I am just imagining a Breton man in basic leather armor slowly stalking maven Black-briar. She thinks nothing of it, and simply sicks the dark brotherhood and before that the thieves guild on him. This does nothing, he simply vanishes like a ghost, or the thugs she sends end up becoming smears on the wall. Maven keeps seeing him everywhere, but every thug, every murderer ends up going missing, can't find him, or dies horribly. Over a period of months Maven enters a downward terrified spiral of anger, paranoia, and fear. Eventually, the thieves guild and Dark brotherhood stop doing deals with Maven. They're losing too many men. So maven hires more mundane thugs, and leaves Riften, going into hiding with her family. But the Breton man...He's still there. Always watching. Then one night he breaks into her home, getting past her thugs and cornering her in the bedroom. As he stares into maven's terrified, sleep deprived face, he opens his mouth, and speaks, his voice soothing and strangely accented. "The Black-briars are a formidable family; headed by the matriarch Maven Black-briar. The family have come to own most of the city of riften; from paying most of the guard, to owning most of the businesses. Such as the meadery, and the bee and barb." Maven stares from her bed in horror, and confusion. "This infamous family, make an absolute fortune extorting the downtrodden people, of riften. but for all their power, its safe to say that the Black-briars are a family of idiots." Maven screams, as Avarti systematically explains to her why she's dumb as a sack of trollfat.
Actually in both Dark Brotherhood's ending you destroy Astrid corrupted version of Brotherhood but the night mother remains. I have a theory that Maven bought the Astrid Dark Brotherhood so that she and her associates woudlnt be targets of assassination .But during the quest you come to realize that everyone has a price including the emperor and since probably the gatekeeper Astrid dies you actually leave her vulnerable for assassination. In the thieves guild you remove Mercer and by re adding the nightingales I can kinda see her vulnerable there too.
*casually wades into the sanctuary and obliterates the dark brotherhood* well atleast that's what I did, I tried the Dark Brotherhood...never again lol
Yeah. Bethesda didn't exactly think the potential plotline changes very well, did they? There are SO many immersion breaks in the game because Bethesda is filled with lazy, unimaginative idiots and is run by a lying scumbag who loves to bait-n-switch. Unless they clean up their act, Skyrim will be my last Bethesda game. And that sucks because I started working on a dungeon mod for Skyrim, but have lost interest because of Bethesda's recent choices.
Soldier4USA2005 I’m sorry, but can you design a game that was made around 2012, and still sees a large following in 2019? I wouldn’t argue that Bethesda is lazy, you really need to look at the incredible scale of the game. Immersion breaks are going to happen because of just how large it really is.
@@thebygoneking They made Morrowind which was massive, easily twice as good as Skyrim and still has a large fanbase. It came out in 2002. Skyrim is as vast as an ocean and as deep as a puddle. Morrowind is as vast as an ocean and as deep as one. And Morrowind was made with a fraction of the team Skyrim had and was still much better than Skyrim, despite the fact that Bethesda was on the brink of failure when it was made. Skyrim is a good game and I don't believe the creators were lazy, but they could have done and SHOULD have done a much better job than they did. Shit, they didn't even bother to fix these issues when the DLCs came out or when they remastered the game, but they didn't for unknown reasons, and THAT is undeniably lazy. Or just proving that they don't care enough to fix even these glaring issues. Also, just because someone can't create a game doesn't mean they can't point out flaws in an existing one lmao
Maven: Hurr durr respect me or die! I'll summon the thieves guild and dark brotherhood! Dragonborn, listener of the dark brotherhood, leader of the thieves guild and immortal Lord of Castle Volkihar: ok.
Maven: Dark Brotherhood, kill this one Dark Brotherhood: lol no, they are our leader Maven: Thieves Guil . . . Why is he here? Thieves Guild: He is guild master Maven: Companions? Companions: Hatbinger Maven: College . . . Of . . . Winterhold? College: Archmage Maven: Thalmor? Thalmor: They kill everyone we send after them quickly, not worth it anymore Maven: Volkihar Castle Dawnguard: Dead Maven: Morag Tong? Tong: Gladly
It’s understandable why Maven acts like she controls the thieves guild because she protects them from the guards, but she FOOLISHLY believes the same thing applies to the Dark Brotherhood. All it takes is one black sacrament from anybody whose life she ruined, and the new listener would be more than happy to slit her throat. Her money and status won’t protect her then!
That's something I always wondered: Can the Dark Brotherhood, or especially you as their leader/listener actually *decline* an assassination? Do they have the freedom to say "no I won't kill that person because I like her/we would get into trouble/etc.? Or is *to do so to invoke the wrath of Sithis?* And if it's really not allowed to break a contract written by the Black Sacrament, what actually happens? Do they just die? Does every Dark Brother/Sister immediately get the command to kill the traitor?
@@williamvalorious4403 I Think if the Dark Brotherhood was in Astrid Lidership, that would Happen... Because she din't follow the Old Ways . Sorry My English. 05-09-2019.
@@lordhelmchen3154 No they cannot, Once the Night Mother tells to the Listener who to kill then the Listener must convey that Information to the Brotherhood and the Brotherhood will carry it out. The one who accepts or declines assassinations is not the Listener, it is the Night Mother as an agent of Sithis. That is why the Dark Brotherhood is impossible to track because they don't contact their contracts since the Night Mother simply tells them which one to kill. They only contact them after the deed is done to receive payment.
@@lordhelmchen3154 Sithis and the Night Mother won't be too happy if a contract remains incomplete, so if they know what's good for them, they would say yes to a contract no matter what.

I remember being like "I wonder why she needs specifically these poisonous plants for Alchemy, something's not right here" turns out it was her what wasn't right.
Or maybe she used up ingredients that belonged to the shopkeeperfor practice and had to replace them. Shopkeeper even insists that she practices the basics
To be fair, Ingun is the least bad of all the Black-Briar's. She's very polite to the Dragonborn, and her quest to find the nirnroot, deathbell and nightshade are to restock what she had used of Elgrim's stock. I like to think her interest in poisons is so she can one day kill her mother and brothers, so she can inherit the family fortune and then go and refine her alchemy skills. Edit: According to the game files, Hemming was originally written as Maven's husband, but it was changed before release, and for some reason, his AI was never changed (he has some lines of dialogue referring to Sibbi and Ingun as his children).
she needs a bunch of poisonous stuff replaced before the teacher figures out she largely makes poisons...if the npc's had more than a days worth of life programmed into them that alchemist is dead within a month
Honestly, I have no idea how Maven got as powerful as she did while stepping on so many people when the Dark Brotherhood exists in Skyrim. Can you imagine how many people performed the Black Sacrament on her? From both a personal and business standpoint, I find it hard to believe no one wants her dead.
Wasn't the Astrid led Dark Brotherhood a bit loose when it comes to following the tenets? Maybe they consider Maven to be too valuable to kill, so they ignore the sacrament whenever she's the target...
Mathew C. She prob had Astrid in her pocket. Remember that the thieves guild and Astrid had close ties when you bring that amulet to delvin? Astrid is prob the same and views maven as “good for business.” Me though, if Sithis wishes Maven dead I’d do it gladly.
@@LOKITYZ or they just didn't hear about the person performing the black sacrament because the person didn't go screaming it from the rooftops for everybody to hear
You can find her letter to the dark Brotherhood of her angry that they won't assassinate a target for her, no matter how many times she does their vile sacrament. So is it possible she isn't as powerful as people think?
I think ingun's interest in alchemy was warped because of her mother, but when Maven is no more, she will be the only one capable of taking care of herself. In some capacity.
@@Hektols I get what you mean, but the Dark Brotherhood has an alchemist that survived. Also that is assuming that the player is not the one destroying the Dark Brotherhood.
What's even funnier is that Mercer Frey himself said that Black Briar Mead is swill, but it's so popular because it's literally the only mead that's available, due to Maven brutally putting down any businesses that started to get on their feet.
Sad thing is ingun(The woman who find a clinical interest in watching thing die) is probably the least useless of the three. One is a hedonist who cares nothing but his own tastes and would probably end up as the family muscle, the others a yesman, while Igun at least has brains but will likely just take some of her family's wealth and find some out of the way village she can do her experiments in, selling to the dark brotherhood and thieves guild.
Honestly, Maven Black-Briar and Mercer are the reasons why the Thieves Guild went to shit in Skyrim. Also, I see no point in helping this wench or the Thieves Guild and I'd rather see Maven either get roasted by a dragon, turned into a thrall by vampires, mutilated by trolls, or even poisoned by her own family member, Ingun.
@@Nathan-mf2yz Most of Skyrim's guilds are pale imitations of the originals. Thieves not using beggars as spies; you not having to prove yourself as a capable thief due to you not having to steal stuff and sell them off at the fence, making it so you can just go in as a person with no sneak skills at all; and the fact that most of the questline is going on a revenge mission.
I always felt the Thieves' Guild questline was incomplete without a series of missions to remove Maven from her power base and replace her with someone more respectful of the Guild's position and newly earned reputation.
personally I always felt like the Thieves Guild was too Empire-aligned i.e having to work for Maven who supports the Empire and the contact in Whiterun being Olfrid the Kidnapper and Erikur the Ass in Solitude meant it was impossible to play as a Stormcloak-sympathetic character. In my opinion there should've been the option to remove Maven and have Nazeem b your contact in Whiterun instead (making him more than just a meme) and Gulum-Ei in Solitude and keep the questline neutral as it should b
Probably because she looks like a younger, "prettier" version of Maven. But experimenting on animals and being fascinated by how the world brings life and death is an awful combination.
@@Losojostristes true that is where I feel she falls into sadism or just cruelty, I think that Bethesda could have fleshed out a bit more like with another quest that delves more into that side
I actually liked Ingun. I would prefer to kill every Black-Briar but Ingun. She would be a useful person to have around as she would be well versed in potion making.
She really is the Tywin of the Skyrim. While she is shrewd in business and adept at instilling fear in subordinates, she doesn't consider the long term affects her choices will cause. And the fact she is unable to instill qualities in her children that would insure that their legacy lasts past her death, makes her the spitting image of Lord Lannister.
Tyrion was a success even if it was on accident. Tyrion might have been a drunk, but Tyrion displayed he was a great ruler during his time as Hand of The King in King's Landing (not counting the last couple seasons of the show, as they rushed everybody's characters in the end)
@@fugustogamer7512 I agree that show-Tyrion is a success of a sort, but from Tywins perspective he probably isn't. Tyrion more or less abandons the Lannister name and willingly helps usher in a new rule instead of advancing his family's agenda. So while we might see these qualities as virtues, to Tywin they are flaws. As for book-Tyrion he seems much less like a good ruler/heir and more somebody going off the deep end.
Another bit of idiocy on Mavens part is when she talks about the Dark Brotherhood (More specifically the Black Hand) and the Thieves Guild as if their her puppets, as if she controls all of them. This is even more stupid if the player has completed the Dark Brotherhood questline (siding with the brotherhood of course) as you would be the listener, and would have the highest position in the Black Hand. So in that instance she’d be threatening you by saying that she’ll call you to exterminate yourself. So yeah pretty idiotic.
For those who don’t know The Black Hand is basically the high council or the ruling body of The Dark Brotherhood consisting of four speakers( The pinky, index, middle, and ring fingers) and the listener(the thumb) the listener relays the message of the Night Mother to the Speakers and the Speakers relay it to the Silencers (Think of them as the chosen assassins of the Speakers, there are four silencers, one for each Speaker) and the Silencers do the killing, not excluding the other assassins in the Brotherhood.
Or even better if you kill the dark brotherhood it's like 'I'll hire the dark brotherhood to kill you!' "you mean that group of losers I turned into sashimi last week? yeah. I'm sure they'll get right on that.'
I mean, these videos don't really show the characters are poorly written or don't make sense. This being a particularly good example The black briars make plenty of sense all things considered. That doesn't make them smart though. Power can do crazy things to a person.
xXOwenRulesXx Roblox actually she seems to be the most evil of them all as in game dialogue confirms she tortured animals by testing poisons on them, and she also tells you “I wish to pledge my life and ply my talents in darker circles”
She won’t kick the bucket. She’s essential. Also, watch your tongue overpowered Dragonborn/Guild Master/Listener or Dark Brotherhood destroyer/person who kills every assassin sent your way. Maven has ties to the Guild and Dark Brotherhood.
Maven is the type of woman that "where's your manager? You've crossed the line! Do you know who I am? I'm going to send assassins to you, don't you dare mess with the BB"
Well and remember, the Thalmor DID infiltrate Riften. They were looking for Esbern and not only did they not hesitate at the thought of Maven but they also got through without her or the Thieves Guild noticing. So much for "Nothing goes on in Riften without Maven knowing about it"
I always liked Ingun, she seems genuinely nice when the player interacts with her. I always thought "oh, she's eventually gonna become an alchemist." Or maybe a poison specialist for the dark brotherhood, either way.
Maven... Arguably more irritating than Nazeem. Well girl, you certainly aren't selling yourself with that attitude. Go ahead, keep making enemies. I'm sure that will go down so well for you.
I ignore Nazeem he’s just a phony buffoon with a massive ego that thinks he’s some important bussiness nobleman (which he actually isn’t) but doesn’t seem to do any harm to anyone and is kinda funny. Now Maven not only is everything I listed above but a real awful person, always plotting, bribing, threatening against anything and anyone that doesn’t go by her rules and who she considers to be a threat to her dirty scams. To think Bethesda made that bitch unkillable...
You forgot a tiny detail. Behind a master lock in the BlackBriar manor there is a skeleton with a heart, flesh and nightshade. That means Mavin performed the black sacrament. Why would an extremely wealthy business woman with the guards in her pocket rely on a dying order for their "services" when she easily has the means to do it herself?
Nah man, you gotta play this smart. I married Ingun in my playthrough, so once every Black-briar male is in jail or death, Ingun gets the inheritance and boom, now you are the new head of the Black-briars.
I like how she kind of threatens to send the dark brotherhood after you, even if you are the listener and as such too important for the night mother to accept a contract on. She also may think of sending the theive's guild after you, even if you are the guild master and as such can say no to the job. She can send thugs after you but I consider them to be free money and items with how easy it is to kill them.
Am wondering now if Maven helped the Thalmer get in to the sewer to help catch Esbjørn. Because how ells would a bunch of Thalmer get into a stormclock controlled city.
Maul: "The black briars have a connection to the dark brotherhood and thieves guild, so basically noone can touch them" me: "ohhhh look Nazeem has a new contract called Avarti"

Nah, I've got the code to complete the Stormcloak Quest for retaking The Rift. She's not going to remain in charge for even a month in my game. She'll die after I remove her essential tag, leave the city for a while and switch it to the Stormcloaks, I'll do this towards the end of the Imperial War so they don't ask me to retake it. The Rift will be free of her corruption, stupidity, and elitism. And to make absolutely sure it ends there, her family will be next to die. CompleteQuest [Quest ID] is the code. The quest tag is CWFortSiegeFort.
Maybe you could bring up Mjoll the Lioness. Who can't see one of the key members of the Theives Guild standing in the market area. Mjoll the Lioness is another missed opportunity by Bethseda. They could've included her as quest giver. Who accepts the Dragonborn's help in cleaning up Riften. First by getting rid of the Thieves Guild, exposing the steward's connection to the criminal organization, by getting rid of the Black-Briar family, and more. But no instead they had us go on some meaningless task of retrieving her sword for her. So because of Bethseda's missed opportunity with Mjoll. Which reduce her to being a meaningless character. She should be treat as what she comes off as, an idiot.
Same right here dude. But both side where the Empire and Stromcloaks has their corrupt family. The Stormcloaks has Silver-Blood the corrupt family by Thonar in Markarth, join the Stormcloaks his brother Thonvor Silver-Blood will be Jarl and Thonar will rule everything in Markarth. Worst, imprison to Cidna Mine where anyone who refuse to follow the Silver-Bloods and racism like Windhelm. The Empire had Maven Black-Briar the most corrupt family running in Riften, join the Empire, Maven will be Jarl and continue to corrupt to the core and continue to supply the Stromcloaks to continue the fight even if the civil war is over.
yeah, everytime i deal with either family has me looking up just how essential they are to the game. last time i left cidna mine i killed everyone in the mine, then killed the arrogant silver blood patriarch when he congratulated me. where you gonna send me guards? the mine? what a bother that'll be...
If the Black-Briars weren't set as essential, you could kill them. Post game, the wrong person to piss off could be the Dragonborn and no person, village, town, city and possibly kingdoms would survive the Dragonbirn.

I love this series keep up the good work please make videos on why General tullius is a genius or why the Empire is the best choice for skyrim or why the Stormcloaks are idiots
I think Ingun is the most well-adjusted of the three. The worst that can be said about her is a morbid fascination for the darker side of alchemy. She separates herself from the rest of the Black-Briar family, she's respectful toward her teacher Elgrim and takes steps (admittedly by asking the Dragonborn for help) to make up for her used-up ingredients - she would be a more worthy successor to the family solely because she has a better sense of morality and responsibility. So she talks a little creepily about poisons. Better to have someone with an interest in poisons in a place of power than someone with Maven's arrogance and entitlement to two dangerous organizations that could ruin her if she pisses them off.
Tbh, Ingun wasn't that evil. She had good the desire to be recognised for what she can do and not because of her name. But ofcourse she had that sinister philosophy, clearly running from her blood.
I'm surprised you didn't mention her apparent connection to the Dark Brotherhood. Honestly she infuriates me. When you become Leader of both the Thieves Guild and The Dark Brotherhood, she STILL threatens you and acts like she owns you. When I had exhausted the quests to do with the Black Briars, I removed her "Essential Tag" and finally ended her. She is the ONE character in the ENTIRE Elder Scrolls Series that I hate the absolute most. Even Delphine, I see her as annoying and beyond stupid, but when I compare her to Maven Black Briar, Delphine looks like SAINT by comparison. Absolutely no one deserves to die more than Maven. I honestly feel bad for console players, they can't feel the unimaginable joy of killing that unbelievable Cunt whom I swear would make Mehrunes Dagon cringe.
Don't worry too much about us. Some of us can still install mods that allow us to kill that arrogant hag. Shame we can't just do it in vanilla, though.

For anyone that wants Maven dead and doesn’t have the means to kill her using console commands or mods: Become leader of the thieves guild and listener of the Dark Brotherhood. The thieves guild doesn’t need her with nocturnal giving them luck again, and the only contracts from the DB that matter are the ones that get whispered to you, the only one that can hear them. Finish the main questline and gain some respect, Kill all her children except hemming, and take satisfaction that she’s old, is going to die soon and has no competent heir left to the family, and is threatening the savior of all of nirn with factions that she no longer has control over. Eventually everyone else will start to realize just how crazy she is and by the time she dies no one will care.

Is there a video on Jarl Balgruuf yet? I've always thought he was pretty dumb. "Oh, you barely survived a dragon attack at Helgen? Go help my guards and my housecarl defend my city from another dragon!" Not to mention all 3 of his children are annoying spoiled brats, and all they do is look down on the Dragonborn. He basically ignores the player's status as The Last Dragonborn (possibly not knowing enough about it or even caring). And Whiterun itself is basically an Imperial friendly city, despite Balgruuf saying "he hasn't yet chosen a side" (even though the guards walk around with Imperial bows and swords).
well to be fair he knows you all most died that is why he sent you with a lot back up. and his kids are not like that because of him you find out in a quest for him a cursed sword is messing with his kids. as for the guards well it would have took longer to make a 3rd guard type that only stayed around till he picked.

"The Black-briars are a formidable family; headed by the matriarch Maven Black-briar. The family have come to own most of the city of riften; from paying most of the guard, to owning most of the businesses. Such as the meadery, and the bee and barb." Maven stares from her bed in horror, and confusion.
"This infamous family, make an absolute fortune extorting the downtrodden people, of riften. but for all their power, its safe to say that the Black-briars are a family of idiots."

I actually liked Ingun. I would prefer to kill every Black-Briar but Ingun. She would be a useful person to have around as she would be well versed in potion making.
I say she very mentally insane but not evil
She really is the Tywin of the Skyrim. While she is shrewd in business and adept at instilling fear in subordinates, she doesn't consider the long term affects her choices will cause. And the fact she is unable to instill qualities in her children that would insure that their legacy lasts past her death, makes her the spitting image of Lord Lannister.
Finally, someone who understands the type of character Tywin is.
Is English not your first language?
Excellent comparison

She's not evil because she knows that using her poisons on people without a real reason other than for enjoyment is wrong that's why she doesn't do it. If she wanted to she would be able to get away with it she's smart enough to make it look like she had nothing to do with is plus she's a black briar.

Jokes on her! I made my character immortal with mods!
You don't need mods for that. Just type in "tgm" in console commands and it's done.
I only have a PS4, though.
@@tengu9959 Oh, okay. In that case mods are the only way. Well, as little as sony allows anyway.
New idea: WHY Avarti is an Idiot!
I think after so many videos this is a classic series and we need a meta episode like all good TV shows with a cult hardcore following. I wonder if other skyrim youtubers like fudgemuppet or eso or gopher or camel works watch this series and like ' damn wish I thought of this genius idea first'
This idea reminds me of CinemaSins doing a video on themselves and the sins are infinite last I checked. xD
He had to bring Brexit into this. There's enough tension in the country , please don't bring it to Skyrim. :)
Lmao did he just out himself as a remainer or what?

Maven says "Be careful I have ties with the theives guild AND the dark brotherhood" and I'm like "I AM THE THEIVES GUILD AND THE DARK BROTHERHOOD"
Ngl, I find Ingun quite adorable to be absorbed into alchemy
Yeah right, that bitch uses animals as test subjects and you're just letting that slip
Dragon born:
Leader of the companions
Leader of the dark brotherhood
Leader of the college of winterhold
Kills alduin
Kills lord Harkon
Kills miraak
Maven:I’m MoRe pOwERfUl TheN yOu
Sibbi didn't kill his fiancée's brother because she tried to kill him, he killed her brother because she _caught him cheating on her_ and her brother demanded answers. Svidi did nothing wrong! She's a nice lady!
Sad detail:
If you do "Destroy the Dark Brotherhood," nobody in Riften seems to have any acknowledgment of it. Maven acts like they're still at her beck and call, as do the thieves' guild.
You'd think the one questline that mentions them would have some kind of effect from it, but nope.
I love this series keep up the good work please make videos on why General tullius is a genius or why the Empire is the best choice for skyrim or why the Stormcloaks are idiots
Good question
This.
Tbh, Ingun wasn't that evil. She had good the desire to be recognised for what she can do and not because of her name. But ofcourse she had that sinister philosophy, clearly running from her blood.
She is basically the reason why I don't like going to Riften. Her and Brynjolf hounding me to join the Thieves Guild.
Absolutely, it really sucks not being able to kill her on console. She is so infuriating
Don't worry too much about us. Some of us can still install mods that allow us to kill that arrogant hag. Shame we can't just do it in vanilla, though.
Maven: "I'll get the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood on you!"
Me, the Dragonborn: "What Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood?" **Whips out Astrid's and Brynjolf's severed heads**
Maven: "Uh-oh."
My Dragonborn who was raised by the Guild and now is Guildmaster, infiltrated the brotherhood with a fake face, killed the Emperor and the guy who put the hit on him, and then finished off the remaining Brotherhood including the Night Mother with real face: "Maven you have no power over me. I crushed the Brotherhood and run the Guild. And you are no longer our client. Sorry oh and dont bother asking anyone for help. Guards are under my control now in two ways."
That Brexit analogy was so incorrect it hurt.
UK is in deep shit and it had it coming. And as for the brexit thing, it endorses far-right shit heads namely tommy robinson, nick griffin, katie hopkins, etc... they deserve to be thrown in supermax prisons
Weird that you left out that she constantly antagonizes leader of dark brotherhood and thieves guild, organizations which she relies rather heavily on
I have commented this on every XXX are idiots video and Im gonna keep doing it
Please do one on General Tullius.
Literally just finished a Theives Guild quest involving Maven and this video shows up
Also did you just call Ingun evil? Sorry I gotta disagree with that I haven't seen one part of her action that says otherwise but that's my opinion not a big deal
She implies her poisons she makes are used on her families' rivals.
@@rexaxis3450 she also experiments on animals lol
Ingun also says something about being apart of “Darker Circles”, so there's a huge Red Flag spanning all of Nirn and Beyond.
@@brann925 umm those who specialize in making medicine in today's time do the same thing.

Is there a video on Jarl Balgruuf yet? I've always thought he was pretty dumb. "Oh, you barely survived a dragon attack at Helgen? Go help my guards and my housecarl defend my city from another dragon!"
Not to mention all 3 of his children are annoying spoiled brats, and all they do is look down on the Dragonborn.
Was his oldest son even a brat? I only remember him say that he'll become a great warrior or something along those lines
well to be fair he knows you all most died that is why he sent you with a lot back up. and his kids are not like that because of him you find out in a quest for him a cursed sword is messing with his kids. as for the guards well it would have took longer to make a 3rd guard type that only stayed around till he picked.
Why send the companions? How about six guards, the house Carl and a random stranger?
Maven: I have ties with Thieves Guild.
Dragonborn: Yeah, I know, I litteraly made that Sabjorn thing for you. Hell, you even been in the official "crowning" of me as Thieves Guild Master.
Maven: I have ties with Dark Brotherhood! So be careful.
Dragonborn: What? Maven, The Brotherhood was destroyed last week by me! All of the Holds heard about this! Every guard know this! Maven, are you sure you're okay? Maybe we need to get you to the temple or something?
Avarti why you should not do the civil war questline
Aside from the mechanics of it being awful you mean?
Because that would displease the Thalmor, and the Thalmor make the best sweetrolls. I would sell my soul for an Alinor pastry.
Maven Black-Briar can taunt me all she wants, but her petty dark brotherhood and thieves guild cannot touch the *TRULY GOOD* Dragonborn.
Good luck contacting the dark brotherhood, they wont be listening anymore...
Did he really bring Brexit into this
Maven is so sure of herself because she have a degree in programing and set her status (and her family) as "Always Essencial" before Skyrim release. That's how far her conections go 😅
What would happen if a Black-Briar and a Silver-Blood got married?
Silver-Briar? Black-Blood? hmmm
You would have Black-Bloods or Silver-Briars...
We're all dodging the big truth...If this were to happen, they'd team up to conquer Skyrim.
This is comforting. I always hated how you couldn't kill her (in the base game), but knowing she sabotaged herself, that makes me pleased that Justice will be served.

I mean the game was published in 2011 and it is massive with a lot of quests and dungeons to explore :) sure the NPCs aren't the brightest of the bunch but that tends to happen in open-world RPGs
But with the better development of AI and chat algorithms, I assume that the intelligence of NPCs will improve as time goes on! :)
This kind of “breakin’ balls” is a great way to end up at the bottom of Lake Honrich. I wouldn’t surprised if Bolli or someone reels in a very big catch by accident one day.

I still think Victoria's husband the Snow-shods son should've been Jarl after the imperials won, made more sense due to his obvious connection to the empire.
...why would you bring brexit into a skyrim lore video?
because brexit endorses far right shit heads
Igund is the only likable member and she asks you to collect ingredients for poisons
The Black-Briar's are essentially the Bluth's from Arrested Development
She's the only thing I regret about joining the Legion since she becomes Jarl. Though she's probably a step up from the previous one.

the fact that there isnt a "Destroy the thieves guild" quest like there is with the dark brotherhood is a grave injustice in Skyrim.

The thalmor being so close to her town is possibly why she keeps it so run down
