  • Exercises to make your joints (ligaments) and the muscles of your arms, involved in the striking motion of punching, strong. Do them slow in all directions to obtain maximum benefit from each repetition. For the stick work, you can progress from the centre of it towards the end as you gain wrist strength (do not move your arm); go up and down then, circular clockwise and counter-clockwise. For the push-ups, engage your shoulders at the beginning and end of the motion to encourage core strength and flexibility behind every strike (punch) you deliver; beginners without weighted vest or rolling the fists, then start rolling your fists as you gain wrist strength, later add the weighted vest increasing the load gradually. In this demonstration a 10 Kilos (22 Pounds) weighted vest is used. As for the breathing, inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth, letting the air out naturally (do not blow it forcefully out); also, alternate your push-ups on inhale and exhale (different parts of the breathing cycle), so do when punching. Your breathing leads your movement, not the other way around.
Note: I was 48 years old at the time of recording and publishing this video; exercise regularly, enjoy a healthy diet and you'll age gracefully !.

    It is amazing.
Breaking down the movements in such a way and training them separately,
We can increase the flexible mobility of push-ups.
    It is very helpful.
    Thank you from Japan.

These are great exercises for striking strength - another good exercise for striking strength is straight up fingertip pushups - do 50 finger tip pushups a say in sets of 10 and in 2 - 3 months see how the strength in your wrists becomes super strong and your striking strength increases dramatically.

Many folks neglect wrist and fist conditioning, unfortunately and yhe minute they hit something with thier hands they hurt their fist or sprain the wrist. 🤔
Those hand & wrist must be conditioned, and the tendon and joints of the arm and shoulders also for maximum power 💪

Bruce Lee used similar exercises for sun fist/one inch punch. I did them for years and they worked. My straight punch became ridiculously fast and strong. My hooks were slower than ships turning, though lol. Particularly important to condition the fists on hard ground (you can start with however many layers of a towel you need and reduce them until you are on a wooden/concrete floor).

The exercises shown on this video are for "strength" only, as the title of the video suggest. For conditioning of the fist, it must be done for "impact", push-ups on hard surface does not achieve that; best striking a sandbag or a makiwara (wooden board wrapped on rope) for impact conditioning of the fist/knuckles. No Joshua, the thumb does not goes inside the fist. Make the fist for the exercises exactly the same way you would for punching; thanks for watching. In this video I explain how to make a fist that is heavy, solid and safe for you to strike with it:
