Great to have a comprehensive look through the book and hear your own thoughts and insights as you went! I have a copy of the old Essential Spider-man volume 1 which is just black and white reproductions of the first few issues on cheap newspaper type paper, it might not be the nicest thing to look at but I think owning these early Spidey stories is essential in one format or another.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, I plan to do more of these type of in depth discussions for the rest of the Spider Man omnis, and hopefully plenty of others like X-Men, Fantastic Four etc

I've been on a huge silver age Marvel binge lately and recently finished this volume. From an art and story telling perspective I honestly don't enjoy the vast majority of comics from this period. That being said, it's definitely still worth reading from a historical perspective. This was where the Marvel universe was born, this is where the vast majority of the characters we love were created. Whether you enjoy it or not I think every comic book fan owes it to themselves to read these issues.
It's a shame you didn't enjoy much of it, but I can understand why, some of the early stuff is a bit rough around the edges, some characters more so than others. I think Spider-Man and Fantastic Four are the main two exceptions though, with Spidey in particular being really good right from the start and only getting better throughout the silver age and into the bronze age. You're absolutely right that it's all worth checking out from a historical perspective at the very least though!
What's funny is that the Enforcers to this day still show up from time to time. They're like the Tinkerer xD. I remember they even showed up over at the Ultimate Universe during the Kingpin arc lol
@@TheComicBookTrove And then Vol 4! Haha, tbh I just rly hope Marvel finally reprints the whole Ultimate Universe. They made a Ultimate X-Men Omnibus already (with a vol2 confirmed iirc) and if im not mistaken they reprinted The Ultimates omnibus I guess, good stuff
I just bought these on ebay vol 1 and 2 and waiting for them to arrive. They cost me a pretty penny but sold some stuff to make up the hurt in my wallet. This looks Amazing page after page..no pun intended! There is no other way i would get these early issues individually....the great thing is the pages and art looks new!
The quality of the art restoration is definitely really good - even if you somehow had a mint condition original of any of the issues collected in here it wouldn't look as good as it does here! Hope you enjoy the books when they arrive 🙂
@@-edsense-rivera3716 Actually it's a good idea. I've been searching for Vol. 1 for ages through retailers and ebay, only to be disappointed by the high prices. haven't facebook yet. Thanks!
There isn't a confirmed reprint at this point in time, but I'm sure it's had more printings than any other Marvel omnibus, and since next year will also be the 60th anniversary of Spidey, I feel very confident it will reprinted again sooner rather than later
