Ys: Memories Of Celceta Retrospective

Memories of Celceta has a cool title, but how does it stack up against the strong first three Ys games?
Developed by Nihon Falcom, Ys: Memories of Celceta is a new version of Ys IV that replaces both Ys IV: Mask of the Sun and Ys IV: Dawn of Ys as the canonical fourth entry in the series. It was originally released in Japan for the Vita in 2012 and came to the West the following year.

It sounds like in your playthrough Adol was just so much of a legendary hero he could sit this one out XD
This game is sick and has the best regular boss theme in the series, such great energy. I like how this game is the first to frame the story that every game is told in retrospect and that Adol is some legendary hero. I like that shift in presentation alot. This game is a great follow up to Ys Seven and continues the world building of that game.

I think this i the worst of the party based Ys games. Its nice to see another person going thru the entire Ys series. Its so worth it!

Hey Leon, you honestly should make a Ys ranking video once your caught up with the series. It would be a fascinating video. Also, did you play Ys 4 on steam or on psp?

The PC Engine version of Ys IV is held in pretty high regard actually. The Super Nintendo version much less so.

I found this game underwhelming. Still think Dawn of Ys is the best version of Ys IV.
