The historical accuracy of some of the events that happened is hilarious. Carthage becoming a great power, Mansa Musa's trip through the Middle East, and the Spartans being hired as mercenaries. It's beautiful.
What a cinematic masterpiece. That last shot of Oddimur looked so badass. The next video should be everyone living in a barren wasteland following the aftermath.

What I meant was he probably participated in the event to see the end. And to have fun or course. Also scratch the part of my comment where I stated “All because some guards let him lose”. While the end wasn’t caused by him, he did cause plenty of chaos!
I feel like the natural sequel would be to simulate the same world in a post-apocalyptic scenario like Fallout or something, with settlements forming slowly over time and trying to survive in a world that is now a wasteland.
I like to imagine the Oddimur, the man that basically kicked the first stone to cause what would turn out to be the end of the world, was just sitting peacefully outside his hut watching the nukes drop

Considering the original concept was if the entire world was put into Minecraft, with only some knowing how the world worked, I'd love to see this series with Minecraft modded beyond recognition. For example RL craft. That way, most people won't know how the world works and civilizations will develop organically as they discover how to craft stuff.

technically, if they chose to continue this they could have continued far into the fallout. Covering the nuclear winter aspect of civilization, the rise of underground civilizations growing in power to attempt to one day walk the surface safely again. Ofc because of conditions you're more likely to run into a group of raiders barely any better off than you than run into a major civilization for long after nukes would go off. Technically even after 200 years irl there wouldnt be much solid groups.
After 10 months of waiting, Magic certainly did not disappoint with this video. I was part of the South Americans on day 1. There wasn’t much screen time of the early days of SA but I can explain some things. We went east to the coast to make our first base, it looked pretty nice. During our election there was an earthquake (which made it into the video) and a following tsunami (which did not make it in the video), flooding the base and killing our parrot. The base in the video has to be abandoned and we went west inland to make a new home. We were doing pretty well until Winter came and we were all given Hunger III. We barely survived the Winter but unfortunately I died of starvation due to the lack of food. That’s all I can share of my experience, it’s a shame I died on day 1 of the 8 days, but it was a really fun event anyways. By the way, for some extra info on the event itself: -No hostile mobs spawned and friendly mobs were really really rare -The event was split into Earth part 1 (6 sessions) and Earth part 2 (2 sessions -Thirst was a mechanic in Earth part 1 (the white text above the hot bar that you can see in some of the footage). You had to drink water bottles to keep it up, if it gets low you are afflicted with slowness, blindness, and then slowly start dying -There were two sets of nukes, some at the end of Earth part 1 and some at the end of Earth part 2. Part 1 required the construction of a nuclear silo in your empire while part 2 required 3 out of the continent’s ingredients -In part 1, each of the sessions were three hours long but it was extended to five hours on day 3/4. This is why you heard eggcat say that the session was extended to 5 hours -Part 1 initially had 4 days planned, but 2 additional days were added to finish off the part 1 nukes. Eggcat died on day 4, fully expecting that the event would be over, only to find out the event was getting extended -Taiwan was nuked three times in Part 1, and 2-3 additional times in Part 2
The ending really captures the emotions of the viewer, I love the plot everytime it never became dull, I really hope you come up with more of these videos, keep it up!

It felt like I was watching a animated movie! This video is arguably the best Minecraft Civilization video I've ever seen. That was really cool! I’ve never seen a minecraft civilization this packed with detail and storylines, like there’s so many things that are in this video that aren’t in others; the nuclear weapons, the olympics, the assassin’s guild, space agencies, it’s amazing. I really think Magicgum does a great job with these types of videos lots of other youtubers will split them up and make them fight eachother literally saying last man standing wins but this all feels more natural like an actual civilization and way less scripted then most other civilization videos

Well, he did stage the Salem Witch Trials. But I have no problem with it. As a history buff, I absolutely loved every historical reference.

So while it is sad that it's all been destroyed, every building, every fight, every government, everything in this event is preserved in this video which won't be going anywhere!

The ending was a cinematic masterpiece. The music playing over the end of the world was beautiful.
It felt like I was watching a animated movie! This video is arguably the best Minecraft Civilization video I've ever seen. The character Development, the plot , the players, Odimurr and everything else was just perfect. Absolutely Amazing and Hats of of to every player that participated in the video.

That was really cool! I’ve never seen a minecraft civilization this packed with detail and storylines, like there’s so many things that are in this video that aren’t in others; the nuclear weapons, the olympics, the assassin’s guild, space agencies, it’s amazing. I hope I can participate in one of these videos lol

I really think Magicgum does a great job with these types of videos lots of other youtubers will split them up and make them fight eachother literally saying last man standing wins but this all feels more natural like an actual civilization and way less scripted then most other civilization videos

I loved the ending. It was so emotional and heartfelt. The character development was amazing. And the last shot of Oddimur standing and watching the end as he wished. It sent chills down my back. One question though, what mod did you use for the nukes?
