Making shoe soles from old tires.

- This video is about how to make shoe soles from used tires.
With the addition of this rubber shoes will be more durable.
So that the tire rubber can stick firmly to the shoe sole, we give a layer of Eva sponge between the two.
Let's follow together the manufacturing process.
Hopefully useful and thank you for watching our video.

My grandpa that lived thru the depression but still had quite a bit of money used to trace his shoe out on an old tire, cut it out and glue it on, said them tires have another 50k more miles left on them. He was the king of rigging stuff. Probably why they had money though.
Ur gramps sounds like a rly cool guy
Umm...Penny saved is penny earned that's all i can say
"Mend and make do! "
also its fun to repair your own stuff
My grandfather was very poor. He lost both legs to surgical amputation just below the knees as a middle aged man, before I was born. He cut pieces of old tires and put straps on them. He put his knee nubs in them with his pants legs folded around the nubs. He strapped the tires to the nubs and walked everywhere anyone else could buy on his knees. The only way I ever knew him.
Damn, what a legend.
good idea, excellent craftsmanship. I’ll bet the shoes weigh twice as much as they did if not more..Not good for tennis or basketball or running anymore, but for walking and general use, they will probably last as long as the tops of the shoes do
Weight lifting, better foot gripping.
We must repair things and must be used upto it's limits and shouldn't throw things away for minor issues, so in that way we can reduce our waste and save a lot of money for better use. Craftsmanship and repairing things must be taught in schools like any other subjects.
Yes we all love some rubber in our air and all around us. Mmmmmmm microplastic
Every shoe company can build long lasting soles with tyre quality rubber, but their factories will shut down.
you said it right..in the 80's, 90's things are made to last but now they intentionally make things to fail periodically to buy parts for repair or buy a new unit again..business strategy
q ora rabi koe wes ora popo ojo sampek q ketemu raimu......q tk usaha dewe gae hasil kringetku dewe
They already do......used rubber is used in TPR sole
The army dose this with their standard issue boot. Its not very comfortable last long but not best for day to day wear. The reason why things don’t last come down to convenience. People would rather buy a new thing than wait for it to be repaired as it faster and cheaper for them. Things dont last because we value comfort over durability and repair dose not have the financial benefit as it did

I tried this with some old worn shoes, the problem was lack of groundwork. Thanks, this shows how it can be done!
He got them Goodyear All Stars
great video 😃. I do it but with bicycle wheels. I first started to fix my shoes and over time I did it for those who needed it and it is a great way to recycle and on the other hand to reuse objects.
Awesome
Same like me..i use bicycle wheels too👍

Recycling is reusing objects.
Do you also use some white sheet between the old shoe and the tire? If yes, what is it and where to find some? Thanks a lot
I felt the same. It looked like you could get 4 shoe soles out of the material.
this man means business no time wasting
I met a Maasai tribesman in Tanzania many years ago wearing sandals made from old tyres...I commented on them and said I liked them...He asked me if I wanted to swap...I was wearing expensive hiking boots...I didn't swap...Many of the men were wearing them and the straps that tied the sandal to the foot were made from the tyres too...reminiscent of the roman caligae...
You can only make shoes with tires that are really cheap. Maybe these are more common in some countries, but in most first world countries tires have an embedded steel mesh that would cut the hell out of your feet.
What's the white material?
Skeet
Interesting to see NEW TYRE treads. Not knocking the in ovation.
Had that done to my Clark's in the 60's
Absolutely love the idea

Beginners level but practice makes the person a expert, keep going have a long road ahead but you have made the most important fact: beggin.
Shoemakers in the Philippines has been using old tires as shoe soles and sandals for more than 40 years.
Same in Thailand.
In México sierra natives make sandals out of tires aswell since a long time ago
It would be a good use for those mountains of old used tyres around the world that catch fire, but apparently the tyre rubber has chemical compounds that are bad for your health and the environment as the material breaks down and releases gases.
I own 2 pairs of shoes were the tire threads. I love them!
Where did you get them I can't find a cobbler to do it in the US?
@@michaelw1669 I got mines at Ross in Las Vegas, about a decade ago. I can't even tell you what the name of the company is. The fabric feels like hemp or something similar. I got a plaid and medium blue pair. People always ask me about them, when I wear them. They are still in excellent shape.
MY BROTHER THAT IS GENIUS WOOOOWWW!!!! I REALLY LIKE HOW U DUD THAT..... VERY VERY GOOD...VERY CREATIVE N TALENTED....BYE!!
It's cool to be a platform shoe with old tires ♪ I want it
Sir YOURE THE MAN ..👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 shoe makers don't do it here in the USA it would cheaper than buying new converse ...good job
Wow !!! Nice restoration. Funny is the owner’s feet will soon retire and gone but the shoes will live on to the next in throne and so on and so forth outlasting other shoe brand. 😳😁😩👍🤣👍
Your shoe working over westage and solition heavy loss over tyre weight. FROM TAMIL NADU,INDIA👍

That's cool
Lovely! I had a pair of shoes fixed like this and I scoffed--but they were wonderful. ❤
What was the whit white material you used to stick the tyre sole too?
Thank you, brother!
Where do you find a large bottle of the glue?
This is a clever design, except for when original plastic finally unglues from the original fabric after more use
Bomb job and video. Thanks.
Same for our roads
Very nice. I’d love you to do that to my old shoes
We had cobblers repairing soles with tyre rubber .. but now most prefer buying a new pair . We had even Aeroplane tyre soles that will not wear off at all ..
Nice movie! Good job!
LOL
One has the tire chevrons pointing forward and the other has them pointing backwards.

Makasih mba.... ♥️♥️♥️♥️🙏🙏🙏
they look good
♥️♥️👍👍👍
Puros yordan felicidades pocos como usted 👏👏😇😇😇
Looks much stronger than the original. The owner might die before the sole wears down.
My sister complain cause nowadays shoe's sole wear to fast so I suggest her to take her shoes to a shoemaker and get work boot's soles on it.
@@EliosMoonElios -There must be some old tires laying around. Maybe she can do it herself or get someone to do it. You seldom see shoemakers today. (depending on where you live ) Who knows, maybe she can start at business. Don't forget the glue. 👌
That is a one thing and also it might die wearing uncomfortable as fuck shoe made out of reinforced rubber that doesn’t bend.
But we all know that money over there matters more than life so to buy a shoe cost a fortune.
Mexican style he he, in Mexico we make sandals out 9f tires as well...They last forever, some have been known to outlast the owners.
"What boots you got on?"
"Firestone"
Lmao, I did this with a pair of old rain boots in the winter one time when my special $400 snow boots were skating all over the driveway.
You could put the shoes, side by side and save more rubber.
He is using that method to get best paired texture of the rubber, and thats only on the center.

If u order shoes off WISH they already have these type sole's on them
What kind of glue is that ????
I'm an auto technician, I would love some shoe bottom like these for my work shoes.
Nice Products!!
What material did you use between the tire and the sole? This is an awesome idea! Thx for demonstrating!
Necessity is the mother of invention, when we're kids we find things and make stuff, we make do, this is bred out of us, or kicked, by the wasteful, ungrateful consumerist economy, so great to see you doing this, I have a good pair of sketchers from 2004, never wore them until now, the soul is wearing and a lot of today's shoes are just sh*te, this is an amazing video, I can make any pair of shoes I like, LAST NEAR FOREVER! Goodbye corporate greed...I'll just keep the shoes I like thank you very much.....have a fun day buddy!
Omg...Good idea 😅
Nicely done 👍👍👍
Me: Dad, my shoes are worn out. i already worn the soles off I need brand new pair of shoes.
Dad: I got you new soles thicker than the original.😜
Great video. i like these shoes
GENIAL!!!
These are the Converse Rugged edition off-road capable 😂
Thank very much
I have a pair of steal toe sneakers with the sole made from tire rubber, they're pretty awesome.
Did you steal them?
Such shoes mostly break on the edges where the gum connects with fabric. I see no point in reinforcing the sole.
Excellent point. Why do this to a shoe made of fabric?
I would attach it to leather and wear it for much longer

As someone who has a hole in every fucking right sole from braking on a skateboard, I'm gonna agree to disagree.
No GD brakes on fckng bike, this sht will be awesome dudes!!HS and HF even.....
Qe super. Saludos desde Bolivia broo
