For the price, they definitely should have included a full shell that you only need to move the board over to. But really cool that they're doing this at all, thanks for covering it!
Thats what I was going to say. Why not just have everything ready. My snes is really ugly I want a full new case and I think a lot of people would have the same state.

Agreed, way to pricey to make you reuse the eject, cart door, and expansion slot cover especially since they kind of clash with the atomic purple shell. Looks good otherwise though.
It's a shame they didn't add those few extra parts like eject button, cartridge door, etc. Otherwise it looks great. Also wish they had Atomic Orange =)
Looks great. I agree with the other comments about how it'd be even better if you didn't have to re-use some of the original plastic, but still very nice.
This is a beautiful case. The NA snes should definitely have the atomic purple case. It would look even better if the cart door was atomic purple too though.

I would absolutely buy one asap, if they included a full shell. For $119.xx, I expect the grey bits, fresh springs, etc. Otherwise, the inevitable $10-20 knock-off will likely be a nice option.
What are the knock offs you mean? I have one but it needs a new shell. Anything I seen on US ebay that looked like a new repro was in the $50 range. There is an oem yellowed one for $35 ish or so. What should I look up for what you mentioned? Thanks.
I can't believe there aren't knock offs for this yet. $120 is way too much for a shell

I bought a clear shell from RGR last year. My only complaint was that the screw holes were not pre-tapped. The original screws Nintendo used do not have the strength to self-tap as you screw them in, so I highly recommend you PRE-TAP YOUR HOLES with a very small drill bit prior to trying to screw anything down.
The thought of atomic purple shell has never crossed my mind for SNES. It looks amazing. Only if I still had mine, I'd do this! (I gave it to my brother).
That Atomic Purple looks so good. It fits perfectly with the color theme of the US Super Nintendo.

Atomic purple 💯% that clear purple paired with the original purple power/reset is really nice.
I wonder if they could match the texture of the og controller to be that sorta rough style feel it would help it not be quite as smooth and maybe help darken the color a bit. would look good.

Looks real nice. Now let me tell you what I want. What if someone made something stackable, just like a Hi-Fi stack? One component for each console, with cartridge ports in the front. Expensive? Yes. Cool as hell? Also yes.

Man does this look fantastic!!! It really pops with the purple buttons! Unfortunately I’m out at $120… that’s a bit ridiculous. Maybe if it was closer to $40-50.
even 40 is too much. i can find a working snes in serviceeable condition for 100. how is just the shell worth 40? i could find a broken snes for parts on ebay and have a new shell for next to nothing.

Aww, they do a conversion kit for the Bandai mini saturn model to accept the CM4 but it's out of stock. Wish I'd known about that earlier. :(
Use a hair dryer and a razor blade and gently transfer over the original stickers from the old shell to the new one. Original warranty stickers and stuff would look cool on a repro shell.

I plan to get one of these next year when i get some bills paid off. My SNES fell from a shelf and the case was so brittle it broke into 20 pieces. I hope someone comes up with a DIY SNES like they did with the NES.

Looks outstanding! I'm a huuuuuge fan of the transparent cases in consoles and controllers. Is that plastic the non scratch type though? Some oil those plastics used are super easy scratch magnets? How does that one fare?

Only issue is if you need a new shell because the old one was damaged or missing parts... old game door missing etc. Would be nice if an option to include some of the port covers/game door were also available.
My snes shell has parts broken off it, so this seems cool, expensive... but cool :P
Kinda bummed you had to transfer over some gray pieces, but like the shell as a whole. Also kind of disappointed there isn't the cart lock mechanism.
Wish they had a smoked clear. The just has black clear.
Not bad. I prefer translucent to transparent myself. Its also kind of a bummer they didnt give replacement cartridge door and eject buttons to match the rest of the shell. Them being gray makes them look way out of place.

Inside my SNES, loose and falling around everywhere, I got a strange white plastic dome with a peg sticking out the top... looks like a smokey white nipple, lbs. Or an igloo with chimeney, perhaps. Is it maybe a LED diffuser??? Any ideas what it could be or where it goes??
What screwdrivers did you use to remove everything from the inside? Mine is all brittle and I want to get a replacement but not sure what i would need.

The plain clear ones look a little too much like those prison electronics. I'm not a big fan of purple but that ine does look really good. REALLY good.

About 15 years ago I got clear yellow case for my original XBOX for $20 on Ebay. Clear N64 case is $35 on AliExpress right now. $115?? I need to think about it...

the old original case is timeless, you just need to de-yellow the case to make it look like new again

Have you purchased a received the smoke black case? I recently purchased one and just recently received it and it just does not seem nowhere as nice as the pictures on their site or the ones in your videos, it could just be the smoke black case but there a few manufacturing rough spots and it’s really dark.

This is Great For one Main reason besides looks. Most Snes's these days have that faded yellowish tone that makes you not want to buy one
