this boat works in the ocean no problem (if i'm understanding the french comment here) and in fact we have a number of them running off the coast of oregon doing daily duty for guides and surfmen. GO COMMANDO!

I have to say they did a pretty good job for the first time, a few mistakes but assembling an inflatable, especially one rite out of the box brand new can be challenging. I have done this over 10 times in my life and each time I get better at it. Because this a pain in the you know what I have a trailer and now assemble once per year. Soapy water will help when applying the stringers especially a new boat it acts like a lubricant.

Geez.. You boys are making this look hard. I had a 13 foot Bombard Brisbane for years that I trailered behind a Toyota Celica. I trailered it because the less you took it apart and put it together the better it was for the boat. I bought the Brisbane at the time because I couldn't afford the Commando. The Brisbane had wooden floors I would clear-seal every season to a glossy shine. It had a 25 HP Yamaha on it with electric start. That boat could carry 3 divers gear and six tanks. And still get up on plane. the wooden keel was pure genius (mine was wood). It was a superior inflatable easy to get in and out of with two seconds of instruction. I used it mostly in Cape Ann, MA and down in Woods Hole.
I used to fish off it as well. I would be out on a calm day drifting and casting for Blue Fish sunning them selves on the surface. 3 or 4 miles off shore standing up casting. Boats would pass by me at a slow speed within about 40 or 50 feet people staring. I would get really annoyed I'm out in the middle of the Ocean for gosh sake, give me some room. Finally I gestured and said to a guy "really?" He said, "From a distance it looks like your standing on water. (paddle boards were not in fashion back then)" The Brisbane was light grey with a red blue rub rail around it.
Mystery solved. these are great boats.

the bisbane is nothing like the commando, and yeah these guys had to learn by fire and I got it on video.not bad for a first effort. ;) they are however designed to be taken apart and reassembled so it shouldn't do a thing to the life of the boat.
      thanks for the comment though!

What year did bombard use welded seams for these boats?

haha! versatec i think you may be fibbing just a little. i run most of these boats in this size, r.i.b.s and roll ups and others. new boat first assembly is always the hardest. my commando c4 is 7 minutes from start to finish, a classic or futura is much harder with the bow rise and hd floors making the boat extremely difficult for a newcomer or even a veteran(20 minutes on average).the commando keel stretches the boat into length and shape making the floors and most inportantly the stringers drop right in. performance wise the bombard (actually a division of zodiac boats) will bury anything else in it's class and horse power rating. don't take my word for it watch ron mausell OWN all other makes and models in one of his many races through out the 80s and 90s he won several world championships on his c3 with a 40hp.
you can find some of his videos on youtube
also to achive a "5 minute time you would need an auto inflation system and hp or air floor connected with i.c. valves and bango lines like the erb models or minute mans.none of the boats will do as you say in the recreational line with exception of the centenial model of the classic (5min) and that boat still gets OWNED by the equivilent commando model with the same outboard.
just saying because it's true and not a fib, no point on steering people off in the wrong direction who are looking for a little help in a first assembly of a new boat.

this is crazy ,,,, the man is standing and walking on the boat and trying to fix the parts ,,,,????? he thought he's on water ???
never do like him,,,, you may carkle the down of the boat ..

You're wrong that's how you do it. I had a 13 foot Bombard Brisbane with wooden decks. You have to get in and pull up so the floor and keel system snaps into place when the tubes inflate. These are tremendous boats that handle great and can carry a lot of gear.

Hi Inflatable Boat Center, Are you serious? Or did you do this clip to make people laugh? If you're serious? Then I wonder what are you doing? If it's a joke? Then there was nothing. Then I understand.
