My grandpa that lived thru the depression but still had quite a bit of money used to trace his shoe out on an old tire, cut it out and glue it on, said them tires have another 50k more miles left on them. He was the king of rigging stuff. Probably why they had money though.

good idea, excellent craftsmanship. I’ll bet the shoes weigh twice as much as they did if not more..Not good for tennis or basketball or running anymore, but for walking and general use, they will probably last as long as the tops of the shoes do

My grandfather was very poor. He lost both legs to surgical amputation just below the knees as a middle aged man, before I was born. He cut pieces of old tires and put straps on them. He put his knee nubs in them with his pants legs folded around the nubs. He strapped the tires to the nubs and walked everywhere anyone else could buy on his knees. The only way I ever knew him.

Это видео сделано для просмотров Ютуба и не более, в практике подошва скоро отпадёт, слишком толстая резина для подошвы. Во вторых, в этих кедах ткань начинает отрываться от резины на месте сгиба, раньше чем стирается подошва.

We must repair things and must be used upto it's limits and shouldn't throw things away for minor issues, so in that way we can reduce our waste and save a lot of money for better use. Craftsmanship and repairing things must be taught in schools like any other subjects.

Trabajo altamente profesional.

I met a Maasai tribesman in Tanzania many years ago wearing sandals made from old tyres...I commented on them and said I liked them...He asked me if I wanted to swap...I was wearing expensive hiking boots...I didn't swap...Many of the men were wearing them and the straps that tied the sandal to the foot were made from the tyres too...reminiscent of the roman caligae...

You can only make shoes with tires that are really cheap. Maybe these are more common in some countries, but in most first world countries tires have an embedded steel mesh that would cut the hell out of your feet.

The army dose this with their standard issue boot. Its not very comfortable last long but not best for day to day wear. The reason why things don’t last come down to convenience. People would rather buy a new thing than wait for it to be repaired as it faster and cheaper for them. Things dont last because we value comfort over durability and repair dose not have the financial benefit as it did

For tennis you can use special cement not rubber glue f you not want the rubber sole come out first you must use"rehagol"is a liquid that make the white cement that you can put after never come out but rehagol is only if the shoe bottom Is rubber and the new replacement is rubber too if the tennis is real leather not only in the bottom.

In my opinion: Barge contact cement. But you'll need to secure the heel. Tire rubber isn't the same material as used on soles so most contact cement should work. Also if you put a heel on, you'd need to stitch around the premier otherwise when you roll the edge it can peal off. The flat bond wouldn't hold up to torsional flexation as well with heels.
And the type of tread here doesn't appear to be a radial tire tread. You won't be able to use razor blade knives on steal belted radial tread, obviously.
