Meal time solution! When he is older and can hold his head up and sit properly, you can put him in the high chair with some toys to sit at the table with y’all while y’all eat!

You’re doing amazing Rachel! Watching you and your family grow has been amazing. Don’t get discouraged by the hate, it’s crazy how people get so defensive when someone is not doing things their way. But you’re relying on instinct and the knowledge you gathered and so far you’ve been doing amazing! 🤍

Getting a toy bar attachment for our stroller was a game changer for walks with our 5 month old! He loves walks/the stroller now bc he plays nonstop with the toy, and he’s started even enjoying looking around as we walk. Highly recommend getting one, ours plays music when you press a button and our son has figured out how to kick the button and looooves when the music starts.

Rachel, my daughter is almost 3 years old and she still wakes up at least 3-5 times during the night without falling asleep immediately every time. Cleared by every doctor there is, she just has a trouble with sleeping through the night (although there have been 5-6 nights since she was born that she slept through the entire night). We are EXHAUSTED.

4.5 month old with no set schedule, we both work full time and grandma babysits so it’s nearly impossible to have him on a set routine. He naps and sleeps when he wants but most days goes to bed around 9pm and wakes up for the day somewhere between 5-7am. He does fuss a few times a night and needs some help getting back to sleep. Your baby is sleeping so good!

My daughter hated going on walks in the stroller as a newborn too but it was a phase she grew out of (as is everything 😅 ) he’ll like the stroller probably in a few months, don’t worry! His neck seems very strong, do you have a carrier where you can wear him facing forward? He’ll be able to see what’s going on in the world but also feel close to you. And you can hold his little hands while you walk🥹 it’s the best! My daughter loved/still loves this!

Also, patting on the back does increase spitting up. What I used to do was just hold my baby over the shoulder and rub his back to get a burp. But when you pat they do spit up more!

Every baby is so different. But 8oz is on the higher end of oz for his age. My almost 5 month old sleeps through the night as well and gets 5 - 5oz bottles a day. We just switched the one when he first wakes to 6oz. He is also formula fed but doesn’t spit up more than maybe 2 times a day. I am not sure how many bottles a day Jesse takes but maybe it’s worth trying 6oz and if he still seems hungry after a bottle give him more?
My first babe would literally drink any amount we would give him but it wasn’t always a good thing because he didn’t know when he was full and would spit up a bunch after and be uncomfortable.
Just thoughts. You know Jesse best so if you aren’t concerned with the spit up he is probably totally fine!! Some babies just spit up more 😊

My baby is a month behind you and following moms on call “loosely” he wakes up between 11:30-1:00 am and always Grunting and or making some kind of noise at 4 am… I used to pay all the attention to it but when I pause to look at him, his eyes are closed !! I go back and forth soothing him and more recently, can soothe him until 6:45am. He’s not crying, I’m not ignoring him his eyes are literally closed 😅. he does sleep in the bassinet next to me.
Either way! You are doing great and you know your baby ❤ I look up to your videos excited to see jessie’s mile stones and to see what I have to look forward too

My kiddo wakes up between 5-6am most days. Sometimes she will grace up with a 6-7am wake up but that’s maybe 1-2 times a week. We have tried everything- earlier bedtime, later bedtime, less days sleep, more day sleep, etc etc. I think she just is an early riser. She’s about 7 months now and I’ve just stopped trying to fight it. I go to bed early and embrace the coffee and being awake before the sun 😂😂 she also still wakes 1-2 times a night to feed 😊
Our girlie is the most spitty-uppy baby of all time. It slows down around 5 months but has ramped back up with the introduction of solids. She does have an allergy but that’s under control now and still spits up a lot! Obviously every baby is different but my doctor said as long as she is gaining wait on her growth curve it’s all good!
You’re doing great mama! It’s so tough but just know you’re everything your little bub needs ❤

My only advice on the spit up is maybe having him drink 2-3 oz taking like a 5 min break and then feeding him again. My little one turning 4 months tomorrow and does the same if he drinks the bottle non stop lol also it can be for over feeding. My little one drink up to 6 oz the most anything over is when I notice the spit up gets bad lol good luck hopefully that helps hun! P.s. my experience with feeding is due to having 3 kiddos as well and you’ll learn as you go. You got this 😊

My baby used to hate bath time and then i found out a trick on a video that a watched. Basically you wrap him a little with a small towel or a burp cloth around his tummy so that he can hold on to the fabric while you're bathing him. My baby loves baths now. I guess it makes them feel more safe

My baby boy was also doing the 5am chronic wake ups for a bit. But after a lot of practice settling him back down at that time(not offering a bottle) he eventually caught on and would gradually sleep later until eventually we were sleeping 7am-7pm. Every baby has different sleeping habits but hopefully that helps. Also I noticed when he was 3 months old he usually needed a nap at 4-5pm (no later than 5) to avoid the evening fussiness, but I’m not sure what your book says about that. It’s all just trial and error to figure out what each baby wants really! ❤

My oldest never slept through the night and believe me when I tried so many methods and techniques other moms swore by he just never did. He finally slept through the night when he turned 1 and I weaned off breastfeeding. It was magical! My second baby is an amazing sleeper and he will go through phases where he does wake up at 6-6:30 am or sleep until 8 I notice it’s when he’s learning something new when he wakes up earlier than usual. Every baby is so different and yours will get the hang of sleeping soon enough 😉

  • @amandadieppa449
    @amandadieppa449 12 часов назад +1

Hi!!! Yes spitting up like that is normal . And babies at that age sleep for however long they want ahah so don’t worry about it yet. What I used to do when my baby was that age, was extend with night sleep. So whenever he woke up earlier than 12 hours , I’d extend his sleep as much as I could to get him to 12 hours, by feeding him and putting him on me until he didn’t want to sleep anymore. And I think it helped establish the 12 hour night sleep expectation. But I’m also a first time mom so I’m no expert by any means haha

My boy just turned 11 weeks, so just a tad younger than Jesse. He also gets up pretty early, like you asked at the end of the video. If we put him down for bed around 9, he’ll sleep until closer to 7, but we’ve been trying for a 7-8 bedtime and he usually gets up around 5-5:30am!
Also, for baths, we noticed he has strong opinions on the temperature of the water. He definitely is happier if the bath water is closer to 100-102° vs even if it’s at 98° he’s not having it. Could be a random thing with him, but worth a shot!

The same here!!! My baby boy is one week younger than Jesse, he will be three months on the 9th and he’s ALWAYS spitting 😩 I have took him to the pediatrician twice because of that and she says it’s totally normal. I got through tons of bibs a day, it’s crazy (it happens with breast milk and formula).
Unfortunately, my baby does NOT sleep through the night, so your lucky Jesse does!!! I don’t have any type of schedule with him, I just go with the flow, so maybe is because of that? 🤷🏻‍♀️

It seems to work best for him, although he doesn’t sleep through the night, he is breastfed, so I feel like it’s a little different, I don’t use bottles. I was wondering do you sleep in your own room and leave him in his own room, or do you sleep in the room with him? My baby is outgrowing his bassinet and I don’t know if it’s too soon to start putting him in his own bed in his room.

Rachel, you are doing great job. I think we doubt ourselves as mums..it’s hard. Obviously the next part is just my experience….because you asked ❤
My son was similar with spitting up….fussy in the pram and bath..most nappies had poop…and he farted a lot! At 6 months I found out he was allergic to my breastmilk. Once I found the right formula, he was so much happier and calmer. milk is obviously quite thick and has a thick surface tension. If baby has gas trapped in his tummy, when he burps, it can make them spit up. I gave mine a couple of drops of a natural colic relief product which breaks the surface tension of the milk and makes the gas easier to get out which means less spit up.
Mine didn’t like the pram because he was laying down too much…he needed to sit up more (even as a newborn). He also liked to see me sometimes….we had a pram which we could change the handle direction. The bath water can put pressure on their tummy and it can hurt if they have gas or feeling bloated. We used a shower hose in the bath which he loved. My husband used to take him into the shower with him if baby was really fussy….so he got cuddles from dad and the warm massage from water. He was calm in the shower with dad. We laid him on an incline in the bath too. The water on his tummy was like a massage which really calmed him. I used to add a lavender baby product which was calming.
When he was being fussy and I couldn’t work out why….I used to lay him on his back and move his legs - bend his knees up to his tummy. It becomes really obvious when they have a sore tummy..we just gently moved him and suddenly the gas would start escaping and he returned to being a happy little boy
And he didn’t sleep through that he night until he was 3 years old…but each baby has their own routine. I was incredibly lucky to have such a happy and sweet baby….he’s now 25 years old…but I remember how alone it feels when we can’t work out what they need or why they are fussy.

Also for the walks maybe try and use a car seat attachment for the stroller? my baby hates when he feels like he’s laying down. Some music? A fan maybe

    Third time Mama now! ❤
Yes spit up is definitely normal, especially formula, it is heavier on the tummy so doesn't settle as easily as breastmilk.
My 3mo. does so on the formula more than when he was getting breastmilk, never did then.
Bathtime is now calm with mine, so long as the water is very warm and he is totally covered with the water. I also use a large wash cloth to cover him while he's soaking. He seems to like that. But as a newborn he was afraid and would cry.
He started sleeping through the night beginning like 3 weeks ago, after setting a bedtime routine, similar to yours. But now all of a sudden, he's waking up 2-3x a night again.
I'm thinking a growth spir where he needs more feedings. It is tough after I was enjoying my sleep again. But also think it's a phase.
Every baby is different, doesn't come with a manual, still learning mine.
But looks like you're doing a great job!
It's validating to see that it's normal to not have the household run perfectly, and a good reminder of how much change a new baby brings.

I also dealt with insomnia, but in pregnancy, so I feel your pain! Magnesium does help me now, but also not looking at screens at least 20 min before bed has been a game-changer. It may not make a difference for the first few times, but eventually it will. Your book should help a lot, God-willing. Reading relaxes the mind before bed I’ve noticed, especially when you read something spiritually nourishing. ❤

He could be throwing up because he’s being bottle fed. Sometimes, babies tend to drink too much from „normal“ bottles. Maybe you could try the Medela Brand (if available in the US), with this brand babies have to work more for their milk and tend to drink only as much as they need to, so it’s closer to being breast fed.

My 4 month old is currently in her sleep regression but before that she would sleep from 7:30p-7:30a , but I still had/have to wake her at 10 and 4 to feed because she’s underweight. Pls make a video if Jesse goes through a 4 month regression! It’s been tough😩

Perfect day ❤ fussiness, difficulty, overstimulation and all. My baby is 8 weeks and I’m also following Moms on Call schedule loosely, pretty similar to you actually! Just that instead of a cat nap at around 5ish I sometimes give him an ounce or two to hold him over if he’s getting really fussy 🙈
I hate that you got hate for anything you did in this video. It makes no sense to me! It’s honestly baffling to me how other moms can criticize each other knowing how difficult motherhood in general is but especially early motherhood 🤯. I don’t know if it’s them projecting or what, but it’s crazy to me.
Please don’t let them get to you, you’re doing amazing truly. Your baby is well wed, loved and cared for. You focus on every little detail about him! You’re not out here neglecting him, not that the bare minimum should be our comparison standard, but still! You’re an amazing mother! Don’t let anyone else make you think otherwise!
Also I LOVE the idea of quiet time at night. Before having my baby boy, when I would do quiet time I it would be in the mornings and that’s no longer realistic but I’d gotten in the mindset of that if it’s not in the morning than it doesn’t happen without even realizing it and didn’t realize I could just do it at night when he’s asleep 😂 so thank you!!
Great job sis keep up the good work

Oh also! My baby spits up often too lol almost at every feed but same as you nothing of concern just regular “happy spit up” as they say. 😅
And my baby haaaaates baths 😂 has never liked them! BUT he looooves showering with my husband! So we just do that. 😊
Our shower head has a separate kinda hose like attachment and we use that instead of putting him under the actual shower head. My husband holds him (I’m too scared lol) and I rinse him with the hose attachment. He lovessss this! I’ve heard from other moms that their babies hated bath time at this stage too and grew to like it as they got older.
With walks maybe do them daily or like 3x week for 5-10 mins as long as he can go and see if he goes getting used to them! My baby didn’t like them at first either and now he suddenly lets us walk him for 15-20 mins! I felt alone too when he didn’t like it so maybe try to gradually increase the time and frequency of them

Jessie is beautiful. He is doing really well with his night sleep. Im wondering if he is starting to teeth as he is dribbling alot. And his little top was wet. Both them things could upset a baby. I am not criticising you in any way. Also if are feeling stressed babies pick up on that. You are a lovely family xx

When my twin brother and sister were babies and I was 13 when they started sleeping through the night we did have an issue with them waking up at like 5:00 in the morning like that when we would put them down earlier like at 7:30 or 8:30 ish so what we did was a nap closer to the evening like if I remember correctly a nap at around 5:30 ish and then they would stay up a little bit later like maybe until 9ish and then we put them down and they would sleep through the night and more into the morning.

Do baby Jessie takes a bath in warm water that he can tolerate? Because we carry our babies 9 months in our tummy and the amniotic fluid is warm so when they are born the environment will be a bit different for them. They will adjust. Also, it’s okay if you sponge bath him. I know we have different methods when it comes to taking care of our baby.

Hey my baby is just almost like urs.. he will be 3months in few days
    And i want to say
My baby’s neck is not yet stable like urs it is still 50% fragile
And my baby sleeps at 1am at night and wakes at 11am morning but he wakes 4times for feeding(approx5-10min each time)
And whole day he takes 4nap is it normal ??
(Baby is exclusive breast feed and refuses bottle)

    • @HeavyInYourArms12
      @HeavyInYourArms12 11 часов назад +1

Normal don't worry!Mine used to do all that but now that he is 8 months old he wakes up only one time to feed. Also takes two day naps before he took 4 like yours.

@ thanks it gives so much relive… and also my baby demands breast feed every 1 to 1:30hr during day time
      Which drains my energy
He gaining good weight what can i do so he can give me some time between feeds like 2-3 hrs

    • @HeavyInYourArms12

@@khanmaleehafirdaus5699 that age you feed on demand especially if you breastfeed. That what my midwife told me. Maybe if you use a different brand of bottle he will like it? Mine loves one brand( dr browns) and hates all the others. Also when you will start feeding food usually you don't breastfeed so much.

My baby hated going in the stroller for the first couple months, the only that helped I think was having him face me in the stroller. Does yours have a seat that can face you?
Ultimately I think time is what helped and around 3.5-5 months he starts liking it and would take a nap :)
    You’re doing great Rachel! 🫶🏻
