@@peterdarker3863 I sorta agree here but tbh I think it was lacking in the gameplay. Great video after all this time wasnt expecting a video to come out thankyou TheMisterEpic i really enjoyed my time with the frost union looking back on it.
Hey Epic, here's an idea for you: Try doing a 1000 player Civilizations thing in Vintage Story. The way the game works naturally encourages genuine specialization of labour, trade routes, social coordination, way more so than Minecraft could ever hope. You would get fascinating events and patterns, people dividing into groups, conflicts and alliances, all without having to intervene at all or create any preset civilizations to join or anything custom; the roleplay would basically write itself! I don't think anyone has tried it on large scale before, even though Vintage Story is way more optimized than Minecraft so could probably handle it.
Would be cool! But tech should be locked, for some time. So players couldn't skip to different periods. + I would add mods, to expand the tech tree, so u got everything from each age. Would be cool having temporarly ice age, for couple in-game years, so nobody can't farm anything nd' everybody is forced to do hunters-gatherer playstyle (also people wouldn't able smelt copper during that period), but temperature would increese each year, to the point where planting a plants would sustainable. Also i would completly disable map, and make mod, that will allow u map stuff after u craft actual map. All resources, should rarely generate on big map. So u got like 10 large copper veins on like 1000x1000 map.
@@skele3776 Tech progression is hard enough that I don't think this would be necessary, and while an ice age would be super cool it would just stall things for ages. IGotByLotOfNames made this like video with GregTech few years ago, it's nice that you made another this type of video because they are pretty funny, unlike other civilizations
Not gonna lie, while it's an interresting take on the whole civilization concept, it doesn't really seem like there was much actual civilizing. I think calling this civilization simulation might be bit to stretched out. It's basically factions with some minor tweaks. The game mode has set goals - mainly destroying other factions cores and raiding them, which naturally leads players to focus on fighting and killing others, but not much else. Basically all the players did the whole time was build bunker bases and fight, which to me is just boring. I want them to build visually interresting bases, make political aliances, do diplomacy, invent quirky ways of life and such. It helps to relate to the individual factions and makes you root for them when they do the fighting. Here I was just kinda bored, I didn't really have anyone to root for, they were all just kinda the same - people fighting other people to win, as the video portrays it, there was nothing interresting about the individual factions, their goals were the same and their tactics to achieve them were the same, it was always just another faction doing pvp and raiding others to score points. The most interresting by far were those who didn't do that, which was the doge religion, but even they were kinda boring, because there was like 5 minutes of the video covering them, and they didn't do anything grand. I get that that the whole thing was largely pvp oriented and so that's the result and some people enjoy that, but for me personally, while an alright video, it wasn't particularly interresting.
I think the issue is that trying to force it just doesn't work. You'd have to get actual enthusiasts together and let it stretch out over a good period of time. It'd probably have to be a competitive building project with criteria that discourages but doesn't completely block killing / 'wars'.

Loved this video, feels like you really did something unique and fun with a tired and overused concept! There was so many exhilarating and intense fights too, 10/10
Great video, fantastic editing and great story telling so very fun to watch :) But it's more of a 3 factions competition than a civilizations video. When you give already established systems of interaction, the point of building a civilization is gone, because a civilization is a system of organized interaction. Also two factions having walkers in the name seems a bit off and makes them seem more alike than they should be, "Riders" " Gliders" or other synonyms.
its very unique i think the video could do better and be improved if the players voices (vc's) were heard, it makes it more engaging and personal. Nice video tho!!!
amazing video, but wouldn't be a little counter intuitive that there would be kits to buy ingame that had large degrees of purchasbility, I know that most of the kits can be gotten through voting and most features of the game are free and you don't have to buy it, but it would give rid of the "vanilla experience" from the description of the server listing

Why it's all just about war? Why there isn't any cultural or social evolution? I don't even talk about the politics there, it's really simplistic. And how everything is made in vanilla i rarely see any technological evolution, everything looks the same for past 30 minutes. Would be cool, install couple mods, make some custom. For example never saw any civ vid with mod called "Terrafirmacraft". Would be cool add some tech tree, researchin' new tech would be really costly and time consuming. And make resources rare nd' more regional, so players are forced to actually trade nd' do trade routes. There should be focus on punishin a war and make it more an rare occourence. And more focus on the logistics, culture, trade routes of these civilizationts. So it's realistic as possible.
I mentioned this in another reply, but the issue is that you just can't force it. Winds up having to be a scripted thing if you want that on a large scale. Some stuff is boring, people like fighting, others find it 'easier' to fight for resources, and there's one other thing. People sometimes only care about the gameplay rather than actually "roleplaying" which is the point of a few of these things.
@@SlendHQ It can be made, why not experiment with stuff? Instead doing shallow content, why not put there some hard work, put there thought, like on old YT (2011), where lot's of MC content, mainly animationts or skits we're intelectual, and not just few edgy teens infighting each other.
@@skele3776 I wouldn't say it's [that much] the fault of the creators when it comes to civilization videos specifically. Maybe they can just have an extensive vetting process, but I imagine most of them don't have time or patience for it. A few folks do script their videos which sucks. Others might not. If they were able to get players to do stuff on their willing accord, I think we'd see more and genuine videos. There're definitely creators with vision, it just takes resources and talent in the material things to make animations and skits + videos of large scale as intended.

The Planes Walkers skin shown in the intro is one I have used for over 6 years in Minecraft.
Someone actually making a unique and interesting version of these civilization events? W
