Thank you. Can't wait to head back next year. Hopefully earlier in the season.
Last year my mate was pulling a size 8 Goddard Caddis on this loch and the fish were hitting it like a popper.
An HUGE fish came off it a few years back (double figures) and the boy killed it.
Was raging when I heard that.

Braw fish. I've decided I'm gonna try sticking to static dry on the hill lochs next season, only really just started it at the very back end of this season, but it's definitely worth it. Even when fish aren't rising, seem to do better on them.

Can't go wrong with a daddy long legs. Caught fish on them as early as April!

Cracking wee loch , typical hill loch fish this year long n skinny not too many flys to eat this year i think.

Was such a brutally cold season. In early November here we had a hot spell, and it was warmer at NIGHT than it was on any day in June!

Why do so many 'experts' claim it's impossible to catch wild lochan trout in a flat calm? It's just not true. However, I do get more success on a lighter setup that the one you're using.

Yeah , I got into the habit of using 7wts but I'm trying to wean myself off them. 😆
      Next year I'll be using a 5wt more often.👍🏻

4 tips for you for handling fish decently: 1. wet your hands before touching; 2. never land on the grass or soil but in the water (where do you have a wet suit for?); 3. use barbless hooks; and 4. don't squeeze them just after the head (their heart is there). But nice lake you were.
