I first learned about this from my dad, when we were talking about introverts. I described introverts as being antisocial and my dad said "No, it's asocial. Not antisocial." And then explained to me what being antisocial really meant. It was pretty cool to learn about honestly.
Interesting fact about me I have BPD but I also have subclinical features of ASPD (not that I'd be diagnosed with that since my country uses the ICD-11 which got rid of the unnecessary and confusing categorisation system for personality disorders) and I'm an ambivert
Just got kicked out of a group and I feel really sad because I can't communicate with them anymore. But watching your videos really makes me happy. Your calm voice really makes me feel better :)
It always peeved me when people use “anti-social” to refer to introverts because it is associated with bad people or people who do things that aren’t seen as acceptable or good. I’m glad you made this video. In calling me “antisocial” and not “asocial,” it’s pretty much baselessly accusing me of being a person who doesn’t respect people’s rights and causing crimes. It accuses me of being manipulative, lacking of self-awareness, heavily bigoted, and arrogant.
I agree as somebody that shares traits of being antisocial and never having indulged in drugs/alcohol and other substances or broken property of somebody else's, i felt extremely targeted. Everyone that knows even the slightest bit about me know that I would never vandalize their things or not return it to them in a timely manner. I have however felt no fear or dissatisfaction. I have also never felt happy over an achievement either. Rather it makes me feel like I need to get more because of no satisfaction. The point is that I agree with your statement.
I do for a fact have aspd, npd and cptsd and media don't help neither so called "empath advocate " and stuff ,people who label ,armchair diagnosed someone n stuff ..it never help anyone but harm. nobody choose to have personality disorders neither prolong childhood traumas. . Its mainly the reasons cluster b personality disorders can't get help in the first place.i don't blame you for your ignorance but you can research more and ask questions to learn. God can't people do better and learn more than blaming based on the media. Its basically blaming game at this point ,it would be nice that they don't share false information . We are just human beings..and some of us have brain that can't really function as a neurotypical.( Aspd, npd,bpd,ptsd..etc are all neurodivergent ) I have a Lack of empathy but I can do cognitive empathy. Nobody ask to have a lack of empathy,we just have to live with it. And to be honest I meet people with empathy that are literally assh0les and creeps
I can't speak for or against the accuracy in these descriptions of ASPD, but I love that you show it in a sympathetic light. They deal with so much crap from being dubbed psycho/sociopaths (and all the horrible tropes and stereotypes that come with it) when it's a personality disorder resulting from childhood trauma and they're trying to get by like any person.
It's not always caused by childhood trauma. Many ASPD patients have an innate underdevelopment of the prefrontal cortex, which renders them unable to feel empathy and numbs them to strong emotions.
i’m an introvert when i’m around extroverted, confident people yet when i’m around introverted, shy and seemingly insecure people, i feel like speaking up and taking the role as the boss (this usually occurs when doing group assignments). Anyone else like this?
Introverts really need alone time. They are high thinkers and and can easily get annoyed by the environment. More people around them makes them feel low in energy so they prefer only few close people.
I would say rather than an introvert being low energy. Most energy goes to thinking instead. Overthinking can be really draining and overstimulation is horrible
If I ever doubted that I was introvert, I never will again. Every point in this video about introversion describes exactly me and how I function. Also nice to know there is a clinical difference between antisocial and asocial - I've heard so many use them interchangeably. Thanks!
@@Mikescool444 Exactly. I'm the oldest brother and sibling and have two little sisters (twins), sometimes it's sad and horrifying to see my own traumas on them, but they turned out differently at the same time. It's weird, but strangely fascinating lol
@@Naynin each one of us is different, even if we have the same parents. Genetics, while systematic, creates random results. The rest depends on the enviroment, you grow up in. This enviroment isn´t static - even if the parents are the same, life changes all the time and requires us to adapt to it. There are also gender differences - women think differently from men. As a result, siblings may grow up in different enviroments, while seemingly living in exactly the same enviromental conditions.
I'm an antisocial extrovert. People often refer to me as an introvert, because I'm often alone. It sucks being misunderstood and being unable to communicate in healthy ways. I was raised with lots of corporal punishment and abuse. I'm doing my best
Maybe it eventually fades, but I figure that the deviation of the social norm does have its appeal(in the similar manner in which doing what one is told not to do can be tempting at times)
Yeah this is triggering to both introverts and antisocials When you're an introvert everyone calls you antisocial, and when you're actually antisocial like me everyone is always like: "it's okay to be an introvert" in a condescending tone everytime they see me isolating myself from others and i just sigh while thinking shit like: "why do you exist you dumbass"
And you are very unaware of what the term triggering means :| Triggering doesn't mean getting annoyed or angry but it means you are close to having a panic,or anxiety attack or even a stroke because of epilepsy.
I'm at this point proudly both introverted and anti-social. There was a point where I was Just introverted, but the pre-judgements of others leading to an inability to ever find that close knit group of friends has turned me anti-social. If people are convinced they don't need me in their life without ever having spoken to me then I see no reason to convince them otherwise because I wouldn't want someone that flippantly shallow in my life to begin with.
I'm an introvert. At 18, I still have no friends. It's not that I'm being picky or choosy, but I consider friendship as respect-- it should be earned, not just easily given like a giveaway. So far, no one has earned it yet. Yuhh, it's tough always being alone, just glad I'm getting by.
I'm 19, soon to be 20, and no friends. I appreciate my family though. Unfortunately, it's hard to interact with them while being 3.5 hours away studying at college. Some people here on campus are fairly nice, but there's such a disconnect in what I value in a person compared to someone else. I just want someone to talk with, sit next to comfortably, or play some video games with. I don't fit in with other people like me because they are always abnormally obsessed with something I find obnoxious (memes, weed/alcohol, a specific RUclipsr, a specific video game, ect). There's always something mentally lacking. Maybe I'm the same way, I don't know.
@@cricticalthinking4098 I feel the same way. Though I'm living with my family, it's sad to say they're never open with mental issues. I'm the last child, and it sucks having no one to tell my problems. They never really understood me, no one does, or atleast did. I do agree with the last part of what you've said. I just want to have someone who I'll be comfortable talking to. Like, I don't smoke, drink, and I don't even play games. Idk, I really feel like this is my fate and I just have to accept it. I don't wanna give in with peer pressure just so "I belong" to their group. I've tried finding friends, online and in person, internationally and locally. However, I'm still having a hard time finding someone. Even just one. Gosh.
@@joshuaheart8661 I'm the worst person to give advice on finding friends and handling mental issues, but hang in there. Don't beat your head against the wall too hard and fall into a deep depressive state because of it (been there). I personally feel like I'm fairly hopeless when it comes to making friends, so I'm investing my energy into other things that will benefit me. Inevitably, I have bad days, but that's just how it is I guess. Many influential people in history were considered intolerable and had no friends. Since my greatest desire is to be recognized intellectually, I sort of cling to the hope that someday I can accomplish something too. But that's me.
People keep saying that just because I'm an introvert it means I'm a shy and extremely socially awkward person and they also refer to me as anti social. I can now slap this video in their face
My dad had been telling me for a while that I was an introvert, but I kept on insisting I was ambivert. However, after watching this video, I think might actually be an introvert. Everything they said about introverts lines up with my behavior, personality, and thought-process. But, for extra confirmation, I'm going to watch a video comparing ambiverts to introverts.

This video is definitely an important topic that i'm glad you guys took a moment to explain. Given your own descriptions, which i find very well constructed, it's important to express that a core fundamental is the emotional attachment. An introvert, if anything, treats people like they were something to treasure, even if they find mentally difficult to be on a big crowd, those one or two friends are their world and will put their energy on them. An antisocial just doesn't have it in them to have that attachment. I don't wanna say they hate other human being, but as the party example, they will not put others in any consideration of them. I loved this video just by principle.
So uhh guess I'm antisocial. You're right thought, I don't really hate people I just have little to care about them. If your just doing your business, alright you do you 😗✌️
@@Anonymous-hx3pu same except in my case you don't earn that little empathy, loyalty and sincerity i got by being family, you earn it with your personality, actions and backstory. I firmly believe that biological and legal bonds don't mean shit, it's who you are that determines if you're an obstacle, a tool, an NPC, a friend or someone i respect
Antisocial behavior runs in my family, and as an introvert it was really hard to go and meet new people because I moved to a new place early on and only really had my immediate family as peers to learn from. By the time I was finally going out to meet new people I had basically already learned a lot of bad behavior but thought that it was 'normal' because of my low exposure to others and the frequency of it within my home. It took me an embarrassingly long time to even consider why I was struggling so hard to interact with people and form friendships, and it turned out that I had a literal stew of issues going on that all coagulated into a really awful mess of a human being. The anger is very real in the moment of an outburst but I definitely feel guilty and ashamed after the fact. It creates a really horrible feedback loop of insecurity about your self-worth as a human being leading you to feel alone and vulnerable in social interactions, which in turn makes acting in antisocial manners feel like it's empowering you to 'cheat' your way out of having to play on equal terms with the other people. Then you feel bad for acting that way after you realize that you hurt someone's feelings and wonder why you're so messed up and it slowly repeats itself over time. I don't like living like this. I want to have someone, anyone that I can keep close to me, but I know that eventually I'll turn on them and hurt them. Being alone is the only thing that feels safe.
I'm sorry that you had to grow up like that. Just know that many people hurt other people's feelings unintentionally to a varying amount. Apologizing and trying to learn is the best thing you can do, and you are definitely reflective enough to be able to do that. Although it's cliché: don't be afraid to make mistakes - most people are able to forgive them and will do so. If you spend time with other people, you can learn from them and grow from your interactions.
Ah, yes. We've all heard it. "Antisocial, Couch Potato, gaming/reading/phone addicted". No, my dear friend. These are just ways so I don't have to talk to you right now.
I am an introvert. Yet, I still wonder, at times, if a person is an introvert or simply dissatisfied, with a good portion of their life experiences, particularly, as the world moves towards a harsher, more competitive, more narcissistic place. I also wouldn’t be pressured at all, about anyone calling me antisocial. I know what they mean, even if they have the word wrong and what they often mean is that, I am wrong for not being an extrovert and completely giving of myself. They seek to abnormalize me being comfortable in my own skin and want to make me feel like I need fixing. That is often so, in this current dynamic, where people are being forced to return to the workplace, under the idea of “collaboration”. Also, if extroverts don’t care for introverts, I’m pretty sure they can find plenty of extroverts to be with.
Just in case someone is not up to date with new terms for mental illnesses; ASDP (antisocial personality disorder) is a diagnosis used for people who show signs of psychopathic, narcissistic or sociopathic behaviours.
narcissism has its own diagnosis, NPD. you don't need NPD to have ASPD. otherwise, yeah what most people call psychopathy or sociopathy are now classed under ASPD. that being said, it is possible for comorbidities to occur (having both NPD and ASPD, or NPD with ASPD traits, or vice versa).
As an introvert myself, have a theory about #3. People who are depressed and repeatedly have negative thoughts tend to have a history of child abuse. Lack of social interaction is another known result of child abuse. I suspect a good number of introverts are introverts as a result or nurture instead of nature. When I was a small child child, I could be described as an extrovert until I grew up. My answer to #3 is that kids who are abused are likely to become introverts and depressed at the same time.
Yep, definitely. I was left alone since I was a toddler. This definitely counts as child abuse. So I was so often alone in my childhood that I got used to it, and too much social interactions in a day can be draining to me.
As someone who lacked friends throughout a large part of childhood I used friendship as a way to validate myself. I started making bonds with tons of people because it made me feel important. So maybe it can also be due to isolation and then sudden bursts in attention.
That explains why I'm an introvert. I was abused physically and verbally as a child, still got cigarette burns on the back of my head that my biological father caused. I only speak around my closest friends which is still small but we enjoy playing games like Destiny 2 together. The two newest members of my friend group were introduced to me back in 2022 during a raid run
Your line of thought makes sense but I would add that it definitely doesn't have to be child abuse. I think it can just as easily be due repeated negative interactions with other children of the person's age range (and not even physically harmful, just if they hit emotionally in just the wrong way), even if that person's home life and family are great.
I think it's correct in a way, but also incorrect. I'm also an introvert, and I believe that introverted feelings stem from lacking in some way socially, and looking down on yourself for that. This can come from child abuse, but can stem from other things as well. If you're bullied in school, you tend to keep to yourself and not try to grab attention from others that might also bully you. Or perhaps you fear being looked down upon or things changing, so you keep to yourself so as not to disrupt anything.
We need more videos like this, so many notions may seem close but this is really not the case, your videos are showing the difference in an effective fun and simple way 😊
Can we get a video on of the difference between trauma and PTSD? I would love to see one as I am worried why I have breakdowns when I hear extremely loud sounds. Also a video explaining the true meaning of phobias. It's alright if you don't notice this comment overall this video was easy to understand. I'm an introvert too. New sub
I'm also an introvert, and at work I do like social interactions with my colleagues if the group is not too big. But I tend to blame myself for not socializing more (or being asocial at times) because I miss out opportunities to hang out with colleagues outside of work to get to know them better... it's like they plan to hang out and I didn't know they did until it already happened. I am also kinda shy to take the initiative, but I do hope it comes with time. So for me it has been hard to make friends at work.
@@Anonymous-hx3pu Yeah. I do feel blessed with the friends that I do have 😄 It's just that the past 1.5 years because of restrictions and all that, I see my friends way less IRL than my colleagues. But I shall not force myself indeed. I'm very grateful to have good colleagues, and not work from home 😊
I have that happening with my dads side of my family. They say they want to see me and spend time with me but they rarely call and visit me themselves. I always went to them IF they bothered to tell me when something was going on. Its to the point they ask if "im just not gonna show" this time or what? The only reason ive missed events is if im sick like recently with covid and other personal matters, like a loved one passing. None of them knew what was happening excpet my grandma bc they never talk to me
They aren't real friends if they dont take notice of your existence. I may work, i may try to do my best unseen, but i am always the one being watched by a manager. Aside the possibility of looking out for me, he's making sure i don't hide (like ... how the heck am i hiding? Im on camera dude!)
We might have some debunking myths video here: ruclips.net/user/results?search_query=debunking+mental+illness+psyhc2go+ But we can see if we can put one together. Great suggestion! Thanks!
It’s pretty hard for me to accept the fact that I’m an introvert after experiencing a lot of negativity from both family and people having made me believe that something was wrong with me for being unable to be as social as others. So I think that’s where the depression comes from in most introverts, because there’s a high chance that no one is going to explain to an introvert the way their mind works, and so we become lost in this loud world constantly thinking “wtf is wrong with me. why am I like this and not like the others.”
I used to feel like this, until I got to live on my own, LC with my family, never felt so free, people who don't respect you for who you are are just ignorant, especially the older generations, you don't have to please them to be happy, it will only drain you, you are perfectly normal, there is nothing wrong with not wanting to be social all the time, people are different and unfortunately some other people can't understand that, that usually cames from the same people with homophobics, sexists, mysoginistic views.
@@Anonymous-hx3pu I believe it’s a natural response for humans to try and fit in, and being different can cause someone to experience loneliness when in reality, it’s a sign of authenticity and strength. Personally, I’m still walking on my journey towards betterment so all is good
You will never be able to fit in tbh. I thjnk once h can get away from ur toxic family’s NS live on ur own you will realize they were better off out of your life
Since I am an introvert myself, it does make me feel weird that people can confuse it with ASPD 😐 How can there be not seen a difference between people who are comfortable in a small circle, and people, who might be not considereate towards others or not value attachment a lot? Maybe someone can enlighten me: I know there are statistically more extroverts than introverts. But how come that many people do not understand that some people are more calm than others? I really want to understand why being calm in a group often is understood as rejection by extroverts. Often, if they don't know me, they treat me like I have a disease. It was usually like that in high school, I was quite a sad teenager like that ._. Can a video be made on that topic?
I would guess it's because they are do not have the knowledge about introverts like us yet or antisocial people either to know what it is. I learned about antisocial personality disorder last year and realized a lot of people use the term wrong. If they get educated maybe they can see us through different lenses and understand better.
that's because the parents are not teching their kids what introvert and extrovert mean, and since the introverts are lower in numbers, (expecially in social activities like school) the ext. people just assume that the int. people are messed up by default.
@@themoveman6921 unfortunately some old folks refuse to even listen to an explanation, my uncle for example is extremelly ignorant, you can try for hours to try to change his mind but he never budges
To be honest a lot of this is relatively new and so it’s gonna be a while before the general populace catches up with updated psychology terms and such
I've been called antisocial twice for basically not talking to almost anyone or doing what the others want. I didn't know what it meant exactly, but now I do, so thank you for that
Yeah this really helped me understand it better because, I always thought of my self of an antisocial person, but now I have watched this I know now I should refer to myself as a introvert, and yes your right some introverts are introverts because of childhood trauma, when I was 4-6 my dad abused my mom and some times almost in till death, my mom got on drugs and I had to live with her at a cheap hotel for 3 years, and I had to live with my dad that was mentally abusive to me for years, so thats kinda had an affect on my life, sense my dad would yell at me I kinda have social anxiety, and because I grew but the last years of my child hood and all my teenage hood without my mom, I grew depression, your videos kinda help me understand my self more, so thank you!
I would even say asocial and introverted are two different things :/ Asocial being a lack of caring about socialising at all. No desire to be social, but not necessarily antisocial. Introvert being someone who has a lower tolerance for more time spent socialising. I don’t think it means you dislike it when you *are* socialising, you just want more time to yourself than an extroverted person..? Yes? No?
A topic that I find really interesting and would like for you to talk about is how people are affected by growing up in a broken family, how the lack of a role model affects their personality development and social skills and if there is any connection to someone growing up to be an introvert or an extravert. I have been wondering about these things lately since I have grown up without a proper male role model and I feel like it has left me with deeper scars than I would like to admit, making it really hard to thrive in certain aspects of a normal life. Pretty sure I`m not the only one wondering about these things and your videos do make a really good job explaining simply all these different topics. Diving head deep into studies and papers about this would probably be a bit overwhelming.
I can honestly say that I have been called anti social a lot. Even though I am highly empathic toward others and can develop close ties with people. Just because my personality is introverted dose not necessarily mean I'm anti social. I am just very selective when it comes to developing friendships.
I’ve had always been an introvert, both of the thinking and social variety. I have struggled (and still have struggles) with my social skills, so when I was a kid, I would have a hard time interacting with others because of having cerebral palsy and being different. I was subsequently diagnosed with ADHD, anxiety, and persistent depressive disorder as I got older. It’s been a very long and challenging, and sometimes painful process to learn better social skills. I am planning on going to get a professional evaluation for autism spectrum disorder at some point.
Guess found out I’m antisocial introvert after watching this video. This makes me realize the time I was in a fight with my closest friend. And all of my behavior was in their point of view was “aggressive”. But the thing is I was unable to express how I feel; disappointment and sadness. But instead, violence and a passive aggressive behavior to let out of my emotions. And my other friends stopped me from hurting myself or playing with sharp blade (no, I did bring boxcutter for good reason; cut papers). And how my anger develops more and more until I want to do more things that is “too far” and beyond what a “normal” student should do. And how introvert really value the word “friendship”, and I, who often feels different from others but can feel at ease with two closest friends. And when I feel left out i can’t express how I’m sad but instead being anger of making feel me felt sad but can’t express it out. I’m still jealous of how they can cry and have people comfort while Im standing alone with all eyes on me. Unable to cry, but deep inside I want to scream out load and clear. -p.s I don’t know wether or not we’re good……
I always thought growing up that I didn’t have enough friends because I looked at extroverts with large friend groups and would wonder if there was just something wrong with me. Now I realize that they might have had a large friend group but they often didn’t have the same connection that I had/have with my friends. They also didn’t tend to stay friends often going their separate ways over disagreements or just life pulling them in different directions. Yet here I am with my friends I’ve known for most of my life and I can’t help but be grateful.
As far as I can remember I have been an introvert and I'm pretty comfortable with that lifestyle. I'll admit I did not know the difference between that and Anti-social (referring to myself as such even in the past, and I'm far from it way too self aware ..... life would be easier sometimes if I was maybe xD) I do find it odd that I was told by my parents that as a child I was more extroverted infact .... I'm not sure if that was just a facade I put up or my introversion just developed through time.
I'm diagnosed AsPD (for eons now) and with pasing years I'm becoming more and more detached from anything relared to voluntary social interactions. I dont feel anxious to engage with people but I prefer being alone, constant anger and dysphoria are pretty shit to live with.
First: I love how you have different anime/cartoon/game characters in your videos, it’s like cute little Easter eggs! Second: I am very interested in human psychology and I think this is the first time I’ve heard of Asocial and that Antisocial wasn’t what I thought it meant.
Thank you for this! I was called anti-social when a co-worker tried to set me up on a date without asking me how I felt about going out with someone I was just introduced to. Makes me glad I don't work there anymore...
I think that there's another thing missing in the common understanding of being antisocial: not everyone that displays antisocial behavior lacks something! For instance, someone in an acute depressive phase can either be lethargic or be absolutely reckless. Moreover, he or she may no longer display empathy, because the person is currently even unable to care for themselves! More commonly, I think that people just reach their breaking point after being dealt a bad hand in life and just get tired to play along... Obviously, there are people who lack empathy by default, and some even lack fear, disgust, and shame... However, these cases are far rarer. Personally, I've met two people I would consider psychopaths and one who was officially diagnosed but I got my doubts about it. They were all very interesting people to be around and fun to hang out with. They didn't always choose violence or crime, but their moral compass was somewhat lackluster... The person I think was misdiagnosed actually seems to care about things other than himself, and is a quite friendly and outgoing person, but lacks a sort of agreeableness. It's impossible to peer pressure him into something he doesn't believe in/wants and he won't change his beliefs just to appease others. In contrast, one of those that I consider a psychopath was incredibly good at acting to become exactly the person you want to be around (a true social chameleon, but absolutely ruthless underneath her mask). The other one didn't bother whatsoever and clearly had the lowest level of agreeableness. However, he was more of an antihero, than evil incarnate. He did lack empathy, fear, disgust, and shame though... (and he didn't even try to hide it)
Jordan Peterson Explained Emotional and Psychological breakdown alongside Genetic Susceptibilities. Basically, in majorly traumatic phases of an individuals life, the individual may become psychologically distraught, and thus seek for a form of compensation( Perhaps through Drinking Alcohol, or irrationally Risky Behavior). This is the point where genetic susceptibility comes in within the variations of the population. Certain individuals may be more susceptible to certain vices, such as alcohol or drugs, as a result of past traumatic experiences, or genetic factors. I think I met people like that too and it’s easy to avoid them jsut don’t interact or cater to their needs and they eventually just seek out people pleasers to use and abuse
@@markigirl2757 That's how to play it safe and for the most part it works. If you set strict boundaries, they'll test them and if you don't give in, they are likely to run off in frustration. Some even respect it when you're a person of your word and don't fall for simple mind games. The irony is that every bad person is looking for an easy victim, but many also despise them, which can result in respecting those that are not like this...
I think the thing about introverts is that we tend to overthink (not all). Many introverts (again, not all) get social anxiety so they choose to interact with people they are familiar and comfortable with to avoid the anxiety. However the overthinking and anxiety doesn't just stop there. They may also overthink in general, which makes them more likely to have other mental disorders like depression.
Whoa I thought I was an introvert until I passed every antisocial quality to perfection, especially the antagonistic thing, I like being *the* bad guy and I often write stories from villain pov
So long story short: I'm an introvert with narcissistic and antisocial traits/tendencies, but I'm not nearly bad enough to be a real narcissist or antisocial. I was initially an extrovert until slight childhood trauma. Understood.
That's why I don't like dealing with extroverts Because they are the root causes of diseases and Viruses That spread it throughout human history, But of course they're never gonna talk about that, Because they find it very difficult to stay Alone, even for the short-term.
I’ve always considered myself as ambivert, but after this video I’m thinking I might be introverted. Can you please do a video on the difference between ambivert and introvert? Thank you 😊
Unfortunately all parents act like that, the wording may be different but they're all doing the same shit, "why aren't you spending time with me?" "Ugh get out of my face I'm tired of you" "why do you shut yourself off from me?"
I’m sending this to my friend she says she’s antisocial and has “social anxiety” yet she is friends with literally like the whole school and she talks and know everyone, the teachers even likes her and she is so fucking social but she is one of those people who try to be cool and say “I’m depressed” or just self diagnose themselves with a mental illness that sounds I guess “cool” to them but they don’t even know what it means or feels like she acts all sad and then like 2 seconds later she is like laughing so hard she’s crying like-?
You're really young--and so is your friend. She will most likely outgrow her need for constant attention. And you will not be bothered by ppl like that as you mature as well. ❤

Agree. Hate being called an introvert, or shy, when I actively dislike people as a whole, and would just rather not be bothered by anyone.
Ironically, in german, "Antisozial" and "Asozial" have the exact opposite meanings
Well seem like I’m already an introvert from the start =))))) (I was an introvert when I was 6 until now. Man it’s been 9 years for me now)
I can't speak for or against the accuracy in these descriptions of ASPD, but I love that you show it in a sympathetic light. They deal with so much crap from being dubbed psycho/sociopaths (and all the horrible tropes and stereotypes that come with it) when it's a personality disorder resulting from childhood trauma and they're trying to get by like any person.
as someone with ASPD, thanks.

This video actually helped me solve a personal debate if I truly was an introvert or not. I thank you greatly

True. Depends a lot on their age and if theres a huge gap between the siblings
@@Naynin definitely. We all know memes like “middle child vs youngest and oldest” and similar, so it definitely can apply to a more toxic environment.

Introverts prefer social interaction in smaller increments. Anti-socials exhibit behavior that makes people not want to be around them.

You're not anti-social, you're asocial -- you would be anti-social if you were actively trying to harm others, not just avoiding them!
Ahhh so I'm asocial! Thank you for explaining the difference! I'm glad I can understand myself a bit more now!

Inevitably, I have bad days, but that's just how it is I guess.
Many influential people in history were considered intolerable and had no friends. Since my greatest desire is to be recognized intellectually, I sort of cling to the hope that someday I can accomplish something too. But that's me.

I guess that confirms I'm antisocial, outside of my family everyone is either an asset or a liability to me.
So uhh guess I'm antisocial. You're right thought, I don't really hate people I just have little to care about them.
If your just doing your business, alright you do you 😗✌️
Think I may be antisocial too, I realized that sometimes I fake an emotion to get a specific result.
I love this art style and the posing. its so lively
I personally take antisocial as a compliment.
You've taught me a lot with this one video, thank you so much!
In regards to one person and i, i didn't know these things in full..
Your voice is so beautiful and calming.
Just in case someone is not up to date with new terms for mental illnesses; ASDP (antisocial personality disorder) is a diagnosis used for people who show signs of psychopathic, narcissistic or sociopathic behaviours.
Yikes😵💫
So that's over half of Twitter then.
As a sociopath i confirm that this is true
narcissism has its own diagnosis, NPD. you don't need NPD to have ASPD. otherwise, yeah what most people call psychopathy or sociopathy are now classed under ASPD. that being said, it is possible for comorbidities to occur (having both NPD and ASPD, or NPD with ASPD traits, or vice versa).
@@1Skorpia Why "yikes"?

I have that happening with my dads side of my family. They say they want to see me and spend time with me but they rarely call and visit me themselves.
Why would you want to be like the others though? I honestly never got the whole "fitting in" thing.

How can there be not seen a difference between people who are comfortable in a small circle, and people, who might be not considereate towards others or not value attachment a lot?

I would even say asocial and introverted are two different things :/
Asocial being a lack of caring about socialising at all. No desire to be social, but not necessarily antisocial.
Introvert being someone who has a lower tolerance for more time spent socialising. I don’t think it means you dislike it when you *are* socialising, you just want more time to yourself than an extroverted person..?
Yes? No?
You're right.
Thank you for explaining.
I'm an introvert but my extroverted friends keep telling me that I'm antisocial- and I tell them that's not what it means.

I hate how a lot of people say that "introverts" and "asocial" people have "a history of abuse", a lot of them don't
4:54 this video did help me, since iy described how am i, my thought process, loneliness and value of friendship.
So i'll give this video a like.
As far as I can remember I have been an introvert and I'm pretty comfortable with that lifestyle. I'll admit I did not know the difference between that and Anti-social (referring to myself as such even in the past, and I'm far from it way too self aware ..... life would be easier sometimes if I was maybe xD)
I do find it odd that I was told by my parents that as a child I was more extroverted infact .... I'm not sure if that was just a facade I put up or my introversion just developed through time.
the animation just keeps getting better, fellow introvert here
Glad you love this style!

I'm diagnosed AsPD (for eons now) and with pasing years I'm becoming more and more detached from anything relared to voluntary social interactions.
I dont feel anxious to engage with people but I prefer being alone, constant anger and dysphoria are pretty shit to live with.
Thank you for explaining this so well 😊
First: I love how you have different anime/cartoon/game characters in your videos, it’s like cute little Easter eggs! Second: I am very interested in human psychology and I think this is the first time I’ve heard of Asocial and that Antisocial wasn’t what I thought it meant.
2:40 mlp reference go brrrrrrrrrrrr genuinely makes me happy
Introvert means sitting quiet and antisocial means acting against the society and doing what the society doesn't like.
Thank you for this! I was called anti-social when a co-worker tried to set me up on a date without asking me how I felt about going out with someone I was just introduced to.
Makes me glad I don't work there anymore...
this video helped me realize that i need to self love more than ever. thank you
everything in this video about the Introvert side is me to a tea
so thank you for helping me know this
I think that there's another thing missing in the common understanding of being antisocial: not everyone that displays antisocial behavior lacks something!
If you want the link to the RUclips video where I saw this, please comment and request for it ; I would gladly appreciate if you liked my comment, thank you.
and judging from your username, do you play Fortnite, If so what server region do you play in ?.
@@moderneinstein2644 I liked your explanation. I find it sad that they find Peterson _too controversial_ and started deleting interviews, etc.
I think I met people like that too and it’s easy to avoid them jsut don’t interact or cater to their needs and they eventually just seek out people pleasers to use and abuse
@@moderneinstein2644 I don't play Fortnite. The profile picture is from The Witcher 3 Hearts of Stone expansion.
The animation style is really cute!
As someone who is antisocial and an extrovert thank you for making this!
the video is one of the most correct video on introverts
People jinx these two very often. Really happy with the presentation! The animation was so accurate and clean! Love you Psych2Go ✨
Whoa I thought I was an introvert until I passed every antisocial quality to perfection, especially the antagonistic thing, I like being *the* bad guy and I often write stories from villain pov

So long story short: I'm an introvert with narcissistic and antisocial traits/tendencies, but I'm not nearly bad enough to be a real narcissist or antisocial. I was initially an extrovert until slight childhood trauma. Understood.
Extroverts don't shut up long enough to undersand and enjoy an introverts perspective lol
Thank you 😊
im so tired of my parents calling me antisocial its so annoying
Show them this video
Unfortunately all parents act like that, the wording may be different but they're all doing the same shit, "why aren't you spending time with me?" "Ugh get out of my face I'm tired of you" "why do you shut yourself off from me?"
Same here bud

1:28 Hello, W.D Gaster.
Hey could you also do a video about the difference between outgoing and social?
Love your work and your content ✨💜💜💜
I’m sending this to my friend she says she’s antisocial and has “social anxiety” yet she is friends with literally like the whole school and she talks and know everyone, the teachers even likes her and she is so fucking social but she is one of those people who try to be cool and say “I’m depressed” or just self diagnose themselves with a mental illness that sounds I guess “cool” to them but they don’t even know what it means or feels like she acts all sad and then like 2 seconds later she is like laughing so hard she’s crying like-?
yeah, a lot of people are like that at my school as well, kinda annoying.
that’s so annoying dude. people like that suck
Isn't that like for attention ..
You're really young--and so is your friend. She will most likely outgrow her need for constant attention. And you will not be bothered by ppl like that as you mature as well. ❤
@@Aslamxsha yeah pretty much, it’s so annoying

OMG 2 YEARS LATER AND I FINALLY SEE IT!! Thanks for pointing it out, i love tbhk
love the content so much keep it up :)
there once was a time when I myself confused the two, which is weird considering I am an introvert myself. I have friends, I like my friends, and I can be very open to them (maybe too open at times, lol), which I guess is the biggest difference between me and an anti-social.
I'm not sure if I've been antisocial or asocial my entire life, so this video helped a bit at understanding the differences!
Thank you so much.
