Actually that just happened to me. I picked up my dog from a kennel after a trip. Drove home, got out of the vehicle to get something out of my other vehicle parked in front of my house planning to get my dog after getting the item out. But then headed to my front door. I should note I could see the car at all times but my dog was laying down on the back seat. Fortunately as I was about to put the key in the door I remembered the dog amd ran back to get him. I think that is what happened here. She left the baby in the car to meet with 2nd mother and then got distracted and forgot. She should never habe left the child in the car unattended. Ultimately any way you look at it the death of the child is her fault.
This mother on the stand hurts so bad for the mom who lost her baby because as a mother herself she just absolutely knows how utterly devasted she must be. I cannot even imagine her pain, as a mom my brain cannot even comprehend losing my child over someone else's negligence, it is the most unfair thing ever! She had NO RIGHT! Poor woman. I had my great nephew once. He was so quiet in the backseat of the car. I forgot he was back there until I looked in the rear view mirror. Sometimes we get too much on our minds. Especially in my case when it's eas not normal for me to have a baby to care for. I am so glad I remembered him.

@@PneumaNoosebecause she left a baby in a hot car, intentionally or not she still left that defenseless baby in the car. Women who have abortions should never be considered as criminals.
So this woman was " watching " four children at the same time 🙄 Just because this woman never had an issue with this babysitter , does not change the fact that the baby sitter was the cause of that baby's death. Its still not clear " what " she was doing for those 5 hours! Didnt they other children ask " where is the baby"??
Don't know if it's true or not but read in another comment section that the babysitter had fallen asleep. Guess this lady's kids were watching themselves at the time then if that's the case, and it sounded like the TV had been on, too. Other children wouldn't have inquired about the baby because it was stated the baby would be there "on occasion".
@@loveforeignaccentsthat is unlikely. I've already listened to testimony regarding the babysitter making posts on Facebook, calling the aunt or texting the aunt, and texting with the mother of the child and such.
It’s not credible at all because she wasn’t dropping off a child and forgot, she was the friggin baby sitter. I will never understand how people are so self obsessed they forget about their own children. This is awful.
Never thought of this (I don't have kids) but you're right. Only allow someone to watch your child at your home. At least you and the child are aware of the surroundings. A babysitter already having your child is already outside their norm, no need to add more onto it. All the children (the witness three kids & Ariya) all could have been babysat at the babysitters home.

For those in the comments who didn’t listen properly she didn’t always bring the baby it was very random and sparse so this mother had no need to question where’s the baby. It’s wild that some of you really feel the need to bash innocent victims that did absolutely nothing wrong. Do better and be better!
You hear about it more than you'd think. There was a nurse in my state many years ago who normally had her Mother, the child's grandma, pick up her child and take her to daycare. One day the grandma was not able to take the child to daycare but was to pick her up that evening. The mother took the child and then forgot to take her to the daycare, went straight to work, like usual, and worked all day until her Mother called and said she was at the daycare and where was the child. Then the nurse remembered. I don't think they punished her. I think what you did to your child would be punishment enough. How could you ever get over doing that and forgetting about the child. How could your husband ever understand how you did that. I expect you would need therapy forever. So sad.
I got annoyed when my car said “ check the back seat for children” when I first got it and then you watch this you see some stuff like this! I thought to myself why would I ever forget a child in the back seat but apparently this crap happens all the time! SMH
This isn't the first case or the last. The year this happened there were six other kids' deaths in Florida alone, within those first seven months of the year, from kids being left in hot cars.
They fall asleep, you are distracted and especially if it’s not part of daily routine, easy. We had a devastating case of a dad who had to drop his baby off in the morning. Unusual as his wife usually does it. He drove to the office, as he does every morning, parked his car, got out and left the sleeping baby in the car. She died.
I’ve been a nanny for close to ten years, and I’ve been a preschool teacher for over ten years. My heart just breaks for this family. Lock her up, throw away the key.
This defense attorney is so unprepared. The flipping thru papers is so annoying and most of these questions are unrelated to the case. Why does it matter where the playroom in her house is at?
You don’t understand how trials work. Sorry, but you don’t. Having paperwork is the opposite of being unprepared, and demonstrating the layout of the home is extremely important to her defense. Again, another reason why I know you don’t understand how trials work.
@PneumaNoose Well, I'm a lawyer of 25 years so I definitely know how trials work. He's terrible. You don't have to flip through paperwork. It does actually make him seem unprepared. All of my evidence is on a computer and tablet and easily accessible. This attorney does not have a prepared presentation at all.
Naw.. no one who's sober or in their right mind would forget a child that long. Maybe 5 -10 mins max. Especially when that's her JOB she's on the clock. I bet she's popping pills , got busy and then fell asleep otherwise she intentionally did something to that poor child and was covering it up with letting the car thing be the outcome. I can't wrap my head around the HOW this happened with a loving , sober care taker
So this witness had me met the babysitter before arranging to look after her kids? Wow! That’s a big leap of faith. I don’t care who recommends someone, if I don’t know them personally, I’m not taking any chances. At least with child nurseries there are regulated staff and supervision. My unpopular opinion is that when you have kids you either stay home until they reach school or pre-school class, or ask a trusted relative to help out. A stranger will not be as vigilant with your child. A it’s very sad and tragic.

Good Lord I'm 82 years old and I can remember a baby
This is so sad
She didn't forget the baby at first. She was hiding the fact that she was keeping Baby Ariyah from the friend. As the morning went on, she forgot about the baby while babysitting 3 kids.
But Paschal said it was an accepted practice for the sitter to also watch Aryia. I don't think this was the reason.
I never left any of my 5 children sleeping in a car alone. At any circumstaces, for any reason, regardless for the weather. It would be convinient many many times but man! Just no no no never!
Right?! Just unbelievable
Exactly..even if your waking them up.
Leaving them to sleep in the car is not the same as this.

Horrific. Heartbreaking. 😢 Poor little child. Rest In Peace Angel. Praying for the family. Praying justice will be served for Ariya. ❤+❤
Again, HOW do you forget a child unless you are high as a kite?
Exactly! And why refuse a drug test unless you’re under the influence of something you aren’t prescribed??
💯 I read that she was struggling with back or hip pain on that day. Makes me wonder…
Well she did reportedly refuse a drug test.🤔
My first thought she was high or drunk
My guess is she was on opioids for the pain and still couldn't sleep the night before bc of the pain. She prob took another dose that morning so she could function but ended up falling asleep from the perfect storm of sleep deprivation and opioids. That's enough for a 5 hour nap
she was a great babysitter until she allowed a baby to die a horrible death in the back of her car because she forgot a BABY. the woman on the stand is lucky it wasn't one of her children.
"Baby-sitter" by definition needs a baby to look after. That is the only function of this job: looking after the baby.
I think it was because she also had the other three in her care. Just a thought. So sad.
She had 3 year old twin boys and a 9 year old girl in her care. All this shaming when the people in this situation are saying she was a phenomenal babysitter. Mistakes happen-but NEVER to you, right?
It's an accident, but her negligence led to a horrible death of a child.

Humans make mistakes, in this case, a devastating mistake! The defendant should have pleaded guilty 😔. Why she didn't, who knows. Just sad to have this over paid Lawyer trying to outsmart each other when the bottom line is: Defendant made a deadly mistake!
A mistake is a child their siblings name. Not leaving them in a car. Curious if this has ever happened to anyone because I have kids & just don’t understand how you could forget a kid in a car. Especially when kids take up so much of your time. You don’t realize how quiet it is or how much spare you now have? I’ll never understand how this happens let alone as many times as it has

HOW DO YOU FORGET A CHILD….no way
Obviously she didn't mean to kill the child but she had been told about leaving the baby sleep in her car by her husband, she was texting the mother of the child during the morning ... it don't add up.. I'm guessing she left that baby sleep in the car out of convenience, probably not wanting to keep telling the woman of the 3 kids that she was looking after the baby again while supposedly looking after her kids. Heartbreaking... r.i.p little one
I had dogs for 37 years and i never forgot that i left them in the car.
Dogs bark, and are excited to be home and get out of the car with you. I have never done this either, but I empathize with both mother and babysitter
@ baloney.
Think of it like a friends dog then. It wasnt her own kid which does not make it defendable but it's the truth
@@thathobbitlifeIt doesn't matter if she was her child or not she took responsibility of that baby and her welfare as soon as she agreed to babysit her
Actually that just happened to me.
I have seven children and never once have I left them in a vehicle😮😮😢😢
This mother on the stand hurts so bad for the mom who lost her baby because as a mother herself she just absolutely knows how utterly devasted she must be. I cannot even imagine her pain, as a mom my brain cannot even comprehend losing my child over someone else's negligence, it is the most unfair thing ever! She had NO RIGHT! She knows it could have easily been her 3 children lost that day. So many lives impacted! They'll never get over this. 😢
She had no right to do what?
Poor woman. I had my great nephew once. He was so quiet in the backseat of the car. I forgot he was back there until I looked in the rear view mirror. Sometimes we get too much on our minds. Especially in my case when it's eas not normal for me to have a baby to care for. I am so glad I remembered him.
But this witch literally has the baby dang near every day! It's her LITERAL JOB! SHE GETS PAID! this baby was her income. No excuse !

Exactly. I’m glad someone has a heart and some sense. People in these comments clearly aren’t listening to how loved and trusted she was. @smplfylife by accident so its manslaughter so she didnt mean it...does not deserve life for an accident
@@jeanataylor6864 right and she texted the baby’s mom more than once.
Wow! Was baby sitter on drugs?
@Katie-cs2hn Most likely. She refused to take a drug test, which was very suspicious. It should have been mandatory.

How sad for everyone involved.
I would never let a babysitter put my child in their car and go somewhere. ……ever.
I think we’re so distracted these days, especially with the phone
How do you forget a child that you are supposed to be caring for ALL DAY?

If the babysitter admitted to leaving the baby in the car, why is there a trial?
Because in the U.S. everyone is entitled to a trial.

How the heck she forgets A BABY in a car !!??? 😡💔😞
@@rachelphelps6347. Every summer the numbers of babies/toddlers being left in cars increases! It’s horrific for all concerned.
She died.

Agree - he’s frustrating
He's extremely annoying.

So she is running a daycare out of the nurse's house???
If the mobile phone was left in the car seat, maybe the poor children might stand a chance .
Naw.. no one who's sober or in their right mind would forget a child that long.
