Kodlak is definitely is one of the wisest NPCs. He's also one of the most civil of NPCs, which shouldn't come as surprise. Back when being an asshole meant the chance of getting knifed, you never started anything if you didn't intend to finish it. Best to be polite, friendly, and have a plan to kill everyone you meet.

He knows he isn't all that smart but makes up for it with deliberation. He doesn't rush and is willing to listen to others to expand his outlook. I don't agree with your idea that most NPC's don't care about their afterlife. I think most NPC have no questions about their afterlife because their fate was determined at birth. A nord will end up in Sowngarde (unless he's a coward) because he was born in a nord family. An orc will join Malacath's heaven if he's loyal to the code. Religious people in our world have existential crisis and doubt because they can't have a direct contact with their god(s). Most gods in TES give you a clear step by step process for a happy afterlife and will directly tell you if you don't do it correctly. Just look what happens to Yamarz : Malacath tells him he's a cowards but gives him a chance to redeem himself.

It is known that the Atmorans did not stop when the snow elves surrendered and they continued to hunt them down which indicates that they were at the very least aggressive and vengeful and could've conceivably provoked the Elves or given them reason not to trust them with the power within Saarthal.

Unlike Savos, he cared about his reputation about his guild and despite that they may not be what they use too, they still suffered the least compared to the other factions.

So what about Savos Aren? I feel like he's only REALLY the Archmage because of formality; plenty of people show more intelligence then he, and you never get to see him use any sort of impressive magic to signify he's gifted in that area. (Though perhaps the souls of his allies bound to keep a dragon priest at bay in Labyrinthian might be an example, it is never truly explained as something Savos did himself and is only inferred.) When you speak to him, it's almost as though he's exhasperated, repeating things that he repeats on a daily basis, and very rarely shows any true interest in what's happening around him, only becoming interested when you dismiss his own words, that the Augur of Dunlain doesn't exist, and actually speak to the Augur. And even then, he sends you off to someone else to get information, as though he couldn't be bothered remembering the details of a conversation with Mirabelle he had *a week ago*. This, and hiding that he knows the player has to go to Labyrinthian the whole time.

I kind of want to see something on Isran or maybe Harkon. My idea for Isran is how he is an idiot for his unwillingness to bend. You, as the player, can become a vampire to enter the Soul Cairn. Instead of seeing how a vampire could have an advantage in vampire hunting (Who knows better on how to hunt a vampire than a vampire) he demands that you cure yourself before he will deal with you further. That alone, plus his unwillingness to trust Serana in the beginning, even though she brought a tool you need to stop the vampires and professed her desire to assist you, shows how blinded he is by his hatred of vampires. Harkon is blinded just as much, placing all his faith in a prophecy that, in the words of a Skyrim parody, "Blocking out the sun would kill all the plants, which would kill all the animals, which would kill all the humans, which would eventually kill all the vampires." Harkon sees only one way forward, and that is destruction.

Is it more comforting, or terrifying to know where you will go for the choices you've made...

l have a question:lf the companions dont like being werewolves then why force people to become wearwolfs just to get a promotion? after a few years (generations?) none of the companians would be wearwolves (unless they wanted to be and knew the risks)

I hate that you can't be a Companion and be a vampire at the same time.

The rot? I don't remember any mention whatsoever of Kodlak having some disease, which would be especially difficult given lycanthropy renders one invulnerable to any disease. How could he be immune, yet infected? I can't even find any reference to him being afflicted with such a disease, it seems more than his only affliction rendering him incapable of fighting is simply age. Or is the "rot" an allegory for what old age does to the body?

I believe many say "intelligent" when they mean "wise." I consider this discussion of Kodlak an example of this. I doubt he could critically discuss scientific theories of his day with scholars, but he does critically examine various courses of action and choose the best one.
