The other golfers, and to be more exact, the doctor that he golfs with is italian as well. They are just enamored with the gangster life style, and they know he is a gangster.
What you said makes perfect sense, they’re entertained by Tony’s lifestyle the same way some white kids are entertained by black lifestyles. The fact that they’re Italian too doesn’t really matter as Tony said earlier they’ve become “white” in a way he hasn’t yet. This entire episode was about race whether the fans like it or not.
True it doesn’t just go for black people, Italians have their own culture. Every ethnicity has their own culture and their own way of doing things, about asking questions you shouldn’t be offended unless they are outta pocket like they were at the golf course with Tony. If someone is just wondering or more trying to learn about a culture, I wouldn’t have a problem as I could let more people know about it and understand it.
I feel pretty bad for Tony in the golf course scene. He just wanted to have fun with non-connected Italian-Americans. It's definitely Dr. Cusamano's fault for talking behind Tony's back.
As a white guy, I think there is a big distinction between the intent to offend or not. For the most part though, it's so much easier to just not say the N word, that in 90% of cases it's just like, why?? Even if you're not sure on the history of the word, everyone knows it's contentious at minimum. Sometimes though it's okay, like if you're having a frank conversation about it then there's no point pussy-footing around it still, but a lot of the time it's just unnecessary
I know this is old But I just wanted to add that Italians were considered black in America until the 30s. So there is a lot of left over racism, despite them now being considered white

You know he rang that bell...the whole way home...🤛🤛🤛
This is some funny show
Very allagorical
It is for such episodes that I expect a reaction, like a sweet cake.

Oh really didn’t know that
@@terabytrng It isn't true.
Italians were never considered black. "Ethnic" Europeans were treated less than WASPs but never by law.
@KT white people still call Italians the n word in North London.... educate yourself little boy
I believe you are a free thinker
