    It's not a dodgy road. Slow down and observe where the pull in lay byes are. There are well signed posted to to inform you in advance.
    I'm glad you enjoyed this geological area.

    It’s funny, I drive the Lairg-Laxford bridge road several times a week and have never thought it dodgy. Maybe in winter with a foot of snow 😅

      Or at 5am when a Range Rover nearly knocks you off the road coming out of an estate road at speed without looking or when a water lorry comes round a blind corner at 60mph!!!

    Hi I enjoy you videos. just wondering where you get your info about which lochs to fish. I usually go to the west side such as assynt where there is more published information. I have the sandison book but there not quite enough info or its out of date.

    • @roderickwalker491
      @roderickwalker491  Год назад

      Hi the problem with the lochs is what fished well on one day may not give you a pull on another. Dry fly can give at times very good sport due to the fact most fishermen only want to strip wets at speed so fish are not guarded against the static fly. My holiday this year some lochs were fishing badly so we went to others in hope they would produce. Regards Rod

      We too use Sandisons book but as you say it is out of date for tickets etc.

      It's funny you say I had to fish dries more to catch fish this summer in Assynt. Although no one was catching there until it cooled down after June.

    Great video! such a scenic place to fish. I wonder whats the biggest trout has been caught in this lake.

      Six pounds not long ago, I had a three pounder last year and if it fell off l would have guessed it's weight at over five pounds, they fight so long and hard. Rod

    Hi, can you tell me what inflatable boat you use and how practical it is for two fly fishing at the same time ?

    • @roderickwalker491
      @roderickwalker491  9 месяцев назад

      Hi the boat is the 9foot Honwave by Honda, I have fly fished many times in it with a friend. If I was to buy again I would get the next size up the 9 ft size was the largest when packed that I could get in my car. If you have subscribed you can look at some of my older videos on the Honwave. Im also up in Sutherland doing a bit of Loch and Salmon Fishing at the moment, one of the best places on earth! Ive also recently been looking at electric outboards and notice you have the Epropulsion, what do you think of it? Very enjoyable video. Tight lines!

      Just great, you can fish all day and only use about a third of the battery. Rod
