When Olivia is talking about dress being heavy and she felt the weight of the dress on her arm, this is one of the reasons why women wore corsets, there are a lot of misconceptions about corsets, tight lacing is shown way too often in movies in tv shows, but actually tight lacing wasn't that often practiced, it wasn't a purpose of corsets to make waist smaller, corset was a supporting garment and one of the benefits of wearing it was that the weight of the dress was distributed to the center of the body which made it easier to wear a dress constructed from a lot of fabric.
Despite so many interviews talking about hair + costume not once was their comfort, or lack thereof, mentioned (I assume because they don't want to go out of their way to speak complaints on such beautiful and hard work of the designers), so that was a nice question! Kudos to you and your friend Also that specification of take/nick was a funny insight. Truly unthought of lol
I'm not sure if I'm allowed to tell this story but I'm not working anymore for the studio so what the heck... I was one of the persons who worked on Olivia Cooke character's costumes, and we've always got pictures about the fittings and one time her face was literally said WTF is going on, it was hilarious XD.
This looks like it's from the 90's....the glow from the lens, the clothing, even the general colours....like vicar of dibley or something 😂 maybe its just me
5:30 they complain about patriarchal control with "women having to wear dresses" and its a burden on set, while men literally have to wear heavy ass, hot ass iron armor all day😂
that's literally for their own protection tho they wear it or they die whats the purpose of an uncomfortable heavy ass dress on a woman other than appealing to the male desire of the female body? 😭😭
@@jscmrc im not talking about in-show lol im talking about on set. They as ACTORS were complaining how difficult it was to wear such heavy dresses while men apparantly "got away easily", whereas they literally have to sit around whole shoot days in heavy hot armor. Her complaint of women having it tough didnt quite work there.
@@jscmrc right. They wear it or else they die while the women wear feminine clothes to be pretty. High heels are dang uncomfortable but we wear them anyways because it makes us look and FEEL pretty. Why do we pin things to men all the time. We even say that we dress up more for other women not for men. You can't scream "strong independent woman" and then have ZERO accountability all the time.
Maybe because the armor exudes some "cool warrior" kind of vibes. Idk, I'm completely speculating here... i'm a woman and I'd gladly don an armor all day and wield a sword than wear those medieval dresses
I really want Emma to narrate a documentary
True when i heard their voice in the opening ep 1 (at the time i didnt knew it) i was like damn their voice so beautiful & elegant

I think Emma is, they placed it in their mantelpiece 😊

This cast is absolutely amazing. They really don't disappoint on any level.
Totally agree!
How could they NOT be around for Season 2? The war just began.
Great casting , I can’t wait till it’s their time to play their role
For sure

@@rolanddano3071 LOL I can almost see her huge expressive eyes and lips tilting out of confusion 🤨🧐 Appreciate the sharing!
@@rolanddano3071 aren't they wearing stays/corsets? It would disperse the weight on the hips instead of on the shoulders and back.
I’m pretty sure the costumers are quite aware of the construct of their costumes.
No disrespect intended
It’s not a slip… no one knew if there would be a second season but just recently it was confirmed there will be more to come.
I hope the House of the Dragon last long to the point the story is in the Blackfyre Rebellion
