled the trigger is a murder.
Her community highly recommended her to this family she took care of many children from my understanding. I don’t understand how this happened but I don’t believe she was deliberately trying to hurt this poor baby. Everyone looses here. 😢
I got tired of trying to find one of these videos, showing the sentence, and looked it up on my own. 17 years seems fair. It was a horrific mistake. She deserves to get out to be her family again once she serves her time. Other channels might actually have the sentence, I guess, but why not just cut to the chase?
Sentences like this should be handed out more often, then maybe people would take seriously the notion of forgetting a baby/child in the backseat of a car, which I cannot understand for the life of me, how do you forget?????
@@GraceAn3there’s some things in life you can’t forget. Do you forget to drive with your eyes open? Do you forget to drink water to stay alive? Silly comment by you, you’re a fool
Yes! Folks are basically saying go easy on her hopefully they will be this forgiving when someone leaves their child for hours in 100 degree weather in a car with the windows rolled up...Make it Make Sense...She's an Adult what did she think would happen
None of this matters an iota! A precious baby is dead and it’s all her fault. She doesn’t deserve to sleep well. The fact that it affects the babysitter’s family is all her fault! 😡
We never want horrible awful things to happen because of our errors, but people do make errors without intending. It could happen to you even if you don’t believe it could.
Yes! Who are these folks feeling sorry for her it's because of her negligence that the baby died...We're not talking about a teenager this is a grown woman
How is her husband‘s statement a victims impact statement? That doesn’t even make sense. A victim impact statement would be becoming from the child’s parents or family.
the parents of the murdered baby cannot sleep. Your wife is a very careless babysitter, leaving the baby in the car, because she did not like the baby.

The judge is disrespectful by doing other things while this man is speaking. Unprofessional
I agree! Very rude and unprofessional
Such a sad situation all around. Heartbreaking for everyone.
Yes it is very sad.
Very sad
How could she keep the car that the precious baby died in???
Well she is out of a job and paying a lawyer so it was probably impossible to think of another car. It’s sad. Now her husband will be a single income, single parent
It's very sad for all involved, but I can't believe this is treated as murder.
I agree with you.
@@Ad-LoAnd I agree with both of you.
But can't u see a child is dead.
Who is responsible for the death of the child, if not the babysitter?

This LADY is not a bad human being. I feel there was no ill intent.
Well what was the intent if you leave a child over several hours in a car with the windows rolled up in over 100 degree weather...Make it Make Sense
Right
@@elainecongo3827 it was totally irresponsible and reckless of her to forget about the baby for so many hours!!
Still she needs to be punished for her negligence.
I wonder if you would say something like this if this happened to your baby!! Your probably her friend.
Her community highly recommended her to this family she took care of many children from my understanding. I don’t understand how this happened but I don’t believe she was deliberately trying to hurt this poor baby. Everyone looses here. 😢
She was drunk
Husband didn't even look at her!!
Perhaps they had already spoken or at least looked at each other beforehand.
He will probably divorce her. Most People don’t wanna sit around and wait for somebody to get out of prison
How is he supposed to look at her when she's sitting behind him and he's addressing the court and the judge? What a ridiculous remark!

i can't find the actual sentencing
I may be so wrong, but I believe she was on pain meds for her arm that was injured. She zoned out or even fell asleep, and left the baby in the car.
Sentences like this should be handed out more often, then maybe people would take seriously the notion of forgetting a baby/child in the backseat of a car, which I cannot understand for the life of me, how do you forget?????
The thing about forgetting is that you forget. There’s no accounting for it.
I'm with you 100%...Leaving a child in a hot car is pure irresponsibility....There is no excuse

I think it’s looked at as a ‘reference’ statement to help her sentencing
Who called it a victim impact statement? I missed that.
Some babysitter she is
CANT UNDERSTAND A THING
Nothing to understand... But Bullsh**...
Listen with the closed captions on it helps a lot.
Well, these court cases don't happen for your entertainment 🤡
OK LOL
No aggravating issues but mitigation is solid. Hopefully she is not incarcerated too long. She has more to give to her community.
Right
More deaths of children due to her negligence?
The innocent baby had her entire life stolen by this woman.

This is ridiculous! Not at any time did they prove she did not like the baby this was a horrible accident that you yourself could have committed!
The part about not liking the baby is your assumption.
