underrated comment TvT
I feel like I’ve got a bit of a mixture. I’m talkative around people I know & feel comfortable around. I don’t do good in large crowds & I’m drained after a party or get together. I would rather be at home most of the time w/ my routine, reading, binge watching shows, etc… I’m definitely a thinker and I’m an observer. It takes my body& mind forever to get aligned, productive, active, motivated daily. I haven’t had real friends since my early 20’s. I’m married & have kids now& my mom. Those are the only people I care to have any sort of long term interactions with. When I got married & had a child before my long time friends, they dropped off like flies. I don’t trust getting close to a lot of people now. I also have a problem with getting use to others. I am who I am, I don’t think I’ll ever change much.
Same here. My story is the same except for the mom part because I've been single all my life well so far
Why should you change ? You are happy being you as you should be
I'm 25 and I'm an anxious introvert, but also a restrained introvert. I was recently reminded how much anxiety I have being in big social contexts. It was a truly humbling experience as I was brought right back down to earth.
I'm always so sensitive about what people think of me and hate to draw attention to myself in public. I sometimes hate being this way.
Me too. (I'm not a native English speaker and I'm not using the translator, so sorry if I say something wrong or out of context, I'm practicing)
I identify as anxious and restrained introvert. I also hate it. It's something that sometimes I think I can't change it. I get so anxious when thinking about my behavior and cry when I'm alone, because I don't want anybody to see me cry and to think I am a crybaby.
Well, I translated the word "crybaby", but only that.
@@Isabela-uf3dd I understand you (about both the English limitations and the anxiety and fears). It makes it a bit more difficult for me to connect with other people most times. I often wish I can change this about myself, but I remind myself to accept me for who I am first.
My best advice will be to not let it trouble you. Just work on making yourself better as a person overall. Add value to yourself, so that you can add value to the people in your life. Also, be around people who make you happy.
I truly wish you the very best.
@Benjamin
I wanna ask you something are you married or single if you are married then I wanna ask you does u r wife supports you or forces u to socialize more I know this question is weird but pls do answer
@@ChrisWesley2726 I'm single.
Maybe it might help to realize that while you worry about what other people think of you, actually they do not think of you at all. THEY worry about what YOU think of them.
there are actually 5 types of introverts:
1. social
2. thinking
3. anxious
4. restrained
5. *all of the above*
I'm 5
yes. i'm #5.
also, because of #1, i thought that i was just a shy extrovert, but now i realize that there was more to that "shy" part, and that i'm really just an intovert.
5 too
5
yea, i'm 5
Type 1: oh, this is me.
Type 2: no, this is.
Type 3: wait...
Type 4: Hmm
I relate to many of these so much, mostly the social introvert, but instead of feeling comfortable around my closest friends, I feel comfortable around anyone who I have interacted with multiple times, so I am probably just an ambivert
Saaaame. Its like i belong in all those types
yo same
YEP
Type 3: me
I'm a social introvert. I am not shy, anxious, nor am I afraid to speak up and say what I think or to contribute to topics of interest. In fact, I'm considered one of the more talkative ones in that environment. I'm not afraid to start a social conversation either so will happily strike up a chat with someone I don't know. I am not inclined to small talk though, don't like talking about myself much and I really don't like being in social situations more than an hour or two at most. I find social situations - even ones I enjoy - exhausting after a while. I do need one or two close friends, but do not crave friends by numbers. I spend most of my time alone and am happy to do so. I feel sorry for anyone that is afraid to go into a cafe or shopping without taking someone with them. Funnily enough they probably feel sorry for me for sitting in the corner alone reading a book or my phone.
You’ve described me to a T! 😁
@@mysonsmom9754 Me too 😊
Thank you! This has been a God send to me.
All my life i thought there was something wrong with me, so I'd go to big social gatherings and watch awesome outgoing and interesting people. I memorized their phrases, body language, the way they looked at people, the pitch of their voice- everything.
Then people thought i was fascinating and I ended up being president of two museum boards (different years). I was frantic and exhausted.
So happy I don't have to apologize for myself anymore and can just quietly do my own thing and say "No" without apologizing.
when you are a mix of all of them but it all depends on the day, mood, circumstances and the people you are with that day

I'm an introvert that loves to be alone but also wants to have friends but is afraid to talk to someone but is actually an extrovert when friends are close enough.
Same except for the very last part, im awkward around my friends too and often scare them off or stop talking to them cause I realize I make people uncomfortable when im being myself.
I’m pretty similar, but not exactly the same. I don’t really care about making new friends, and I’m not extroverted with people I know, but I am less anxious when I’m with people I know so I act more like myself and speak my mind more. I also struggle with talking to new people, I’ll usually just stay quiet unless they directly approach me by asking a question or just talking to me.
Lol that's so me too
@@Triple6x_ same
I feel that but joke's on me because I don't let anyone get close enough.
I align most closely with being a restrained introvert though I identify with elements of all four personality types. What makes me anxious is not social interactions themselves but knowing the attitudes and feelings that I’m going to encounter. It’s encountering the irritating common extrovert attitudes in this society that makes my heart rate increase in anticipation of the irritation.
I am 3/4 introvert. I can see myself in 3 categories of introvert. Restrained ,thinking and social introvert. Thanks for letting us know the categories of an introvert.
introverts dont often make friends, they get adopted by extroverts.

I believe I am mixture of social and thinking, I remember in high school I would be so active when discussing with my friends (although I did like being alone every once in a while) but when I was in places where they weren't I really didn't say anything and was mostly just lost in my thoughts.
I have characteristics of all these 4 types...plus I practise umpteen times whenever I have to say even a sentence in a group, because I get slightly anxious at first but when I start speaking, it feels all fine. Kind of like inertia...And whenever I badly spoil some social conversation or argument, I regularly think and reflect on it and think of the possible ways or comebacks to handle it for the next few days. I just can't stop myself from self-introspection of such awkward situations in public.
Glad to know that there's a Social Introvert, I started to think that I was a fake introvert lol

I pray for dull situations. Dont like family gatherings. Just want to be left alone. Ive lied about having somewhere else to go at Christmas and stayed home with a tv dinner.
Dysfunctional family, i go to holiday dinner for the food but is just the 3 of us. I want to be alone and hate change. Moved into my house 8 years ago and have never communicated with my neighbors, not a hello or even a wave. Bought a split level house so we all have our own hangout zone.

honestly i relate to all the types except for the shy introvert, but since most of my friends are shy introverts, i don’t feel the same way as they do and i used to always question myself if i was truly an introvert or not because i was confused. this video helped me clear things up :)
As a Social Introvert, yes, many people had mistook me as an extrovert... I'll turn into a hyper and loudest person in my close group of friends... But when I get home, I would sleep 13 hours due to exhaustion and won't see them or text them for days before resurfacing again...

100% a restrained introvert, i didnt exactly know whether i was an introvert or not before this video because i thought introverts to be shy and stuff, im not exactly 'shy' but its been a long time since i've made friends, i prefer sitting alone in the classes that none of my few friends are in, i also enjoy doing things by myself like reading (and things that you are always by yourself), writing, and taking baths, i'll be taking tests/exams and i'll do them in my own time and then my teacher will be like "hurry up everyone" and rushing me and i get super stressed and i hate change, if i have my room arranged in a certain way, like my dresser is against the right wall of my bedroom and i come home from school and my mom moved it to the left side of my room, i'm not used to it and don't want to get used to it so i move it back myself, that also includes my desk, because im not used to it being in certain areas so i'll always keep it where its always been, my parents have been telling me to move it and have even moved it while im not around but i hate the change so i move it back
Same!
Interestingly, I fall into 3 of these introverted personality types ( Social, Thinking, and Reserved ) I have always been known to be a complex person, but deep down I know that I am not really. Maybe because I understand myself more clearly now. Thx for this clip, it was awesome !!

YES
Me too , I have at least one quality from all those 4 types
I am an anxious introvert. And yes, I do have social anxiety.
I have trouble making friends or socializing with other people, even with simple acts such as asking for something, asking for help, etc. My family does know I do have soical anxiety but the only advice they give me is to try and socialize with other people more. I did try soicalizing, but everytime I do, I kind of just think mostly about their reaction or what the topic is gonna turn out into, for example, if I were to say "hello" to a person, and they greet me back, that's where I kind of get lost in thought, I try to think of a decent topic. Otherwise it would be awkward. So I don't really like socializing because i think i'm awkward when it comes to conversations, or mostly just don't know what to say. I prefer to be alone, and I only have like 3 close friends. It's not like I hate being with people, I just don't know how to act when it comes to socializing.
Introverts are not shy. We don't socialise much not because we are shy. Most times it's because we find other people impossible to comprehend and thus difficult to relate with. We also know that most people don't 'get' us and it's very exhausting to try to explain...people's eyes tend to glaze over. We know this because even growing up, most of our family didn't get us either. It's not shyness...it's...'well the more you leave us alone, the happier we are'
Exactly! Some people are not just comfortable to relate with.
Signs You Might Be an Introvert👇
Need quiet to concentrate.
Are reflective.
Are self-aware.
Take time making decisions.
Feel comfortable being alone.
Don't like group work.
Prefer to write rather than talk.
Feel tired after being in a crowd.
i am 100% an introvert lol, but the reason why i like group project is because so i dont have to do all the work and im lazy HAHAH
I also like talking over writing, but just because it needs less thinking of how to say what I want to say and in combination with my fast (but more than just sometimes getting miced up on the details) thinking it flows better. If I write I have to stop more often to think about what to write than talking, and I love talking to myself to formulate an idea in words ir talking to someone to get them help with the details and mistakes
Yessss!! I would definetly would preder to write than talk, I don't like group work, because I am always the one that has to do everything and sometimes I actually like that because I am very creative. I am a Social Introvert tho!

The Social Introvert actually accurately defines my own personality , albeit before , As told by my classmates and other peeps that knew me but arent as close as my friends , i just turn into a totally different person when im not with my friends , like from a loud always laughing , always talking and full of energy to a complete 180 degree when left alone by their friends , silent , evasive and cold , it was their impression of me but in reality im not much of a conversation starter but i wont give you a cold shoulder if we talk , i actually managed to reworked those trait , after being told that whenever i acted that way , im always giving the impression of being unapproachable
I think I‘m a mix of all types, with thinking being the most prominent trait and anxious/shy the least prominent. I do enjoy social interactions with close friends, but if I meet new people, I prefer doing so either in one-on-one situations or being introduced into a group by friends. I have a hard time connecting with new-to-me people if I meet a bunch of them all at once and I prefer being forewarned at least 24 hours in advance when there‘s a social gathering of some sort. I recharge on alone-time that I love to spend reading or journalling or doing other hobbies you do alone. Being anxious about how I might be perceived by others was a phase I had in my teenage years but grew out of.
I’m a social introvert, I’m loud and I talk a lot but when I’m with friends/family for too long I become sleepy and irritated. I like spending time with my friends but I love my alone time.

Lol, I'm the opposite of the restrained introvert. When my friends "plan" anything it usually goes like this:
Friend - "Hey, anyone wanna come over to my house tomorrow?"
Me - "Ok, I might be there around noonish... Maybe later, idk. I'll probably be there eventually"
Then everyone else in the friend group usually does the same thing, unless they're busy that day
"Hey, do you want to go see that movie next week?"
"Sure, count me in."
*One week later*
"Hey, don't forget our movie night tomorrow."
"Sorry, something came up (not really). Can't come to the movies tomorrow. I know it's gonna be good. Have fun!"
😁😁😁
I also need to know things in advance before doing stuff
"Yes I am. I am an introvert.
I am not shy. I am a noticer.
I am not stuck up. I am a thinker.
I am not anti-social. I am an observer.
I am not boring. I am an artist, a lover, a
dreamer, a fighter, a seeker.
And if I open up to you, that means you are
very special to me."
💯
same.
same here 😭
exactly! 💜
Correct
I identify with 3 out of the 4 mentioned. Social, thinking & restrained.
I'm a anxious introvert. My mother (also an introvert) always said I was VERY introverted. I mean had very few close friends, I would hide when guests would come over, I would beg my parents so I would not to have to go to a party, and a whole lot more. My father (a huge extrovert) has always hated the thought of me being introverted and not like my younger extroverted party sister. He would talk so down on me being an introvert that I used to think something was wrong with me (pretty horrible things). At one point in grade school I overheard some people talking about extroverts and introverts and I learned why everyone was calling me an introvert. So I had always wondered what my mom meant by "VERY introverted daughter" ummm now I get it- In person I'm just about the most emotionless and shy person you'll ever meet.
Wish I could change but I can't so...
Them: Which introverts are you?
Me: yes.
I believe all introvert will say that but aren't you feel close to one type more than the other?
Me: So, have we decided on what we are? Currently we are just listed as ‘Introverts’. I want to spice up that title.
The three other personalities in my head: Wellllllllll. Yes and no.
1: I’m definitely restricted.
2: How dare you. I honestly say we are Thinking.
3: Well then I guess you don’t know what being an anxious introvert is like.
Me: . . . Imma just label this as ‘Social’ and call it a day.
*me too buddy*
Lol I'm all 4😅
I think I'm a social introvert
There are four types of introverts
Me: they're all me at different hours of day.
I feel like i'm a mixture of the 4 types two 😅
but same honestly
John Peter Martinez Tolio yup it depends on mood sometimes I am introvert , sometimes ambivert, and sometimes extrovert
Yup same
Feels like I'm more than 4 types
I'm a mix between the third and forth one for sure. i don't like going out, i find myself to be really anxious, shy, and awkward with people. even if they're friends. it's not like i don't have friends; i have two closest friends. i just prefer to stay at home than to hang out with them. i mean obviously i enjoy their company but I'm like this even with my family. I'm glad other people are like me because everyone always tells me how it's weird that don't want to enjoy my youth hanging out and making friends and instead wanting to stay in doing the same exact things i do everyday as in reading, watching videos, watching shows, listening to music.
I can see a bit of social and thinking introvert in me, which i think helped me explain myself clearly to my close friends over the years, to the point that they now understand that i do not leave early or miss a couple of parties because I am sick of them, but rather because i will get emotionally drained if i have too much social interaction without a brief pause in between.
As an introvert, I feel these "types" are more like "moments" in my life than 4 different characters. I felt these 4 different types in different moments in my life. Sometimes one more than others, but all four.
same!!
Yea that's true. But most of the time I'm type 1.
Yeees
Sameeee dudeee
Same! I'm mostly #2 and #4, but when I was younger, I was #3 because I also had social anxiety, and when I moved overseas and lost the social anxiety, I was #1 for a bit. Once I moved back home, though, the social anxiety didn't really return, but I still lost my desire to socialize quite as much.
Does anyone have the fear of bothering others when you want to talk to someone or feel why don't people talk to you?
Same
Same happens with me . I usually never begins a conversation because I think I might say something wrong or irrelevant and everyone will laugh at me or troll me .
Yes, once I talk, they will either reply 👍🏻 or K. I just feel like , maybe they are annoyed by me.
@@catseverywhere4854 I think the main reason they don't reply or just gives a simple reply would be that they couldn't understand you or they are those bitchy friends who are not interested in listening you . I can say this because even I have felt the same situation . I always have dealt with this and I am still dealing this .
@@illuminatidaylight8566 I have no one to talk about my problems, sometimes it’s about friends and socialising. At school I’m just too quiet , whenever the teacher ask me up to answer a question or read a paragraph. My heart would be beating fast, hands trembling or even sweating. Like I just can’t talk.
I’m definitely a thinking introvert. Thanks for the video.
I loved lock down during Covid! Also it was wonderful to see the Earth heal herself from all the pollution in big cities, it only took a month and skies began to clear.
1. Social introvert
2. Thinking introvert
3. Anxious introvert
4. Restrained
I'm definitely #4, I always want to be alone, with my cat, of course.
I feel like I mainly a Restrained introvert, like I need routine, organisation, etc, but I definitely have some Social introvertiness, to a degree of course.
I’m all of them mixed cuz I only got 1 friend I talk to in like months but other than that I’m all of them
I'm a mix of all
I'm mostly number 2 and a bit of number 3 :^.
I'm the thinking introvert 😀
Extroverts in 2020: Sad
3/4 Types of Introvert: Happy
Social Introvert: Torn between happy and sad
I'm social introvert but I'm glad 😅
Now that I think about it.......I tell people how sad I'm that I can't meet at school anymore......
But deep down I'm at peace and perfectly fine by not having to socialize. I'm not a social introvert but I do need people to interact with.

How about ambivert?
I like dis quarantine, I'm not exactly sure if I'm social or reserved. All I know is that I am both and Idc about quarantine. I like playing video games and being in my room listening to lofi hip-hop beats.
I think I'm a social introvert, I know how to interact with most kinds of people, but that doesn't I have to force myself to interact with everyone. I just interact with people who knows how to listen, support over judgement, and I do my very best to listen to them as well cuz I know how it feels to be unheard and getting misjudgement. So for my fellow introverts out there, being alone doesn't always equate to being sad, cuz not all people out there who have friends are happy. Keep safe and be happy. 😊❤
I would mainly describe myself as a social introvert with elements of thinking and restrained introvert. I do not have many friends, but the few I do have mean the world to me and I can talk to them for hours. I have also found that I do get physically tired if a social situation goes on for too long. But, I also enjoy deep thought and like understanding things. And, immediate activity or spontaneity don't usually sit very well with me. I have recently gotten into solo backwoods camping, and that is where I feel happiest and most relaxed.
My friend is DEFINITELY the social introvert. She likes to hangout with people a lot but she can’t hangout with them for too long or else she will get tired or upset, but she also has a lot of trust issues, so.

I related to each of the four. Even nervously chuckled as I began to feel validated in some of my responses or behaviors. This was so pleasant. What does it mean if I have each of the four in my everyday life?
I'm a mixture of social and anxious introvert,
Thanks for making this video
Glad to know there's such a thing as "social introvert" since people always assume I'm an extrovert because I'm not shy and I tend to make everyone feel comfortable, but I feel drained and emotionally tired after interacting with others. I *always* need time alone to recharge.
Same and I'm being comfortable only when I'm with my friends and family(just my family only and not include my other relatives) but still I'm not really kind of person who will say anything or everything to them
Same
I’m the same, especially after school.
I’m mostly a thinking introvert but I don’t mind being a social introvert at times. I like having nice conversations even with strangers sure I’m shy at first but I open up really quickly in a small talk conversation(s) with people
Same

yeah it's weird
I recognized myself in all four mentioned
@@timidb same,

Wow
Same here..I related to all of the types, so what kind of introvert does that make me??🤔
@@mentalhealthisimp THE INTROVERT G O D
I’m all four of these so I’m definitely an introvert ,I use to wonder when people pressured me or talked for a very long time why I felt physically exhausted now I know, my husband of 50 years was a full on extrovert but now he’s more introvert which looks odd for someone who loved being around lots of people ,I use to cringe when we had to go out with lots of different people all the time and it lead me to anxiety attacks which I had to take medication for being an introvert isn’t easy people think we are odd ,strange, weird or even a snob.
I always like watching these videos and have you just describe me perfectly tot the dot.
I’m the introvert of: I’m the shy kid in school. Don’t like new people that much. But if I’m with my good friends or family I’m a totally different person. So what introvert am I.
This is the same as me
Same as me too
I guess social introvert, coz you are totally different when you are with your close ones.
You are uncomfortable around people you don’t spend as much time with while people you know tend to make you loosen up since you are not uncomfortable.

Ah, introversion: The most misunderstood term in the world.
Yeah so true. One of the many seeds of stereotype.
i prefer being alone or with just 1 friend but when that friend meets his friend then we all 3,i am not comfortable with this I hate people gathering . i never visit any wedding or any party. i don't have any friend ,just 1 laptop and a smartphone I try to spend all my time on these .. it was a festival in our country people were busy in popping crackers i didn't like anything sitting with no work people with those work keep looking at me very useless way.

i am extremely private, yet i am very open telling things to people i like. i like very few people though and enjoy talking and hanging out with them, but i feel actual anger when people i do not like or want to talk to try to force conversation with me or come over and interrupt personal conversation with someone i do like. i am absolutely great at home by myself with no responsibilities and i CAN NOT stand having unexpected things dropped on me that i have to deal with without plenty of warning.
No. 5 - The introvert that hates humanity so much they are disgusted by the fact they are themselves human.
