i appreciate phia's insight on b&c in the show. it is a shame that it was different from the book, but helaena's character is fundamentally different from her book version as well. i think the show's portrayal is truer version to her character.
I completely agree. I think the book version of events was absolutely heartbreaking, but this was still heartbreaking and I think will add to her character more than just she slowly loses her mind. I also think the exclusion of Maelor as a second son is interesting because it does leave Aemond as Aegons heir, which is now more interesting after Rooks Rest and episode 5. I think all in all, die hard book fans will be disappointed, but they would have found something to be disappointed by anyway. And the changes won’t take away from potential character growth for multiple characters.
I honestly feel bad for Alicent, the moment she finally tries to embrace liberation suddenly awful thing happened. Like it'll just add more guilt to her already growing guilt with Aemond killing Luke and then her making Aegon king.
While they’re all great actors, Phia is the most intriguing and unpredictable of the cast, just like her character. Looking at her body language and the way she listens, not to mention her answers.
It's not an accident that Alicent slept with see Cristen Cole. She was hightower green with jealousy of Rhaenyra. She wanted Rhaenyra's freedom, Rhaenyra's power and Rhaenyra's throne. In her mind, she's sleeping with Viserys out of duty (even though what she cant admit to herself is that she agreed to do so partly for the thrill in being queen) And here Rhaenyra is with her young, hot knight, not caring that the rules of the world she lives in would frown on it. Alicent is like so many repressed people who resent others for daring to do the things they would never have the courage to, only to prove themselves hypocritical by eventually doing that exact same thing.
The logical of choosing the couples doesn’t work for Matt and Fabien cause there characters doesn’t have such a strong connection. Matt would be a more logical pair to Ewan.
It's always interesting listening to Fabien's thoughts on Criston because it's so out of step with what people perceive based on what they see on screen. Criston does seem better at Rhaenyra still. Something's not connecting.
To be fair, Fabien didn't actually say Criston wasn't bitter towards Rhaenyra. He didn't even say he wasn't still angry at her. All he said was that he doesn't think that Criston truly "hates" her. And there is a significant difference between all those things...
I mean, it’s an actors job to understand their character. Tom, aegons actor, said in an interview that you have to find something to like about your character because if you just hate them then your portrayal won’t be accurate
finally some interviewer touched on Criston being a common factor between Rhaenyra and Alicent. Fabien's answer is certainly intriguing
Love the interviewer she asked the most thoughtful and interesting questions
Im rewatching interviews with the cast..I love them all 💚🖤
Tom and Phia have amazing chemistry 💚💚💚

Agreed. As disappointing as it was to see the difference, it made more sense for the character they had created for the show

Also not to mention she’s smexing the lord commander who has left the queen without a sworn protector, just in general

Phia really cracked the code
Phia is so amazing
I have the impression the actors could be better writers for the show. Specially for Alice and Cole.
