  • Watch to hear about my ERA Experience! Although I did the ERA test before, I decided to do it again just in case something in my uterus has changed after birth! Here are some tips if this is your first time having the test done:
    1) Take pain medication beforehand if you feel you need to, I did not take any for either test. My RE also does not provide valium like some clinics do.
    2) Expect some spotting and cramping after your biopsy.
    3) My RE uses a clinic which requires 2 samples of your uterine tissue, some clinics only require one sample, if they are able to gather the information they need from your first sample.
    4) The cost of the ERA varies but the lab my clinic uses charges $750-$800 for the first sample and $250-$350 if they have to test the second sample. Plus, my RE charged $300 to do the biopsies.
    5) You will prepare for the ERA test as if you are preparing for transfer, so that can mean taking a form of estrogen (for me it was Estradiol) and Progesterone (for me it was PIO.) This can be referred to as a "Mock Cycle"

    It’s so crazy to hear that some women think it wasn’t that bad. That mess hurt!! No kidding I was like hmm ok then that snip hit and I legit cried because I’m like I’m going through all this and I pray to God it’s worth it. Turns out I was pre-receptive and my transfer was successful so 🤷🏾‍♀️ lol still hurt tho

    My first transfer failed and my doctor mentioned this to me. He didn’t say that I HAD to do it he just said that it was an option. I was all for it until I’m hearing how painful it is now I’m scared and feel like backing out 😔

    That TMI was nice to see. When I got my era done I didn't get a chance to see it but I was curious so that TMI was very interesting. Thanks for sharing!!

    Okay I took Valium Vicodin and ibuprofen didn’t feel a thing! I was so relieved deep breathing and it was done. I started taking ibuprofen the night before 600mg and an hour before biopsy Valium (helps prevent uterus from contracting) and Vicodin. Biggest fear and relief.

    I did my test on the 11th and will have my results back within a week. It definitely hurt and I was put under anesthesia and felt the pain when I woke up. Wish u the best seems like we are both looking at April transfers 🤞

      May I ask where did you get anesthesia? Because when I asked for, my doctors office told me that they only ones time administer just for transfer . I am so scared now 😞😢.

      @@inessamardzic5927 in Florida, they give anesthesia as an option which is about $500 out of pocket u less it’s covered by your health insurance. Everytime I had the that procedure done I have always had anesthesia.

    • @inessamardzic5927
      @inessamardzic5927 3 года назад +1

      @Mrz. Williams thank you for your answer lucky you I am in Illinois and don’t understand why they don’t offer anesthesia especially price is not too high. Why we have to suffer for something that we don’t have to.

      @@inessamardzic5927 yeah that doesn’t make any sense. Now I’m thankful for having anesthesia bc the pain afterwards hurted and I couldn’t imagine having to feel the complete process. Good luck to you sending baby dust !!!! I’m currently in my 3rd trimester with about 9/10 weeks left

    What an amazing test! I might have to have this done. Why did your doctor recommend this for you?

    • @FruitfulMyFertilityJourney
      @FruitfulMyFertilityJourney  4 года назад +2

      Yes it is! To determine how much progesterone is needed and the optimal time for transfer to have the best chance of success!

    Is a ERA and a uterine biopsy the same thing? I've had a uterine biopsy before. That hurt like what you're describing. I almost passed out. There was no warning that that would be done. I found out when I got to the doctor. So no pain meds or valium.
