    Just for the people thinking of buying a PSVITA this year, it has a tremendous Modding Homebrew scene, they've ported several GTA games, bully, Cuphead, Mario kart, Mario 64, Zelda, Max Payne, Celeste and several other games... yes these are native ports not emulation, and there's more coming in the future such as Dead Cells, Hades ETC.

    At the time of vita's release and going through like, 2015 or so, Sony actually did really encourage developers to put games on both PS4 and Vita and I think offered some assistance to do so to smaller developers - it's why the Vita became a great place for indie ports.

    • @TheLastLineLive
      @TheLastLineLive 2 года назад +8

      Yeah, I think after Freedom Wars, Sony pulled out of developing their own games, but wanted it to be a bridge/extension device to the PS4 for stuff like indies as well as remote play.

    The hardware quality (for the time), the Vita library, the compatibility with the PSP library, the ability to play PSOne Classics on it, and the synergies with the Playstation TV and PS3 to essentially facilitate a "Switch-like" experience for a lot of games before the Switch was even a thing, will forever make the Vita one of the best consoles of all time, and no one will ever be able to tell me otherwise.

    Long live the Vita!!! Long live the Vita!!! Tearaway is vastly underrated. I also picked the deluxe version of Shantae at GameStop from the shelf a couple years ago! It was like less than $20. I’m a Sony guy but I don’t know if I can forgive them for how they crapped on the Vita and let it die, it’s incredibly sad. So many games were planned, even a Bioshock game. It cold have sold like crazy if Sony really pushed it, and not just marketed it as a way to do remote play.

    Muramasa Rebirth alone is reason to own a Vita. It's such a colorful game that looks amazing on the old model's OLED screen. Really can't wait to jump into some of the Japanese VNs on the system too. Holding off just a bit longer since I'm currently playing Dragon Quest games in Japanese to work on my reading, but I hope to be reading a bunch of VN on it by the end of this year.

    • @belto3149
      @belto3149 2 года назад

      You should probably start by something easier to read tbh. Dragon quest uses lots of fancy or uncommon words and the text can sometimes be formulated in a strange way.

      @@belto3149 I have played through the first 3 in Japanese and while the occasionally old style grammar was a bit weird at first it wasn't too bad to pick up on. I have a real love/hate relationship with the Vita. My OLED Vita is still going strong and I’ve enjoyed it a lot..
    2 or 3 years after launch my joy started to wane. Too many games had performance issues and the output from Sony was starting to dry up. Why should I invest my time and money into it when Sony have turned their backs on it? It was a strange decision that still baffles me today, and I worked for the company in Japan for nearly 5 years.
    More recently, with the popularity of the Switch, I’ve been able to sell off many of my Vita games and get the better looking and performing Switch versions and have still have quite a bit of money left over.

    I love the rhythm games for the Vita. My top favorites are the Project Diva and Taiko series. I enjoy playing those games on console devices as well but I thoroughly enjoy playing rhythm games on handheld systems such as the Vita, 3DS, and Nintendo Switch. Plus the amount of jrpgs for the Vita is just fantastic. I think my hubby and I have a little over thirty games for the Vita. A good chunk we haven't even dipped into yet but hopefully we will be able to play more this year.

    Nice starter collection. I’ve been collecting for Vita since it first came out. I’m at 300 games so far. Most of them being virtual novels!

    I bought both trails games for like 45-50 a piece. I didn't realize how lucky I was to find those two games so reasonably priced and physical copies.

    Love the video. I think you are missing some of the Warriors games like Warrior's Orochi 1 and 2 and Samurai Warriors 4 and 4-II but overall great collection. Soldner X2 is one of my favorite shooters on this system. Too bad it didn't have online play. That would have been sweet. Would love Dariusburst Chronical Saviours and Drive Girls one day. You also missed 99Vidas, Foul Play and Phantom Breaker Battlegrounds as well just because they are beat em ups

    Loving this man! Great to see lots of releases I am totally interested in. The side scrolling are always the best. That Soldner X-2 is totally like the super awesome Einhander on the original PS1. Super perfect game and beyond for it's time. Will definitely look into finding that for sure. Might be difficult to find in Ontario Canada. Not sure why but it also reminded me of Tempest X3. That is some serious shit as well. Could be because I must have been playing the shooters at the same time back in the day as new releases... damnit.... now I feel old! Thank you once again! Lots of love and blessings!

    Thanks for sharing! I recently sold my Vita collection (147 physical games) as well as my full Atari Jaguar/CD collection. Was able to pay off my brand new car with the $5,200 I received from selling both collections.
    I loved collecting but didn’t play the systems library that much, only around 10 games often played.
    I still have both my OLED and Slim vita’s, both modded now, and will definitely be keeping them!
    I think size wise that the Vita is the perfect size for a handheld system. There are definitely a few phenomenal games that you can’t play anywhere else. 👍🏻

    I love my Vita! I have about 76 physical games for it. I just imported FF X-2 from Asia so I could have a copy of it. I am in 65 hours in on FF X right now. Thank you for the great video! Vita means life!! Long live the vita.

    Just a QOL heads-up for visual novels: It is fairly common now to have an auto-progression feature - just set it to auto-proceed, and you only have to press that one button sequence and nothing more until you want to stop. This is at the very least true for Utawarerumono (and every other game from Aquaplus that I'm aware of), Doki Doki Literature Club and Root Letter.

    beautiful collection, similar to my own. I need to get one of those Axiom Verge limited edition box set like you have. Nearly all of those games can get pretty expensive. Thank you for making a new video, best wishes, peace and love brother.

    One of my favorite systems and I'd love to collect more for it, but every shop around here only ever has the same 4-5 games. And they're always $50+. I've gotten most of my collection from Amazon, ebay etc. but it's just so expensive now. The dream would be to visit Japan for multiple reasons, and seeing the love for Vita over there is definitely one of them.
