I’m a big quartz fanboy in any watch. It’s just what speaks to me……..that disclaimer notwithstanding I still like the quartz model better here. The reason being that I feel it really captures the essence of what this watch is. A remake of a 1970s Tissot model that was quartz, and produced at the height of the quartz crisis.
Love the look of this watch. Quartz is fine. Cool to see them together. But my friend, it either hits the marks or it doesn’t. It’s the same with all sixty seconds.
I'd go as far as to say that it does matter, and that this type of watch is better suited as a quartz. This is a re-release of a watch that originally featured a quartz movement, inspired by the 70s-a time when quartz ruled the market. It's designed to be a daily wearer: practical, tough, accurate, and reliable. I firmly believe that the PRX is better as a quartz watch, but in a market that seems to believe that automatic is automatically nice, I can see why they release one with an automatic movement to0.
Given the original 70s watch was Quartz, that's the one to get.same great case and bracelet at half the price. Pocket enough money for a different automatic dress watch.
I just got home from the shop with the sunburst deep blue quartz version 35mm. It looks awesome on my just over 6-inch wrist. I think anyone who has a wrist size under 7 inches needs to buy the 35mm. I tried on the 40 and it wears more like a 42. It's HUGE!
Last week I tried exactly these two models and the white full lume dial. Went home with the white one. In my opinion this watch is all about style and the movement doesn't really add/take anything to/from it. Fit and finishing is exactly the same and if you factor in the price then the auto at almost twice the price just looks overpriced.
Just by looking at the quartz one tick i get annoyed. The powermatic PRX was my first automatic watch and i never wanna wear any of my old quartz watches anymore.
To me the main difference is just the dial color if I could get the quartz ice blue waffle I would no reason for me to spend double the price for a dial color
Depends if you like a waffle dial or not. I personally hate them. Been toying with one of these since they were announced and if I ever do get one it’d be quartz. Quartz has its merits!
@randomrob just thought I'd mention that on mobile when watching your vids when switching to landscape view the colouration gets bleached out. Only seems to happen to your videos so maybe you wanna look into that. All the best.
What device do you have? On my iPhone it looks amazing. So prior I was using an app to record and it was not in focus well. Now I am using the direct iPhone camera and it is for sure brighter. You are not the only one to bring this to me, but when I test it and ask many others there are good reviews. So you can imagine my frustration
@@RandomRobReviews I'm using a Xiaomi redmi pro phone. I noticed for a number of your vids it's been happening but thought maybe it's just my phone, but it doesn't happen with any other RUclips vids I view. I guess ask a few other trusted viewers for a 2nd opinion.
@@Daniel-bv2wcLol im also Daniel and with Xiaomi redmi 9 pro 😂 have same problems video is like bleached, its weird also because it happens only on Rob videos and maybe few other ones at whole youtube.
Quartz makes a lot of sense with this model 👌
Quartz is AWESOME!!
The dial color and brushing on the quartz is why I went for that one. Great summer watch. The color on that one is incredible.
Agree! 👍
Took the quartz with both the bracelet and the leather strap, the second being more comfortable during summer.
Good daily, not great, not bad.

The dial color is amazing on both!
I will always pick Quartz over Automatic. I like to set it and forget it for the next 5 years.

I just gifted my PRX quartz to a friend who was looking for his first watch. I still have the PRX Chrono and may get a auto green, just because.
I have black automatic. After one year it ticks almost perfect, as they promised.

Best prx review quartz vs auto
short and sweet, Rob, ha ha. I can tell that this was a light snack between the meals. thanks for the review.
Want to see the Tissot PRX 35mm vs Nautilus 5712 watch.
Quartz all the way 35 mm. My wife grabbed it ,and wears it daily. I would buy the chrono if it were smaller.

A pretty popular watch these days, if they make it in a GMT they will sell MORE

Is the quartz colour called mint green?
Yes it is. It looks rather vibrant in this vid, but it's more subtle in person. I love it.
Love my tiffany prx

Honestly the dial upgrade on the auto model is worth the price of admission alone.

You said the quartz is 132 gram, thats not right, i weighed mine and its 117g
yea i got it from an authorized big dealer in sweden
I weighed full watch all links. Maybe you have some removed?

Just made couple changes. See if the sale video looks any better when I post soon
@@RandomRobReviews all works okay now Rob. Colour is fine.
Apparently the quartz uses plastic parts too, looks awsome but cheaply made
But those plastic parts aren’t visible or they are?
Plastic for "self lubricating".
