Hey bro I got a question I just bought a 18 Saturn boat. My issue is I got 4 small rail and 2 big rail . I see your rails is all the same size floor rail. . I was wondering where do my big rails goes ?
Just to clarify, the SD518 is actually 17 feet long. I know they market it as an 18, but its not. Mine are all the same length, but I dont think it would matter as long as 1. You're getting full length coverage of the floorboards, and 2. You are able to ensure that the inter floor board joints are all in or close to the center of the support beams. Meaning the strut has equal mounts of length on each side of every floor joint up to the wood panels which should be free to flex a bit.
Trailers are tricky because they come in so many variations. A 13 footer is going to be way easier to find one for than mine. I would say that a Jet Ski trailer with the right bunk setup and a long tongue would work well for you. They seem to be pretty easy to come by on Marketplace. The bunks are just pressure treated 2x4s or 2x6s. The carpeting and brackets can be found on Amazon.
Well I have the 16 ft inflatable boat with aluminum floor I have my trans one wheels that fold up after I get it in the ocean amd I perfer that because some spots you can’t launch woth a trailer tho amd I don’t mind g blowing it up amd putting in the aluminum floor either tho need that exercise in life don’t really need a trailer but some do I break it down fold it up put it away but someone needs to do a up close video of how to put those bracket around the floor they say the big end goes on the bottom and locks in for me when I put it on the floor it still slide until I fil my tibes all the way up haven’t seen a video yet on here we’re they show up close how to put those bracket I know it’s 3 on each side tho but cool video I might get a trailer later tho wil see tho host got my Saturn last week stil working on it I think they should rap o seal the boxes they come in way better tho all bang up tho it thanks for the video
Thanks for watching! If I end up breaking the boat down for any reason, I'll see about doing a seperate video on the Support Rails. Although I think I can just show a close up picture with them in and it would give you a really good idea. Mine are also loose until I build up air pressure, I believe thats normal.
@@SoFloBuilds cooo how do you like the Saturn I got the 16 heavy duty SD 488 I bleave came with the box beat up look pretty good had scuff marks wjat looks like a little scrap not sore blew it up looks great and heavy to heat welded it says when I feel it doesn’t feel that thick I could be wrong tho transom has little scuff on it not sure if they send news one or one people sent back never delt woth thos company first time I mean I do not know to much about the company hopefully they sent me a new one do you know about there builds are they good strong I can’t find any videos on mine but 2 on here amd they don’t talk about them much you seem like you know about Saturn more then me tho
@@donaldmartin4620 Boats To Go is local to me here in S FL, and I’ve owned there SD488 as well a few years ago. As a company, they are a value brand. Value doesn’t mean bad, just means giving you a fair product at a fair price. Other brands that I won’t list by name are basically the exact same product with better marketing and 4-5 times the price. I am not sponsored by Saturn in any way, and speak only from the position of what I consider “Fair”. To me it’s unfair to sell an equivalent product for 4 times the price. It’s the way of the world these days. Go to your main Brand grocery store and pay $7 for a jar of Mayo, or go to Walmart and pay $5. It’s the same product, why pay more? These Companies are banking on you won’t take the time to do the research and assume that because it costs so much more, it must be better. PVC boats are cheap and effective, they’re in no way luxury items and should cost as much as a fiberglass boat. At the same time, you have to accept some compromises. Shipping Companies do the best they can to get a very heavy item delivered in one piece. Minor scuffs and such are annoying, but par for the course these days. As long as there’s no significant damage, I’d consider it good to go. Otherwise it should filed as shipping damage and the shipper is responsible for a replacement. I think anyone who has opened a new Saturn can attest to how well they a packaged, and I think that’s why they are able to ship as many boats as they do all over the country without catastrophic damage. Otherwise, all these companies would be out of business.
