Great work!!! If you don't mind me asking... How much $$$ do you think you're into the Bentley so far?
I hope you can help me, I have a Continental GT and one day the nose of the car was sitting completely on the ground and didn't want to rise, so I took the car to the shop and they said that the front struts were leaking and also the compressor was weak, so I ordered both air springs and the compressor, also we put a new air suspension valve block but nothing, the car suspension will simply not rise, so at this point I'm stumped, what can I do to fix this issue?
@@stephmartinez790 You need a VCDS cable with the vag con software. With that you can test the suspension component functions. That will point you in the right direction to what is wrong.
@@stephmartinez790 Hey Steph.... What turned out to be wrong with you GT? I'm facing the same issue right now. I changed the pump and valve and I'm still on the ground. :-(

I give you props for taking this project on. My dad had an old 50's era Bentley . It was also a nightmare to get it on the road. Watching your video seems like his car was reincarnated into this Hi Tech nightmare. Air suspension is prone to mechanically issues. The same goes for Rolls Royce's hydraulic suspension. You would think Bentley would go the way of mechanical suspension with some good Bilstein shocks like in Mercedes since they are now owned by the krauts. Good Luck!

You are persistent, I'll give you that. Hopefully, you turned a decent profit. I owned a RR Silver Spur a couple years ago. Parts were atrocious simply because the RR dealer had them and I didn't. I did actually buy a new set of RR wheels from a RR parts dealer in England cheaper than a RR dealership stateside, including shipping. Crazy! I finally donated it to a local trade school and took the tax credit. Great videos.

Great work in fixing the fuel issues, a shop would have dropped the tank and threw it away, I guess the tank is fitted almost first during the initial build so exhaust, Heatshield, propshaft and maybe rear subframe needs to be removed to get near the tank so I tip my hat, lying in the (stripped out) trunk wouldn't been much fun at all!
Great thinking on the module swap especially retaining the casing to preserve the Bentley PN.

There has been some seriousl studies concerning Table sugar having the ability to wreck an engine, and the results point to a potentially expensive clogging but due to the weight of sugar it doesnt travel along with gasoline deep enough into the engine to reach the fuel management system in particles small enough to piggyback with gasoline to be atomized and sent into the waiting combustion chambers.Without key access to open the fuel door, it would require a fairly aggressive act of vandalism to clear an opening to add the sugar.And it wouldn't be a quick or easy thing to do.As far as being declared a salvage/ total loss issue, you hit the jackpot on the Bentley. It's so damned beautiful I can't stand it!! Blessings to you and yours! Dude! You're drivin a freaking Bentley!

Remarks: this Bentley engine is - origin- Phaeton-VW, but developed from (VW)-Audi.
So, as you discovered, Bentley parts are cheaper if
buying under Part-Numbers of VW and/or from Audi,
as exchangeable.

Great work mate. I own a V10 Phaeton. I had exactly the same problems with my suspension, a second hand module sorted out mine also. Looking forward to see you work on scratches. Someone keyed my car recently so need a few tips on how to repair it myself.
I am having the same issue like you had but with the front wheels of my Bentley. I am not a car repair dude but I wonder if I should give it a try on my own.

just a thought about the water ingress on that suspension module it is right under the rear light cluster so water could be getting in round the seal between the light and body
I see that the tail light was just above the suspension module. Is it possible that there was a leak around the tail light? Maybe cover the top of the module with plastic wrap just to be safe.

Was the Castrol the factory recommended brand or just your’s, and my, preference?
The castrol was for my truck. This bentley uses 13 quarts of Mobile 1, factory recommend.

A security access code is required to make changes to the pcm. The VAG COM software provides it.

I find this quite informative, and actually decided to try out this method as well however when I entered the security code for adaptation 10 in order to calibrate it gave me an error 35: Controller refused the key. Was there any adjustments that needed to be done before the calibration besides entering the basic codes? Since this part wasn’t explained in this video. Your help would be so much appreciated!!
there are no adjustment that need to be made before. If it refuses the key there is a wait period with the ignition on/ off. You can google the procedure.

How did you surpass the error code 37 for the ecu controller? It wasn’t shown in the video. I’m having the same issue now but got stuck there
I replaced the suspension control module as seen in the video
@@4LaneBlacktop I also replaced mine with the Phaeton unit same as yours. But still the error is popping out. And after keying in the security code, it still couldn’t access inside. How did you surpass the security access after you install the new module? It wasn’t shown in the video.
@Thomas Lee Im mot sure whats going on. I never had trouble entering the security code or setting up the module.

Water came in through rear lights probably from use of a pressure washer screwed mine up that way
I actually believe on this one someone poured it in on purpose, part of the vandalism.

Morning Brother. I have a 2010 Bentley Continental Flying Spur. I raised my suspension to high but I was driving the suspension system lower itself down to normal high. Do you know why it is doing this??? Please help! Thanks brother.
I think the high setting is just to raise the car to get over objects at low speeds so the car does not scrape.
