    🧙‍♂️Someone I forgot to mention on this list was Janus Hassildor from Oblivion who was the Count of Skingrad. While not the greatest or most powerful, I think he should have been mentioned because of how he ruled the best city in Cyrodiil and helped fight against the Worm Cult.
    In the future I plan to ask people who they think is the greatest _____ in the community section before writing a script just to make sure I don’t miss anyone in the future. 🧙‍♂️

      @@__KXNG__ Considering his domain is called "Castle Volkihar", I would assume based on aristocratic naming conventions that his names is really Harkon, Lord Volkihar (or Lord of Volkihar). However, as Lord is not really a proper aristocratic title and rather a form of adress, I would instead place him (based on the size of his fiefdom) as a baron or count.

      that would actually make for a great story actually, but some things would need changing like the age of the DB, like maybe when he's far older he can be killed, maybe.
      but according to the lore that castle was made before they ever lived in it, so call that what you may, funny enough also in the lore, Harkon was sort of the king of skyrim, well a large portion of it back in his time before he and his family became immortal, this is explained in the in-game dialogue when speaking to him.
      it's too bad the base game doesn't offer a realistic way of renovating the entire castle to it's former glory when you beat him, but also it would have been nice to take over the location via the dawnguard winning, because at that point it could be repurposed and used as another faction location for the dawnguard, i think a lot of locations across the skyrim map could work like this, kind of like when you kill an bandit gang location and the empire take fort and become it's new owners, it would have been cool if that was a choice for the player to make, so whatever faction you wanted to dominate the land, you have the choice to convert each and every fort location into your faction of choice location to claim for themselves.

    The way that Verandis can hide his vampire appearance, I believe that's what they refer to as "Cyrodiilic Vampires", the types that are virtually impossible to detect. It's referenced in the book 'Immortal Blood' found in Skyrim.

    • @TheGyldenaut
      @TheGyldenaut 11 месяцев назад

      those Vampires you’re talking about are actually the “Cyrodiilic Order of Vampires”, not just Cyrodiilic Vampires.
      The Common Cyrodiilic Vampire came from the disease Porphyric Hemophilia and are easy to distinguish, along with a crippling weakness to the sun.
      The Cyrodiilic Order is basically Vampire Illuminati in the province of Cyrodiil, Count Janus Hassildor in Oblivion is even a member* (unconfirmed but he does show up in the UESW page about them). They eliminated the other bloodlines and tribes from Cyrodiil and maintain relations with other Vampiric Groups/Daedra Worshippers in other provinces as to not cause wars, 2 of which are mentioned in their book, “Manifesto Cyrodiil Vampyrum”, which are the Whet-Fang Vampires of Black Marsh and the Glenmoril Wyrd of High Rock, though also found in Skyrim (the Glenmoril Witches you kill in the Companions Questline).

    The reason Verandis could be out and about in the sun is likely due to the fact that he's a different kind of vampire from what we're familiar with. To explain: There are 4 different strains of diseases that cause vampirism. They are as follows:
    1. Sanguinare Vampiris
    2. Porphyric Hemophilia
    3. Noxiphilic Sanguivoria
    4. Chaotica Vampiris
    Of these 4, only 3 can affect mortals. The 4th, Chaotica Vampiris, actually only affects those who are already vampires. What it does is it enhances the vampire's speed and strength. But it doesn't make them immune to sunlight. Not to mention that it was artificially created by an alchemist. So we can rule that one out. We're all very familiar with Sanguinare Vampiris, so we know it isn't that. There doesn't seem to be much info on Porphyric Hemophilia, but it seems safe to assume that it isn't that. That leaves Noxiphilic Sanguivoria. This one is interesting, because it is the only strain of vampirism in which those who contract it aren't weakened or harmed by sunlight, but rather, are immensely empowered at night instead. So while Verandis wasn't turned into a vampire by a disease, his form of vampirism seems to be in line with the Noxiphilic Sanguivoria strain.

    It could be an interesting theory to speculate as to whether Rada al-Saran and Harkon Volkihar have any connections, as they both appear to be of the same bloodline. It could be possible that Harkon was a high-ranking member of the Grey Host, as Harkon was a powerful king during the First Era. Maybe Harkon became a vampire and then later joined the Grey Host as a prestigious officer of some kind, but then retreated back to his castle in the Sea of Ghosts after the Grey Host suffered its original defeat. It makes an even more compelling case when you consider that Harkon has at least some familiarity with Blackreach (or at least Dwemer ruins, in general), as the Grey Host made their fortress in Blackreach, "deep in the bowels of a Dwemer ruin".

    I haven't watched the video yet, but I'll come back later once I do. That said, my money's on Lamae Bal being the most powerful vampire on Tamriel because she's responsible for creating one whole strain of common vampirism, and she apparently gets stronger the more people are turned into vampires by her subjects.
    Oh, and she is the first vampire after all - the first Daughter of Coldharbour in fact, who'd go on to create three whole lines of vampire clans too. She'd also go on to create a breed of vampires called Scions, who are apparently as strong as vampire lords.

    Let's be real, Harkon's an idiot. Ignoring Valerica's reasonable points of Vapmpires having every Mortal on Tamriel banding together to wipe them out, there's the logical argument that the Prophecy in question would eventually kill all the Vampires.
    Even if it isn't the same physical body as our Real Sun, The Sun of the Elder Scrolls serves the same purposes as ours; bringing light and heat to Nirn. If Harkon had blotted out the Sun, Nirn would become cold very quickly. With the lack of light and warmth of the Sun, all plants would die, following the plants would be the animals, then the mortals who feed on plants and animals, and eventually the Vampires would be left with nothing to feed on. If starvation can't kill a Vampire then that's even worse, they'd go feral from the hunger-induced madness.

    The reason Verandis can go out into the sunlight is the same reason The Vestige can go about by day with vampirism. Zenimax officially stated that Molag Bal’s planemeld has brought Coldharbour so close to Nirn, its influence has granted all vampires the ability to go about by day. This reason was given back in 2015 when players complained about the lack of penalty for vampiric toons going about in the day light. So Verandis’ ability will likely come to an end when the planemeld stops. Melina, another House Ravenwatch member, mentions in her level 2 enchanter hireling letters that their blood servants also mend the cloaks the House uses to go about by day, otherwise.

Then he was able to return all the souls back to life that were sacrificed to the heart. Including his own. (I'm unsure if verandis is permanently alive and away from the heart however he truly ressurected a city worth of people which normally wouldn't be deemed impossible with how much power and control that was needed.

    O your wise Nelothyness, maybe you can answer a question: is there any lore reasons as to why the Tyranny of the Sun prophecy actually works? Or was it just a quest Bethesda put in without giving much thought to lore?
    I ask because during the confrontation with Vyrthur, we find out he just made it up, so it's not like it came from the gods or daedra. But as you said, it somehow got onto 3 different Elder Scrolls which is unfathomable, and if you shoot the sun, it actually comes to fruition. Yet it doesn't make much sense. Why would the Blood of a Daughter of Coldharbour do anything to the sun? The sun is Magnus (or remnants of his energy anyway), a totally separate entity from both Auriel and Molag Bal. Why would someone with Molag's "blessing" have any effect on another god? Not to mention Magnus is reputed to be very powerful.
    In addition, why would this affect Auriels influence on Mundus? I admittedly don't know much about the Elvish version, but Akatosh is the Dragon god of Time, not the sun, no? Not only that, but the whole Aedra vs Daedra vs Magna-Ge is that the Aedra, incurring Akatosh, were responsible for the creation of the world and stayed in it, having their essences infused, while the Magna-Ge left and tore the sun and stars on the way out, and the Daedra weren't involved at all. With that in mind, it seems like the blocking of the sun and severing of the connection between Nirn and Aethereus would affect everyone BUT the Aedra. Therefore I'm not understanding why this would be the best way for Vyrthur to exact vengeance.
    If Auriel is somehow associated to the sun and/or drew power from it, i can get behind the blocking and the reason the bow helps, and that Vyrthur would know about it as a very high ranking member. But I'm just not seeing that in lore. Am i missing stuff? Or did Bethesda just decide to bypass lore for a very cool questline?

    • @masterneloth
      @masterneloth  11 месяцев назад +4

      So the Elder Scrolls themselves are quite unknowable and impossible to comprehend who actually wrote them. Elder Scrolls record what was, is, and will be. How Vyrthur did this is a unsolvable mystery which I like, but fate likely had a hand.
      As for Auriel/Akatosh, he is referred to reside in Aetherius with the other Aedra. The sun created by Magnus is the largest portal or tear between Mundus and Aetherius so blocking it would sever any connection the Divines have.
      While blocking the sun would not directly impact the Aedra, it does seem clear that Akatosh/Auriel has some vested interest in Tamriel considering his actions in Oblivion.
      I don’t think Bethesda contradicted any lore in the Dawnguard quest but I think they just threw some things up in the air as a mystery. This doesn’t bother me necessarily as one of my videos I’m making has led me to believe that The Elder Scrolls universe is a very illogical place and that is for the best.

    • @akuladoctor7355
      @akuladoctor7355 11 месяцев назад

      @@masterneloth The "stars" are also tears between Mundus, and Aetherius so it is not a full sever. But enough to give the vampires freedom from the sun. As for why it works. I think it's more like the bow being connected to the sun through aedric magic. Since the sun arrows also affect the sun. What happens when the bloodstainted arrows are used is, that the bow's magic sends a tainted arrow to the sun. Sun is indirectly the source of all life. Vampiric blood is the polar opposite of life. Not just blood itself means, that living beign is harmed, but the blood of a vampire is the blood of an undead. So in some way the blood of coldharbour, and the sun are polar opposites to one another.

    • @Chino429
      @Chino429 11 месяцев назад

      @masterneloth Ah I see. Thanks for taking the time to reply! So a bit of faulty understanding of the gods on my part then 😁 Thanks for clarifying. I can definitely get behind the logic, or illogic, of parts of it being a mystery because the Elder Scrolls franchise do be mysterious like that sometimes (Dragonbreaks anyone?) But your explanation makes sense with the severed connections to Aethereus. Even if it didn't affect Auriel directly, no connection=potentially no contact with mortals=no influence on the plane=not able to pursue whatever his ultimate goals are.

    Notes from a formerly obsessed ESO fan: Verandis and Rada both made sacrifices to Molag Bal a la Hakon, becoming Vampire Lords from his direct touch. Verandis regretted his deal not long after and became a pacifist, Rada did not.
    The Dark Heart is indeed connected to Namira, and was sacred to the proto-Reachmen before it was lost beneath Skyrim thanks to the actions of the Dwemer, who were attempting to find the Heart after detecting it through their tonal machinery, and a clan of Vampires who had discovered they could feed from it instead of from blood, at the cost of no longer being able to sustain themselves on anything else. At some point, one or both sides pissed Namira off and she drained the Dark Heart, sending all but one of the clan who fed upon it mad. The leader of said clan was sealed away, until the bloodshed of the Three Banners war woke the Heart enough for her to wake up, and she promptly teamed up with Rada al Saran in his plans to rescue the Grey Host from Coldharbour.
    There was a lot wrong with Greymoor and Markarth but I'll give the game credit for some genuinely terrifying villains and excellent new friends. (Fennorian!)

    i just really like playing as a Vampire and in every single one of my Skyrim playthroughts i ended up as one, if you ask me why i will always answear with two words; poison immunity. also because i like the shiny eyes but that doesnt play as big of a role on my choice since i exclusivelly play on first person. also, in every playthrought i become a Werewolf before becoming a Vampire, since its much easier to finish Dawnguard as a Werewolf, and no, i never choose Clan Volkihar, after i finish Dawnguard (and unlock all the special items like explosive darts, dwemer crossbows and both the Rune Shield and Rune Axe even though i never use them) i just ask for Serana to turn me into a Vampire Lord. I refuse to be a common Vampite. and yes, i do use Harkon's Sword as my main weapon for the rest of the playthrought and yes i do regret not sidding with Clan Volkihar every single time because the special rings are broken as fuck.
