Just came back from London seeing this live, honestly it was the most amazing show, from the show, to the cast, to the set. It was all so fantastic!! I will definitely be booking again!!
❤Loved you loved the show. The 2 leads mary bert are from our Australian Tour 2022. Nicest people...and I'm glad they are over the pond leading the uk/Ireland tour 2024/2025. My favourite song to do Jolly Hollyday cause the song and all the costumes changes and scenery changes...and then it all returns to black and white after the number is done...and the storm lightning 🌩 effects role in. But my best show queue was puppeting the Mr.Punch head at the end of act.1
How I love Mary Poppins! I first saw the film. My parents put on a charity evening at The Odeon Leicester Square in January of 1965. Julie Andrews lived down the road from us in Wimbledon, that was a few years back! I’ve seen it with Zizi a couple of times and at the end of July we are going to a ‘tech talk’ before watching it again. It’s just supercalifragilistic, isn’t it!
Practically perfect Zizi Strallen!! And this is my first time seeing Louis Gaunt performing as Bert!!! Loved Louis here ♡ What an amazing show, wish Mary Poppins could just pop up in my room and take me to the west end with her umbrella ☂
@@AmberXx5936 well, he left a few days ago for the new show “Crazy for you”, which runs until the 4th September, but I’ve read that Louis Gaunt is only replacing Charlie so I’d guess he’s coming back afterwards :)
I loved the original UK cast of this show. West end and Pre west end. Laura Michele Kelly, Gavin Lee, David Haig, Linzi Hateley, Melanie La Barrie, Gerard Carey, Jenny Galloway, Claire Machin, Stuart Neal, Matthew Malthouse, Jye Frasca, Zak Nemorin, Andrew Wright, Poppy Tierney, Tamara Mckoy-Patterson, Terel Nugent, Phil Michael Thomas & lots more.
I've seen it 3 times and want to see it again. Zizi Strallen as Mary P and Charlie Stemp as Bert were absolutely fabulous. Charlie Stemp seems to have a good replacement judging by this.
Although Cameron Macintosh had to negotiate with Disney to get the rights to the famous songs by the Sherman Brothers the stage rights were negotiated directly with the late PL Travers who hated the film. George Stiles and Anthony Drew wrote extra songs for the stage show directed by Richard Eyre with a new book by Julian Fellows and choreography by Matthew Bourne. So this really is a Cameron Macintosh show unlike Frozen or The Lion King.
I can’t be bothered to check haha but the ones yesterday would have been more likely to have matinees to get back for whereas Sun matinees are less common.
Although what the other person said makes sense too with Disney being strict on copyright and maybe not wanting costumes to be seen outside of the show.
@@emmermayonegg Disney has no copyright over the Cameron Macintosh production as I said, just the Sherman Brothers' songs. As I said, Cameron had to spend a lot of time convincing Travers that he was going to go back to her books for material and there would be no dancing penguins etc!! If she had said 'no,', there would not have been a stage production. So he has the stage rights not Disney. But they were delighted to be linked to currently the world's most successful stage producer.
Funny to see Zizi in this role......go back to the Rock of Ages WEL videos......she is the one wearing the least clothes!!!!! Glad to see her in a well deserved lead role.
Zizi Strallen Mary Poppins Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Louis Gaunt Bert Mary Poppins Current London West End Prince Edward Theatre Covent Garden
It is an excellent show, but it is unclear why they have inserted a part in which there is the "queen" of England, the English flags, etc. What does it have to do with Mary Poppins? We're all a bit tired of "propaganda" in every corner of our lives.
one of the best musicals currently in the west end
Not a lot of competition though is there these days!!
@@kathp6689 you wrong
Seen it in April and it was very good
and i saw it this summer!
I've seen it 3 times. My favourite musical, both the Movie and on stage in the WE, hope to see it a 4th time :)
Happy 20th anniversary, Mary Poppins the west end musical. 🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈
I have no words describe how great this cast just performed, because they already sang it, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

I watched a community theater performance this summer!
The songs never fail to give the chills

I remember this show performed live at the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford in Yorkshire in England in the UK in 2016.
Seeing this musical tommorow so excited
Love this show so much!! So magical!
This was my very first broadway musical I’ve ever seen
practically perfect☂️🌸
Louis is going to be massive, from Grease UK 2019 tour to Bridgerton to Mary Poppins on the west end; his career is just growing
This is such a creative fun musical!
It’s thanks to this musical that I can spell supercalifragilisticexpialidocious 😁
Marry popins best show show tour
It will be touring again starting this November in Bristol

LOVE IT!!
Zizi was superb in this show. Amazing!
That’s my mate up there !
i feel sorry for the hand sign guy having to sign supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.... xd
why is this one so quiet?? all the others ive watched are regular sound levels
that is true. identical was also a bit quiet you couldnt really hear it well.
It's not quiet for me
West end live never usually seems to be able to gets their sound right
It always seems to be either to quiet or to loud 🤷🏻♀️
My volume is as high as possible and I can barely hear it.
Because it’s outside not in a theatre when the noise is trapped in
I've seen it 3 times and want to see it again. Zizi Strallen as Mary P and Charlie Stemp as Bert were absolutely fabulous. Charlie Stemp seems to have a good replacement judging by this.
zizi fits the role so well! personally i think charlie stemp is the best bert but louis is also very good!
Gavin Lee was the original and best stage Bert!!! Now Lumiere in the west end.
@@kathp6689 I saw Gavin way back. But they’re all great, it’s a terrific foolproof show, brilliantly adapted for the stage.
@@kathp6689 I saw Gavin in the West End in Stephen Sondheim's Old Friends

I do wonder why this Disney show is performing in full costume, whereas Frozen/Lion King never do
