6 cake pops from the above recipe link
130 grams white chocolate
15 grams copha / vegetable shortening
crisco vegetable shortening to decorate
gold mica powder or gold luster dust
gold americolour gel food colour

Thank you for this demo, my cake pops tuned out very nice and shiny..... the customer loved them.... thank you.
If you want shine, make a thin paste of the lustre dust & vodka. Paint on as usual. Less used, too.
Hey melmicsim, thank you so much for the tip! xx
melmicsim i didn’t think you could do the luster dust and vodka on chocolate? Fondant yes because it will dry but not chocolate. Don’t think your info is correct.
I have a question. How do you store decorated cake pops with gold? I want to make a big batch of it in advance. Thank you for answering, it would be a great help 😊
Beautiful cake pops
Love them...so nice
When covering them with wrappers, does the gold rub off?
??? I want to know as well
Love it and it would be just like the golden snitch if you gave it wings
+Gale of Games ooohh yes! that would be a really easy way to make snitch cake pops. good thinking ;)
Thanks ☺
I love... CAKE POPS!!!
Hey @cakedragon, apologies for the late response! Here's a link to the mica powders. Its an australian website from the store where I baught mine from. They are the very last 3 on that page. Hope that helps! :

Rosie's Dessert Spot Hi Rosie, it's Carol from Creative Cake Decorating in Australia! Many thanks for showcasing my Gold Diamonds, your tutorial is lovely! I just wanted to confirm with you that the Gold Diamonds is in fact 100% edible. All of the Creative lustres are edible, with the exception of the Metallic range of course. None of my lustres contain fillers to bulk them up, customers are purchasing pure colour, hence the superior coverage and need for smaller amounts only. Thank you again Rosie :)
Hi Carol, thank you for letting me know! That is really great news. I am quickly running out of the gold diamond, thankfully the Melbourne Cake Bake and Sweets show is just around the corner ;) Will your products will available there again? I need my next fix haha
I will add an annotation onto the video to let people know it's 100% edible as well.
+Taelor Packer Is this product offered to be shipped to the United States?
Rosie's Dessert Spot Is the dust edible because I heard some dust isn't recommended for you to eat
Can u teach me how to clean the brush after using?
thanks for the tutorial. could you put a link for the mica gold powder?
Amazing! Could you use coconut oil instead of shortening ? Similar tecture and would add a coconutty taste yummm lol...
Lol thats a good question! I was actually thinking about that myself after I made this video. Honestly, I reckon you could. I mean you're only applying a really fine film so temperature wouldn't be an issue and its basically the same thing as copha and almost the same thing as crisco shortening. I would give it a go ;)
I tried with the coconut oil and I found that the cake pops would “sweat” out beads of oil after the candy melts were hardened
Beautiful!
Great video!! Very helpful
wow..!this is really amazing
+vin bulent thanks so much Vin! xx
Nice cakeeeeeeee
Why does my cake pop condense? And when applying luster dust is it normal that it comes off on hands? One more question🙈 why is vegetable oil used in chocolate?
Oh, so it is the flow coat that stops the chocolate from seizing. Thank you for that tip. I can't seem to find it at the supply store where I go though. Any other name for flow coat?
Regina Dizon hmm it also goes by the name of oil candy colour if that helps? and it's made by Americolour. They sell it on ebay but I imagine you would probably rather have it on hand asap.
What color of flocoat did you use? I see it in clear & gold which is about 4 times more expensive. For those that have problems beyond this with their chocolate seizing up paramount crystals can also be added in place of the shortening.
it looks amazing
+B Harleen thank you! x
so yummmmmm
+Alex Larkin thank you ;)
Lindo!!
Yum 😋 rosie
thanks lovely!
Your so AMAZING and inspiring💝
Thank you for the beautiful comment Pammy Kaur :) that's so sweet
Rosie's Dessert Spot awwh no problem you really are💝
What did you add with the white chocolate.
Thanks for sharing! :)
absolutely beautiful! does the gold get on your hands afterwards?
+mrsovwatson thank you! haha yea it does.. But it comes off pretty easily x)
Can I just mix gold dust into chicolate?
Hi.What kind of chocolate you have used for this? Can you put name of the chocolate. Thanks
can I use butter instead of vegetable shortening?
Hiii what is flow coat s explain

+Khalilah Williams thank you!
I didn’t even mole there was anything like that good powder you were using. I only knew of glitter and luster dust. Where do we get this mica at?
Hi hun, you can buy the edible gold powders from Merryday Cakes or online :)
Can I use this on a buttercream cake?
Does the crisco make the luster dust dry?
Hi Rosie. What kind of chocolate brand did you use? I use Callebaut chocolate, but it is pretty thick when they melted. Any tips how to make melted chocolate a lil bit runny?
Thanks in advance.
Use crisco shortening or a small amount of oil that does not contain water
hi Rosie i was watching your gold cake pops video. what was it thst you usr to keep the chocolate from seizing up. couldn't understand what uou were saying.
Hi Sandra, I used coconut oil melted down, or vegetable oil does the trick as well.
Awesome video.Where did you purchase the gold mica powder? Did I miss it? I do imagine different manufacturers would yield different results.
Hey Alexandria's Lashes, I bought mine at a cake expo but here's a link (its an australian product, but they may ship worldwide): creativecakedecorating.com.au/shoptag/pearllustres
Is this food gold?
watched video, want to make by myself, thanks your share
Hi! What would you recommend to do when your chocolate is slightly wet from being in the fridge and leaves uneven gold patches from the dust
Hi Annam, it sounds like condensation is reaching the cake pops. This can be stopped by keeping the cake pops in a air tight container :)
Bonjour madame vous pouvez me dire vous avez ajouté Quoi avec le chocolat avant le faire fandre s'il vous plaît 😘😘😘
May you tell me what color are both the bottles you used I’m trying to order them I know one is americolor gold what is the other one
Hi Geraldine, this was a long long time ago, I hope they still make it. The 2nd luster dust was by Creative Cake Decorating Australia. They have a diamond gold version and a champagne gold
How did you tie the bows?
what did u put so it would stick
Hello, Does Flo-Coat have a bad aftertaste? I Heard that before not sure how true it is though
Alexia of Divine Delectables she literly said for the paint edible but your body won't digest it
then golden glider is falling off
Can this be done on candy apples?
yes
is cool
+Luz Madera thank you!!
can I do it with the highlighter in gold?
Hi +Yorleidy torrisi, I don't know if we have this product in Australia. I know dusts will definitely work, but I haven't tried a highlighter (I'm guessing this is a cake decorating tool?)
they look so pretty & delicious but one question, after eating them, when you poop does your poop have gold sparkles in em😂😂 just curious
Izzy Ramirez lol
Adrienne Scarborough gross
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Izzy Ramirez 🤣🤣🤣🤣funny! Great question! Lol!
Only one way to find out...
does Lister dust or that metallic powder you are using... does it have any distinct taste to it??
luster***
Hi Leah, not that I have noticed and I have eaten lots of it in my time haha.
when I do the pops it falls down while dipping in the chocolate. what could be the reason
VARADHARAJAN S once you insert the sticks, give it time to dry so it acts as a glue.
You can let it sit out or pop it in the fridge for 2-3 minutes.
Hope this helps!
can we use ivory color instead of americolor gold??
+nancy beshara Yes, that should work. It will work better against Ivory than it would white.
Can I use this method on chocolate covered strawberries??
hi Jennifer, yes you can :)
Hi. Which luster dust gold was the one you used?
nice pops.i will try .
Can you make lip stick
+Lovely Eyes lip stick cake pops? I can definitely give it a try :) thanks for the suggestion.
is it ok to put gold powder in a royal icing?
Hi, yes you can. If you mean liquid royal icing made with egg white and icing sugar (here in Australia for some reason they refer to Fondant as royal icing as well) then it will develop the colour of the gold powder but it will not glisten gold like these cake pops. you would need to add that on after the royal icing has dried completely :)
can we eat that?
+Allison Lee Felipe yes you can :)
Hey I'm new to your channel and I just subscribed and I Love your videos I would love to be a Famous Baker just like you Oh and I'm 17
Welcome hun, thanks so much for subscribing and for the lovely comment :) if you need any pointers on starting a channel, send me an e-mail (rosiesdessertspot@gmail.com) , I'd be more than happy to share what I have learned along the way! xx
Instead of vodka, we can use white rum
Hi Kalpana, as long as there is a pretty high alcohol content, then it should work :)
Hi I am from New Delhi,India....what is the name of this dust,if I wanna buy this what I need to say to the vendor....any particular company manufacture this ?
shobhitkoli koli say gold dust it is available in market
shobhitkoli koli it's called luster dust
Do you know of another link to where this can be purchased in the US? Thanks in advance!
Colleen Peck hmm not that I know of to be honest. I know the lady called it Mica Powder, although I think in America the equivalent would be disco dust. Have you heard of this? I know it's not available in Australia but that would be the next closest thing, or possibly the same thing.
Thank you, yes I know what Disco Dust is and we can get that here. It does look a little different to me than the Mica Powder. Maybe the glitter seems like it's not as finely ground as the Mica. :)
Colleen Peck Disco dust is inedible plastic craft glitter an not for use on food. It's NOT FDA approved. If something is going to be used on food, then it needs to be edible.
Rosie's Dessert Spot No, disco dust is inedible plastic craft glitter. It's not for use on food and is not approved by our food oversight agency, the FDA, here in America--likely the reason it's not available in Australia.
thanks for the heads up BlakesCakesCLE
you can make harry potter golden snitch cake pops w these lmao
+yung mami yea you totally could! Just add on some wings and you're sweet x)
How do you store your cake pops?
